Pros: This board has the best bios raid setup I've ever used. It will quickly and easily build out any raid config you want. I have mine setup to RAID0 2 M2 drives, RAID0 two 10TB platter drives and RAID10 4 8TB platter drives. Works great. Exactly what is needed without all the extra fluff of the more expensive boards.

Cons: None.

Overall Review: Great board for any STRx4. Runs my 3960X threadripper great.

Pros: --My Threadripper 3970X system runs fine after some initial frustration. I'm not sure why ASUS shipped a board which would not boot out of the box. --The board is not flimsy and has the essential features. --The board is ATX, so it will fit in most normal-sized cases. --The price was not outrageous. --ASUS support was available when I called with my problem.

Cons: --Out of the box, this motherboard would not boot my 3970X. ASUS support and I tried everything until we reached the last option: download the current BIOS and update from a USB thumb drive inserted into the "BIOS FlashBack" port on the rear I/O connections panel (see the reference manual 2.2 BIOS update utility, BIOS FlashBack). ASUS support said, basically, "Good luck and good-bye" before I did the FlashBack. Luckily it worked and the MB finally booted. --Using the ASUS 5-way optimization for the lowest level of overclocking led to an unstable system with about 1.4V applied to the CPU. I dialed the system back to a fixed 3.8 GHz with a GTX 1050 running at stock and 64 GB of DDR4 3200 memory running at its rated speed. Now the CPU uses only about 1.1V and everything is stable. --Because I disable SMT (simultaneous multithreading), neither "sleep mode" nor "hibernate mode" are available on this motherboard.

Overall Review: If you are comfortable with the possibility that you might need to perform the BIOS FlashBack, I would recommend this board.

Overall Review: It worked out of the box the first time. Asus is a brand I trust and they didn't let me down. Boards for the 3rd gen threadripper are low volume so its hard to get a lot of review data - I recommend this one.

Pros: Compatible with newest Threadripper CPUs. Has 3 M2 slots, Plenty of USB3 options,

Cons: Minor, no WIFI.

Overall Review: Worth the money. Would always use ASUS.

Pros: - Great BIOS features (overclocking etc) - Worked great from day one - Haven't had one problem (crossing fingers)

Cons: - Minor: mine did not come with NVMe mounts (screws) for all that are available

Overall Review: I'd recommend this motherboard as I am running my 3970X flawlessly on it. I am not overclocking anything though as this is used an a software development workstation.
