What is an HDD vs. SSD?

If it hasn't been answered already, the HDDs have moving parts including a platter and a needle. Think of a record player pulling all your data and writing it too. SSD drives don't have that drawback. It is a solid state drive that just needs the computer to write and read without many moving parts, if any at all. This makes the operation of pulling data, storing data and even deleting data that much faster. Gaming PCs use SSD drives for their speed and incredible efficiency.

Does it have wired ethernet? If so what speed?

No it does not.  Many ultra books don't, they are so thin the size of the Ethernet jack gets in the way.  Most get a usb to Ethernet dongle (I did).

Can I install Windows 7 onto this machine? I don't care if the touchscreen won't work. Thanks.

Yes. Keep in mind that there is no DVD drive on this machine...hence no software comes with it if you decide to go back to Win 8. Additionally, if you are loading win 7 with a dvd, you'll need to make an image and load with a thumbdrive.

While you can definitely load Win7 on there, you might want to check the ASUS website to see if they have the drivers available for win7.

Guess the bluetooth question was just deleted but I just went to connect bluetooth yesterday to realize there is no installed support. Anyone else encounter that?

Not the greatest. It's about 3 hours watching videos, 4-5 doing homework/surfing the web.
