Pros: lighting, quality, nice features, I swapped from a b450-f strix, now my fans light up thanks to the argb header on this motherboard
Cons: only thing i had issue with was enable CSM in bios to boot into windows, then install Ethernet network controller. Then I was back in business.
Overall Review: I have a Ryzen 3700X and everything worked right out of the box for the most part. just about 30 minutes of network and audio troubleshooting but its a nice board. I'm happy with it!
Pros: - easy install, I had it up and running in about 30 min - plenty of connections for SATA and USB
Cons: - the Intel LAN is broken - the primary port for video card lines up directly with my case's HDD mounts
Overall Review: The board worked great with my new Ryzen 5 3600XT and GSkill Tridentz memory. I did have one issue with my GPU lining directly up with my HD enclosure. With the current large size GPU I had to move my SSD up a slot so the SATA connector didn't hit the board. The Intel LAN is a big issue. I needed to flash the bios before it would even show in Win10. It seemed to work great while I keep the PC powered on. Once I powered off for more than a few minutes the card stopped showing in Device Manager. I tried a few solutions I found online, and updated the drivers to the ones from Intel, but no luck. I finally found that if I short the CMOS and then reset BIOS defaults it works. I also believe it is causing a power problem. If I power off the PC for more than about 15 min, it will not power up. If I unplug and leave it for 15 min or so, it starts right up with no issues. I am still searching for any kind of help resolving these two issues, but no luck so far.
Pros: This board has many excellent features, but the LAN controller was bad on 2 boards in a row, after newegg exchanged it, and Asus acknowledges the issue. I still give NewEgg high marks for helping me with the exchange process, but it's been frustrating waiting for a good board, since the 2nd one is now at the Asus repair facility on RMA. I'm still a strong proponent of Asus motherboards from my previous experiences, but I just got unlucky with this one.
Cons: See above.
Overall Review: Low marks to Asus for claiming an exchange would be very low probability to get the same problem again. High marks to NewEgg for always standing behind their products. I just wish there was a way they could test and know if there was an issue before passing it on to the customers. But it's why I trust them, even when there's an issue, it always gets taken care of.
Cons: I used the builtin Raid 1 capability with twin NVME drives. Alas, doing that meant I lost some SATA ports. To get to the remaining ports meant dislodging the graphics card, which is not difficult, but is an annoyance. Worst of all, after a few days it lost ethernet capability.
Overall Review: My first new motherboard in years, so it was kinda fun.
Pros: - plenty of SATA and USB connections. - Looks great. - runs cool - PCIE gen 4 - 2 m.2 slots - All fan headers are 4-pin PWM
Cons: - no internal usb 3.1 type C header - QVL listed ram will not run stable at listed speeds
Overall Review: I am using G.SKILL Ripjaws 32GB (4 x 8GB) 3600 - F4-3600C18Q-32GVK. When using XMP or manually setting the timings to rated speeds, i get random blank screens that come back to my desktop after 10-15 seconds. I also get "d3d device lost" errors on game crashes. Games will not run more than a minute. I can run stable at 3400 though. I would recommend this motherboard to others if they know about the 2 cons above. And maybe just buy 3400 speed ram? Asus ROG Strix B550-F Gaming Ryzen 7 3700x 32GB DDR4 G-Skill(4 stick kit) 1TB M.2 NVME Gen3 Asus ROG Strix RX5700XT All in a Be Quiet Pure Base 500XD
Pros: Motherboard looks awesome, RGB is a nice touch. Has everything you need. BIOS/UEFI is nice and easy to use.
Overall Review: Really good motherboard for the price. No issues, works well. RGB is nice. AURA sync works well and has a decent amount of customization. Would highly recommend
Pros: Great manual with lots of useful info. Make sure to edit the frequency of your RAM and enable XMP mode if needed. BIOS is also good (coming from Gigabyte). RBG logo also looks good in the rig. It feel durable, but make sure to hold the back when you apply the pressure with the PSU cords.
Cons: None
Overall Review: It is worth the great money. Do not go cheap on Motherboard.
