Pros: -Set up in seconds, no need to install anything.
-Dual band works like a charm!
-Looks awesome, tilting it into the light makes a cool static distortion across it's checkered surface.
-Matches the rest of my furniture.
-Shipping was fast, got it the same week I ordered. Really helped lessen the torture of no wifi because of apartment congestion.

Cons: -The stand hooks up only on one side so the cables must come from the right for it to stand but my cables come from the left.
-There was a single speck of dust and the tiniest smudge on it.

Overall Review: My apartment building is so congested with 2.4 GHz WiFi bands that my WiFi stopped working on my phone from 7 feet away across an open room. Bought this, configured my 5 GHz to an underpopulated band, hid the SSID for my 2.4 GHz so my devices would only connect on 5 GHz and *BAM!* problems solved.

Getting full speed on my phone (30 Mbps service) instantly on all my speed tests compared to 6/10 seconds of 0.3 Mbps and 4/10 seconds of 8.0 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band. Neighbors suck.

Pros: When works, is fast and is easy to configure

Cons: Totally unreliable. Freezes at least once per day under even very light load - 3 WiFI clients max. Router stops responding to pings on any interface WIFI or Ethernet, and you have to hard reset it.

Overall Review: Asus support is pretty much a joke. I sent a defective unit to Asus and got another one with exactly the same problem. I lost my patience at that moment and I don't plan to buy anything from Asus anymore.

Overall Review: Router must be turned off/on at least 1x per day and sometimes 3x day. I googled a fix and did the following two tasks: 1. Reset the router to default settings 2. Flashed the firmware to the latest version. I scrupulously followed the directions given on ASUS support website for doing each task.
The 2.4 and 5 ghz each have a separate SSID. Am using one LAN (yellow) port but do not think that is a problem - will try disconnecting it and see if that helped.
When I first got it, I had to turn off/on after 2 days and then it became at least 1x per day. Now, at least 2x per day with occasions of 3x per day.
Reboots from the ASUS GUI had no effect.

Can we have a detailed information about the router's issue? was it intermittent, slow or drop connection? aside from updating the firmware have you tried also using the other firmwares for the router? Please try the troubleshooting steps below to try to fix the router's connection issue.

Check for interfering devices i.e. Cordless Phone / Microwave Oven / Bluetooth Devices
Check the wireless settings {Wireless Channel: 1 / 6 / 11 }
Try to test with 5ghz
Try with different wireless computer or other wireless devices and check the connection if its stable
Try using the hardwire cable and check the connection if its stable
Bypass router and connect PC directly to the modem then check the connection if its stable
Reconfigure the router
Change channel bandwidth to 40 Mhz then to 80, control channel to 157, DTIM to 3 and
Beacon Interval to 70.

Cons: didn't have DDWRT as I thought it did from the wording of the listing...

Overall Review: Really disappointed to have confused myself with the title, it said DDWRT open source support, but that didn't mean DDWRT was already installed as I originally had thought reading the somewhat misleading title

Cons: MY 5GHZ CHANNEL DOES NOT WORK AT ALL!!!!!
Outside of 30 day Newegg Return Window as I was in no Hurry to install as this was an add on that I didn't nesc need.

Overall Review: 5GHZ Channel Does not work at all, I have upgraded to the latest firmware and done everything ASUS has suggested but can not get 5 GHZ to broadcast. It Actually does not even show a MAC Address for the 5ghz channel like it does the 2.4 and Ethernet channels. Still in 90 day warranty period but I know how ASUS is with warranties due to my two different Nexus &'s that I had to fight with them over.

I replaced the firmware immediately with Tomatoe, so I don't know if the ASUS firmware was as bad as other reviewers have said. With the third party firmware, I have nothing but good tings to say abo 3/25/2016 5:58:37 PM

Pros: Super cheap. Fairly easy to install Tomatoe firmware.

Cons: No supported version of DD-WRT, which is what I originally bought it for.
With the third party firmware, the 5ghz band seems not to be working, but all in all, this hasn't affected functionality.

Overall Review: I bought this to replace a G router running DD-WRT, so the jump to N is great. I don't have much experience with higher end devices to compare it to, but I have had no performance issues or glitches.

Pros: None period

Cons: The product would drop signal quite often
the item came with 2 option 2.4 ghz and 5 ghz but you can only descover the 5 ghz on your phone

Overall Review: Waste of time and headache,I always had a great opinion with the asus brand,So i didn't think much of the other reviews, and had to try for myself after wasting 2 hrs testing the item out,It fail to meet event the minimum expectation that i had
