Pros: Works well was top of the line when I bought my first one. My second one lasted nearly 4 1/2 years. I've just ordered a 3rd.
Cons: My first RT-AC68U only lasted 7 months.
Pros: Works great! Love all the features it comes out the box with. Handles all my home network needs.
Cons: No, none of my personal needs have run into any.
Overall Review: When you install custom firmware on it, you get a little bit more features. It's just so fun to play with and customize this router for your network needs.
Pros: Seemed great in the beginning...
Cons: After 2.5 years stopped working. Would not recommend another...
Pros: Very fast when working. 2.4 ghz has stayed functional. Many nice cloud features with usb 3.0 port
Cons: Router started dropping 5ghz wireless after about one year. SSID disappears frequently . Total hassle to use 2 year warranty. Keep a old router handy if you plan to use the router "repair warranty". Who knows how long process will take.
Overall Review: I'm not sure any router works perfectly for more than a year or so. This is my 5th router over about a 6 year period. I thought i was buying high end this time.
Pros:
Easy configuration, even the more advanced settings. Not quite "plug-n-play," but close.
Great range and connection speeds throughout a 2-story house with basement. This router sits in the basement and reaches even the second floor with good throughput.
Comprehensive built-in security monitoring via TrendMicro, one less thing to worry about.
Dual-band, reduces congestion on the over-used 2.4GHz network. 5GHz doesn't have quite the range as the 2.4GHz (by it's very nature,) but it connects at very fast speeds.
Downloadable app for Android and Apple devices, (Android) works very well, allows you to monitor and customize almost all your network settings from anywhere you can reach the WiFi.
Four Gigabit-speed RJ45 Ethernet ports, and one Gigabit uplink port, pretty standard for a router in this class.
Asus AIMesh allows you to create a "network of routers" should you need additional coverage in a larger home or business.
Only three antennae sounds like a bad thing, but I actually prefer it to the "pincushion" look that (even Asus) higher-end routers are beginning to adopt, is this really necessary? This router says "no!"
Cons: Still just a tad on the expensive side, seeing as this is the lowest-end of the Asus AC router line, the top-end being $350 at the time of this review. Were it $25 less, I would have given this router a solid 5-Eggs.
Overall Review:
If you don't need the most expensive and blazingly fastest router out there, but still need a GOOD, fast router, your search is over, THIS IS IT! This has been the best and most trouble-free router I've owned to date, and trust me, i've been through a ton of them.
It's still early, I've only been running this one for about 3 months now, so only time will tell regarding durability, but I have zero regrets in this purchase so far.
Pros: Works Great, no issues.
Cons: None after a couple of years and going.
Overall Review: I recommend.
Pros:
It takes about 5 minutes to go from new router in the box to everything being back online. Less technically savvy people basically only need to stick all the wires in, set a name for their network and a password and they're ready to roll.
We have a lot of devices (PCs, cell phones, tablets, smart TVs, DVRs) in our home, so the more-powerful-than-average processors are worth the moderate bump up in price to keep up with the load.
Cons:
The interface for the router's webpage is not optimized for cell phones at all (large web page which you have to zoom in on to see anything), and there are no explanations for what many of the acronyms mean or different settings actually do, meaning newbies will need to Google what all the settings mean or just plain be overwhelmed by the advanced options. It also kicks you out and makes you resend the password (if you don't want to let your phone store your password, which is a potential security risk) nearly constantly.
The 5G doesn't extend all the way to the end of my house, so I wind up using the 2.4G, instead, for the cell phones, just because getting bars is more important than speed.

Pros: The range of the ASUS wireless router. Even when we take our wireless devices on our patio, we can still watch videos.
Cons: None so far.
