Overall Review: I was thrilled to get my new Threadripper up and running (3970X). It took a while (first AIO was DOA) but I finally got it working. And it’s a beast! However, the journey to beast-ness was a bumpy ride, mostly caused by the AIO which decided the coolant temp was -7 degrees Celsius when the CPU was at 100% load, and promptly shut off the fans and pumps and let the CPU shut itself down at 95 degrees. I replaced that with a Noctua air cooler, which is astoundingly good, and keeps things nice at cool with almost no audible noise, and also fit really well on this board. With that in place I got everything set up, moved my good GPU over from my soon-to-be-retired old desktop, and... it was dead. Lights on the MB, but no post, no errors, nothing. Naturally, I assumed the MB was dead, and reached out to Asus support for assistance. They responded within 24 hours (impressive in these covid times), and the response was amazingly detailed, covered every base, and actually directed me to the real problem very quickly (a bad PSU cable connected to one of the drives). All in all, this motherboard was an excellent investment - great drivers, software, the instructions were solid, and their tech support was pretty much the best I've experienced in this space to date. I can't recommend this hardware, and this manufacturer, enough. Asus (and Yannick E. in Asus support), you've earned yourselves a lifetime customer.
