Solid, Commercial Grade Board8/21/2020 6:40:07 PM
Pros: - Super reliable
- Wide array of configuration options
- Supports virtualization, ECC RAM, IOMMU. Great for a hypervisor setup.
- 4 SATA ports is probably the sweet spot for a micro ATX board.
- Dual m.2 slots.
- Very little packaging
- Good value for the money
Cons: I haven't encountered any issues with this motherboard.
Overall Review: Fantastic experience. I've been using ASUS motherboard for literally decades and the quality is always on point. Great price point enabled by B550 - smart move by AMD to introduce this IMO.
This is for a home server / HTPC / NAS and it works great. I upgraded the BIOS out of the box, configured it how I wanted, and was off to the races. Zero issues since.

Solid motherboard8/1/2020 5:33:44 AM
Pros: Micro atx. Already had latest bios. Witch was nice.
Robust quality at resonable price.7/4/2020 10:40:47 AM
Pros: Well designed and compact. Good to have 4 RAM and 2 NvMe slots for future expansion.
Cons: Can only think that as a "commercial" board, it would be nice to have a built-in backplate like the Asus ROG series to speed up installation for many units, but not an issue at all for the average DIYer.
Overall Review: Highly recommended and would buy again.

Pros: It supports ryzen 5000 and has pcie 4
Cons: My Corsair vengeance rgb pro wont run on xmp/docp it will just keep boot looping until it boots into safe mode and my cpu 5600x is running pretty hot because the vrms on the mobo themselves are pretty hot.
Overall Review: It allows me to use my ryzen 5600x and get the most out of my pcie 4 6500xt ( I know its a horrible gpu) but it runs my cpu pretty hot because of the vrms being pretty hot. I will upgrade my cpu cooler to see if this makes a difference but Im seeing 56-60 idle temps on my cpu and I know its because of the motherboard. And as high as 74 in games with less than 80% usage in some cases I cant really recommend this board unless youre on an ultra budget but I cant complain to much I got what I paid for.
Manufacturer Response:
Dear Anonymous,
It's unfortunate to hear that unit is stuck in boot looping and the VRMS is hot. This is not the kind of experience we want any of our customers to have. Depending on the configuration, ensure the air ventilations are free from obstructions in order to have an efficient airflow for better heat dissipation. As for the RAM, please refer to the FAQ below. For further troubleshooting, feel free to reach out to me at customerloyalty@asus.com and provide this link for reference. I'll do my best to provide a quick resolution to your case. Your feedback is important as it helps with improvements to ASUS Support channels.
Thank you for choosing ASUS!

Pros: MoBo wasn't all bad, and had a lot of features that I wanted.
Cons: It wasn't fully working/DOA.
Overall Review: It's a solid, basic MoBo, however I can't really give it a high rating given I had to return it. Process was smooth and got my money back, and I don't think it was badly designed, just the average DOA MoBo.
Manufacturer Response:

Pros: Haven't been able to get computer boot up yet with all memory, so there are no Pro
s as of yet.
Cons: Where do I start, first one came in dead, second one came to me with dead third memory plug, so with what I am doing with computer I need all 32 gig of ram and still not working as advertised yet.
Overall Review: I was having good luck with ASUS until this build, don't know whether it is the B550M-A or what, read a lot of good stuff about the mother board but my luck is just not good yet. And waiting for 2 weeks to replace, sucks. There technical support is good on weekends to find problem, but waiting 2 weeks for new item is a bummer.
Manufacturer Response:
Dear The Big B,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention and I certainly understand your frustration. Please double-check if your CPU has any bent pins along with your CPU socket. After verifying your parts please reseat your CPU cooler without applying too much pressure against your CPU as doing so may interfere with your memory channel. If the issues persist, feel free to contact me if you have any technical or general questions. You can reach me at cl-adrian@asus.com. Your case for reference is N2103023328.
Thank you for choosing ASUS!

Pros: Easy to set up.
Easy BIOS to use.
Looks nice
Good for first build
Overall Review: So this is my first time doing this. But have to say so far I am pretty happy with my set up so far. Would recommend for a first time build.
