Overall Review: Purchased this as a complement for a Ryzen 5700G. Did not work out of the box. Requires a firmware update, which requires an earlier Ryzen CPU. Tried AMD's "Short-Term Processor Loan Boot Kit", which did not inform me until after the period where I could return everything that they will not send a CPU with integrated graphics, so they expect you to purchase a dedicated graphics card as well to do a firmware update. Horrendous experience, and I've been unable to even test the parts I purchased until after the return window had closed. I found out after the fact that there are other motherboards that feature CPU-less firmware updates. If you're looking to run a Ryzen 5000-series, go with one of these instead. I won't be buying AMD again after this. ASUS has been reasonable, but I am very disappointed in my purchase
Pros: Board installed into existing windows environment no problem. No need to flash Bios for Ryzen 5600, plug and play baby! USB-C Connector? Don't mind if I do. Nice locks on the PCIE connectors, with the connected x16 being a different color for easy identifying. Ram slots as well. Overall it was a pleasure. The bios is easy to use as well, better than what's on my RoG Strix B350. Wonder if I can upgrade 🤔
Cons: I didn't encounter any negative issues except one of the pins on the audio header was bent at a 90. But I straightened it and pressed on.
Overall Review: Heck yah for the money, do it. Great price solid board

Overall Review: It came perfectly packed, It is very important for me because Im from other country, so the box, and specially the board came in perfect shape, Asus is a good brand so naturally it ran smoothly, the board has nice effects like white leds.

Overall Review: Overall a good B550 board that could've been better, similar boards from other manufacturers have m.2 heatsinks, addressable RGB and nuetral black designs to fit more styles--I recommend those.
Pros: Overall it's a good board. Sleek, easy install. Runs well as long as I only populate 2 of the 4 memory slots.
Cons: The memory slots: No matter which way I try and flip the sticks around, I can't get this board to post if all 4 are populated. The 4 pack of 4GB G.SKILL Ripjaws V simply will not post, even with adjustments to voltage and speed in the BIOS. Spent the day looking for solutions and seems that others have similar issues and just walk away, only using the 2 slots. No real fix that I can find.

Overall Review: I know my opinion doesn't mean much but I'm going to rant a little. I have been a fan of ASUS for quite some time. I have used ASUS motherboards from the ASUS Crosshair IV Formula all the way up to the ASUS Prime X470 pro, tablets as far back as the Asus Transformer, Strix GPU's, and my Asus 2 in 1 laptop I use almost daily and never had more than a minor issue which was able to be fixed very quickly. I now purchase the Prime B550 Plus for a new entry level build and pair it with a Ryzen 5 5600G since I only need onboard graphics and the processor is on the compatibility list of the motherboard. I get all the components, build the system only for it to not boot. So I get in touch with ASUS, who made the motherboard only to be told I have to go to AMD and request a boot kit and get a loaner CPU from them to boot the system and flash the bios so that I can use a 5000 series Ryzen in this system. This is extremely frustrating as now I have to find out what BIOS was shipped on my board by looking at a sticker on the board and then contact ASUS again to get an e-mail from them to go to AMD and ask them for a solution. I do not understand how this is shifted to AMD being they did not make this board, they did not say this board was "Ryzen 5000 Ready" all they did was make a processor that ASUS said works so ASUS should be the only contact point for an issue in my opinion. So now a build that should be done and complete is having to sit and wait until I can find the time to tear into it to get numbers off of a sticker that is hidden by my cooler so that I can contact ASUS to get an email so I can contact AMD to get a loaner CPU and wait for that to come in so that I can remove my CPU and put the loaner in and flash the bios and then rebuild it all and send back the loaner CPU. This is absurd. The only thing more absurd would be to say to ship the motherboard in for you to flash it. I do not understand why, if you as a company are going to ship something that you know is going to be an issue, why not simply put flashback on it so that it can be fixed by the user immediately. Instead the consumer now has to jump through hoops and wait in order to get a working product that you made and sold. Again I know I am just one person and that the 9 or so motherboards I have purchased, 2 tablets, 6 GPU's, 2 laptops really doesn't mean much to ASUS at the end of the day, but this is just sad.
Pros: Seems good in most areas.
Cons: About one time in five, the boot stops with the message: "USB Device Over Current Status Detected!!! System Will Shut Down After 15 Seconds." It has done this since I received it almost two weeks ago. I bought a powered USB hub, but no change. I tried different mice and keyboards, same erratic result. I even tried it with NO USB connections at all to the motherboard, and received the same message (with the expected one about the keyboard being missing). The power supply is a premium new one, and I checked the voltages with a tester before attaching. I kept the default settings in the BIOS, so no limits were tested. It is clearly a defective motherboard. I am still exploring how this can be best remedied.
Overall Review: This motherboard basic design may be a generally competent, since there are some favorable reviews. But the one I received is not useable. Barring some resolution, I can only make the worst possible evaluation. Newegg has it marked "not elegible for return" on their copy of my order, so maybe that applies to all defective motherboards they sell. Next, I'll try Asus to see if they replace motherboards arriving defective. 9/29/20 update: Newegg changed from "not elegible for return" to a link to return it immediately after I posted the above. I returned it for a replacement, and Newegg was fast in replacing it. The second one was very slightly better in that the shutdown message did not appear. Giving up on both Asus and the B550 chipset, I ordered an MSI B450 motherboard. This was hugely more solid. However, it still froze the mouse repeatedly. After days of trying things, I removed half the memory (from 128GB to 64GB). The problem disappeared completely. Even though the cards can accept and successfully test 128GB, apparently there is some shared resource (power bus?) with the USB ports. Not exactly a robust design, but I can live with 64GB even though I bought 128GB, because it's absolutely necessary. Since the Asus B550 card might also work with half the memory, although not as stably as the MSI B450, I raised its rating from one egg to two. At least the B450 card has Win7 drivers, which are not available for the B550 chipset. Using dual-boot to Win7 and Win10, I'm finding that Win7 always wins. It is impossible to remove much of the spyware in Win10, such as trying to get to Microsoft Store as the unannounced response to almost any problem. The user interface, efficient use of desktop screen space, and general control of the computer is much easier on Win7. nVidia drivers for Win10 have redefined their Control Panel as a link to run on an nVidia server somewhere, with no apparent means to even change screen resulation offline. Win7 drivers have none of these problems. They just work.
