Pros: - Looks pretty nice.
- The premise of the ASUS tools seems nice. Nice looking interface.

Cons: - Wildly unstable. Even at stock settings. (Yes I'm on 1201 Bios and yes I tried older versions).
- Forget about getting your QVL approved 3600Mhz ram above 2133 Mhz (well on my board anyway, I see others have had success). I spent over 15 hours trying to fix it and have read every foru, If you are considering this board, just Google the board and your QVL ram (3600Mhz) and you will see many have the issue. No fix in sight. (I'm running G.Skill Trident Neo 4X16gb Model F4-3600C16D-32GTZN.
- Manual has extremely limited information. Fault codes I get are rarely listed on their chart in the manual as well.
- For some off reason, you must rename the BIOS prior to installing it? Why not just name it appropriately? Hassle/Poor Design.
- Crashes regularly if you try and change any setting in the BIOS. AiSuite does little for ram.
- ArmoryCrate software is buggy and is fully of ads trying to trick you in to installing Google Chrome and other stuff you don't want or already have.

Overall Review: I would recommend people avoid this product.

My current set up is:

4x16GB GSkill Trident Neo Model F4-3600C16D-32GTZN

Dear Amazon Customer,

It is unfortunate that your motherboard is having issues being stable. Have you done memory testing on your RAM sticks to see it's not defective? I recommend MemTest86 or Memory Diagnostic tool. Great product until it fails, then you're without a computer for WEEKS 2/13/2020 9:56:43 AM

Pros: The pros are the incredible feature set. It's a high-priced option, but the build was extremely simple. The toughest part was figuring out how to get it to boot in a non-UEFI mode so I could run CPU and memory diagnostics from a USB stick I have.

Cons: The board failed outside the easy return/replacement period, it's not eligible for any reasonable cross-ship replacement policy, and all ASUS will do is let me ship it to them so they can take weeks to ship it back.

Overall Review: I will *NEVER* buy from ASUS again in light of this. I have had motherboards fail before, so this isn't my first rodeo. But this is the first one that failed like this. I powered the system down in the evening of 2/11/2020, and when I went to power it on a few minutes later I got nothing. There had been zero indication of trouble, but absolutely nothing happened when I pressed the power switch. Not even the motherboard LEDs were lit. It's the most spectacular motherboard failure I've seen, having gone from a functioning system to a complete brick with no sign of any distress.

And because it's outside the simple return/replacement period (which I believe is 30 days), having purchased it in mid-October 2019, the best ASUS will do is let me ship it to them so they can take 7 - 10 business days to ship it back to me. It took a solid hour on hold to get through to them and generate a "reference number", then another day before their "higher tier escalation" guy called me back to generate an RMA number, and now I can look forward to another week or two before I have any hope of having a working computer.

This is utterly ridiculous in 2020, so I will *NOT* be buying from ASUS again. I would recommend that you do *NOT* buy from ASUS either. I've had great success with Gigabyte, certainly nothing like this, but I made the mistake of listening to good reviews, and I will *NEVER* do that again.

Manufacturer Response:
Dear John,

It is unfortunate that your motherboard is no longer working. Can you try taking your motherboard out of your case and testing it on a non-conductive anti-static test bench, and see if the problem still persists? Please test your unit with a stick of RAM, CPU, PSU, and a GPU and see if it posts. I understand that you're not happy with our RMA process. if you have any questions or concerns, you can contact me at cl-justin@asus.com. 8 SATA doesn't enirely workable 2/2/2020 9:10:33 PM

Pros: Fancy MB with lots of connectors like typical ROG MBs

Cons: I build a new PC set using this board with R5 3600 and a EVGA 1660 and a corsair MP 600 nvme ssd. Installation of Win10Pro is easy with using USB and UEFi bios. However, when I plug it my old HDDs from my old PC (1x1T, 2x2T -in MBR , 2x6T - in GPT) which is a nightmare. All cables / ports that I tried with diff combo, all of them are recognized in UEFI bios. SATA 1-4 will work properly in win10, but any HDDs plug into SATA5-8 won't see the right (old) partition and even yo use diskpart to clean / re-partition / format - they are not usable. I tried to let the SATA1-2 empty to try. SATA4-8 won't work. SATA 5-8 may probably workable in RAID-mode only.

Overall Review: If you needs 8 SATA work properly, don't buy this MB.

Dear Ka,

It is unfortunate that you're having SATA issues. Can you please plug in known working hard drives that were working on SATA 1-4 into 4-8 to see if it's recognizes it? This way, we can test if your SATA ports are faulty or not. Also, please try new SATA cables. I would love to help you troubleshoot more on your issue, if you are interested. Great Motherboard for Gaming/Content Creation! 1/16/2020 11:08:07 AM

Pros: - Ryzen 3000 ready; No BIOS updates are needed out of the box.
- Great power delivery; Extra 4-pin EPS connector along with the standard 4+4-pin for Overclocking.
- Active Chipset heatsink.
- Two M.2 slots with an aluminum heatsink for both drives.
- Pre-mounted I/O Shield.
- On-board audio and Wi-Fi save you from having to populate extra PCIe slots.

Cons: - Expensive.
- Due to the placement of the USB 3.2 gen 1 header, I was unable to connect the front panel USB 3.2 gen 1 Type A I/O because the radiator from my AIO water cooler was in the way.

Overall Review: - I would recommend this board to those interested in overclocking your CPU and/or RAM.
- I would buy this board again for new machines if it wasn't so expensive. (picked it up on a Cyber Monday deal)
- If I could change anything about this board, it would be mounting the USB 3.2 gen 1 header perpendicularly, rather than parallel to the PCB.

So far, not a single complaint - 3950x runs well 1/10/2020 7:08:31 AM

Pros: -Very high quality VRMs, perfect for 3950x. One of the best price to performance boards you can get, according to der8auer. His 3950x simulated VRM test is what lead me to this board.
-POST on the first attempt with an AIO (had to set the BIOS to ignore the CPU fan)
-WiFi allows wireless controllers and bluetooth without any additional hardware
-M.2 slots run at spec, and the armor seems to keep them at reasonable temps
-Everything necessary to the build was included, as expected
-ASUS provides the latest drivers on their site, everything is updated and running fine
-More USB than i'll ever need. I'd trade half of those to get another USB 3.0 front panel connection
-The pinout adapter is one of the most convenient things that i wish existed for longer than it has
-PCIe 4.0 i guess is worth mentioning, if you're new to x570

Cons: -I got a case with 4x USB 3.0 front panel, and this motherboard just has one 20-pin connector. I knew this coming into it, I just planned to get a PCIe adapter or something in the future if i ever needed it.
-Kraken x62 and my higher profile RAM forced me to flip the coldplate and turn the NZXT logo upside down - appropriately upsetting Linus and Kyle. I'd like it if the memory could be moved a bit further from the CPU socket, as i only needed a few cm.

Overall Review: I've had this build for a week, and the board has been perfect - not a single issue yet. I'd love to rip it apart for a flaw i encountered, but i guess i got one of the rare good specimens? It is odd that both models have been sold out since i purchased mine a couple weeks ago. Is that a sign of an underlying issue, or is it just a popular board?
Anyway, not docking any eggs for my cons because they're basically my own fault. I knew the RAM was high profile, I just figured i'd still have space for the coldplate. I could get lower profile RAM and i'm sure it would be fine, but i'd rather have the Trident Z Neo that was on sale at the time.

Good while it lasted 12/29/2019 6:40:23 PM

Pros: Great board and handled everything I needed to do. Handled my gaming and basic tasks well with ease

Cons: A day after using it. I turned it on and was completely dead. Post code 00. It was past 30 days after I built it. So was ineligible for return. Contacted customer support for Asus and no luck. My personal opinion. For the money you can find better

Manufacturer Response:
Dear Valued Customer,

I'm sorry to hear you've encountered no POST issue with your motherboard. Try taking the motherboard out of the case and set it on an insulated surface. Install JUST the CPU/cooler, and 1 stick of memory in the first slot. Plug in the 2 PSU cables to the MB. Connect the motherboard, and connect the monitor to the integrated video if it has it. Turn on the PSU. Press the power button on your motherboard. If the issues persist, feel free to contact me if you have any technical or general questions. You can reach me at cl-adrian@asus.com. Your case for reference is N191285283.

Thank you for choosing ASUS!
