I recently bought the Z890 HERO motherboard with a Samsung 9100 Pro 4TB M.2 SSD that comes with a built-in heatsink. I had to remove the Z890 built-in heatsink (not my preference, but I had no better option) to install the 9100 Pro SSD on the M.2_1 slot - it was an either-or situation. Based on my experience with the Z890 motherboard, if you want to keep the Z890 built-in heatsinks, you need to buy M.2 SSDs that don't come with built-in heatsinks. Hope this helps.
