Pros: True 10 bit panel (30bit color), not an 8+2bit FRC panel like most Hardware calibration with 14bit internal LUT (compatible with common calibration tools) Up to 100hz refresh rate with AMD Freesync 3440x1440 resolution is ideal for size of display Height of screen size matches height of standard 27" displays, perfect for multi-screen setup
Cons: Built-in speakers sound weak and should only be used for basic system sound, this should not be a deal-breaker as the display itself is very good
Overall Review: I needed a color accurate display to replace my 10 year old Lacie 324i that I was using for photo editing and color correction before print. Ideally I also wanted a display that could offer more screen space without adding an additional display. The PA34VC checks most of the boxes for what I was in need of. The only thing that I could have asked for would be a higher color depth such as 90%+ of AdobeRGB coverage, however I was unable to find any superwide displays that checked that box. The display itself is quite large, but when paired up next to a standard 27" monitor, the height of the screen is the same which is pleasing for a multi-screen desktop with this being the primary display and one (or more) display to the side. Connectivity works through Displayport, one of two HDMI, Thunderbolt, or I was also able to get it to work using the USB-C (VirtualLink) port on my 2080TI to the Thunderbolt port using a USB-C cable. (On Windows PC this only works for 8-bit color, the Displayport connection is required for full 10-bit color. I am unsure on Mac how that works for a true Thunderbolt connection.) The 100hz refresh rate with Freesync is an added bonus for gaming. While not designed for gaming, it will serve a dual purpose without the added expensive of a dedicated display to get higher refresh rates.
