Pros: Like the other reviews for this monitor say, it really is gigantic. Insanely awesome! I got it for FPS gaming primarily (CS Source, COD, UT, etc..) I upgraded from a 19in. BenQ 2ms. This 2ms ASUS performs about the same as the BenQ. Games look incredible at the HD resolution of 1900x1200. I tested both HDMI and DVI from my video card, and they both look excellent. If your video card struggles with running the game at the full resolution, it doesn't matter, this monitor can run lower resolutions and also maintain the aspect ratio which is VERY nice. I can't stand when you wanna run something in 1280x1024 (4:3) and it stretches to fit full screen. This monitor allows you to view the resolution exactly as it should look in it's aspect by giving you black borders around the edges. But it can be set to stretch if needed. You can also multi-task so much easier with this thing. LOTS of screen real estate. Put an HD (1900x1200) wallpaper on your desktop and be blown away

Cons: I don't believe the monitor goes into standby if you are running it off the HDMI cable. You must manually turn it off. Due to the large size of this thing, you may have to push the monitor to the back of your desk, or get a new desk all together. With my old 19in, my face could be 1.5ft away without discomfort for hours of gaming. However, if you were to be this close to the 25.5in., you can get motion sickness or a headache because of the brightness and all the action motion. I moved it back about 3ft and it's much more comfortable now.

Overall Review: For FPS gaming, you feel like you are really in the game literally. Your guns seem life-size. This monitor is really bright also in the default settings that may need to be turned down if you play in a dark room. When playing CS Source and I eat a flash bang, I bet the neighbors think there's an alien abduction within the house hold from all the white light, lol. Overall, this is an excellent gaming LCD. I would recommend this to anyone who demands superior gaming performance.

Pros: Big, Bright and Beautiful. If you are looking to update your monitor size without breaking the bank, this is a great "sweet spot" (price to size ratio) monitor. No dead pixels, absolutely pristine and perfect. More than perfect for the computer GAMER and the majority of BASIC USERS out there.

Cons: For those of you researching LCD monitors, here is the meat you NEED to know; as with most all lower priced LCD monitors, this uses a TN panel. What this BOILS down to is color COUNT reproduction, TN panels are only 6-bit and unable to display the full 16.7 million colors available in 24-bit true color. BOTTOM LINE; You will see banding in most all gradients. Now, that is not truly a Con as it is a simple fact of TN panels. For the basic PC user, it probably will not matter. For the PC gamer, I would say this is still THE monitor to get in this price range. It's fast in its response time and like I stated, it really is big, bright and beautiful. You will be far too busy killing bad guys to notice any banding that MAY show up in the sky. I would say this is may NOT be the monitor to buy if you are even semi-serious about editing photos/videos, or creating 2D/3D cgi art of any kind. Then I would strongly suggest you go with a 8-bit S-IPS panel, which unfortunately can be 2x-5x the price.

Overall Review: Here is the REAL annoyance. The Asus rebate. Simply put; when you go online to fill out your rebate, it will be basically stated on the "Payment" page that (after finalization) the rebate will take 8-10 weeks, BUT...if you want, you can let Asus keep $3.00 of that rebate, and they will mail it out to you within 5-7 business days. (AND, in their otherwise located FAQ, they (had) stated that $3.00 will get you 3-5 business days) Well, I paid the $3.00 and it's been 12 days and no rebate yet. Asus was nice enough to respond to an email inquiry of mine after I recieved their final email notice which unfortunately stated *cough* "2-4 weeks". The nice customer rep said that the 2-4 weeks was an email glitch and I would get the 5-7 day delivery... Well, I didn't, yet I'm fairly confident I will get the rebate, but it will most likely be close to 2 weeks. Like I said, more of an annoyance, but heads up, just so you know. (and knowing is half the battle).

Pros: No problems so far. No dead pix, no connection problems. It is - BIG. I do the kind of design work where accurate color is not an issue, but visual clarity and raw real estate are. It's so large that I'm actually having to get used to working with this much screen area. I really need screen height and rejected a number of larger (diagonal) monitors because they were 1080 rather than 1200. This monitor was the best combination I could find of size and connection options vs. cost.

Cons: Not so much a con as a quibble - the documentation, which comes in the form of a 100 page book, looks quite impressive until you open it and find it is really 3 pages in 33 languages. Latviski, anyone? (If so, give my regards to Milda.) The website and documentation provided there are unimpressive.

Overall Review: Some of the negative reviews made me hesitant to purchase the monitor. I've had it running for just about a week, which is not exactly a long trial period, but there have been absolutely no problems. Out of the box it is bright - painfully so. Several reviewers have provided settings, just read and plan to use them. No light leakage, no dead pix, no banding or striping. No problems waking from suspend (on DVI). One thing, before connecting you may want to play with the controls and change the input selection to the one you intend to use. I had expected the monitor to auto-select on the input, but you have to manually select through the on-screen. Unless something changes I'm giving this one 5 eggs, and kudos of course to NewEgg for prompt shipping.

Pros: 1) Huge viewable screen area 2) Amazing price 3) Wide variety of inputs! 4) Pre-defined viewing modes 5) Built-in speakers 6) I love it!

Cons: 1) Limited viewing angle 2) Colors not realistic (compared to more expensive models) 3) Stand not height adjustable 4) Its sheer beauty caused severe retinal damage, leaving my optometrist perplexed

Overall Review: This monitor definitely provides the best bang for your buck! I bought mine for $330 before the $30 rebate. Any other monitor 24" or larger will cost you at least $400, and most likely much more, so this monitor is a steal! But it's only ideal for the average user. One who works with film production or photography might have trouble with the colors being pretty inaccurate, or have a tough time tweaking them to perfection. One who uses this monitor for group work where people are on either side might not like it for its limited viewing angle. The hues and brightness change drastically when viewed from the side, above, or below. I personally love it for its wide variety of inputs, which allow me to keep my desktop, PS3, and 360 connected simultaneously. And I still have room to connect another computer! The internal speakers transform this monitor into a very mobile high-def television. BUY IT!

Pros: After nearly 3 mos. of daily use, I still love this trouble-free monitor. Sure, it's not perfect, but it's the Best Value of the Year. on the Contrary to other's complaints : a) Input AUTO-DETECT works fine on mine, As does RESUME from STANDBY or Re-Boot. b) non-adjustible height for a $250( delivered) , 25-1/2" HD monitor? Try my phone book trick; very stable. c) optical input? How would 7.1 Dolby-Digital sound on 3" stereo speakers, lol?? d) factory color (too bright, too blue ) : easily adjusted : 1) select : Standard Mode 2) set Color-Temp. : User-Mode : Blue : B:50 (+/-) 3) set Image : Brightness (70+/-) and/or Contrast (70+/-) or as desired. 4) hint : try "BLACK" background / wallpaper.

Cons: NEWEGG : replacement policy stinks: 8 BAD PIXELS?? MFCTR Policy states: >3 Brite or >5 Dark But, if mine had ANY bad pixels, bleeding, etc. , I would also be singing a different tune.

Overall Review: UPDATE: to my review on 10/29/09 confirming : ASUS rebates are PAID ... in 11 weeks ... ... but, I did email ( nag ) them frequently, though. the ASUS REBATE PROCESS ( asus.4myrebate.com ) ... a) 3 days AFTER USPS confirms delivery (i.e. 11/02/09), they acknowledge receipt of mailed docs. b) 6 days later, they approve rebate "claim". c) "payment sent ... 01/11/10" ... EXACTLY 2 months from approval date (i.e. 11/11/09) , d) YAY !! receive $30 REBATE on 01/20/10 [ paid via a Citi-Bank credit card] .

Pros: Installation was a breeze. Incredible value. Shipped remarkably fast (although I believe I am close to where they're stocked). The settings are cake to understand and use. Color adjustment was simple. It looks gorgeous. The size is impressive, and it has remarkable clarity. Everyone who sees it on my desk let's out a "whoah!" Huge kudos to Asus for this, and to Newegg for providing such a killer deal.

Cons: On my second day of ownership, I got a stuck pixel (as opposed to a dead pixel). It was bright green. After research (mostly thanks to wikipedia), I tried running two different stuck pixel fixers to no avail, I tried what JScreenFix suggested as an alternative resort, which was pixel massaging... involving a dampened tight-wove n cloth (in my case a nice pillow case), applying pressure to the spot with fingertip with monitor off, then turning it back on while still applying pressure. No luck again. I was nearly resolved to deal with it. By sheer dumb luck I fixed it: I took a mechanical pencil tip to it. I pressed firmly, but not so much as to damage the screen, into the screen and back... on the third press, the pixel simply was gone. Fixed! Woooooweeee!

Overall Review: If you get a stuck pixel, I suggest going to download.com and getting UnDeadPixel (aka UDPixel). If that doesn't work, read up on Wikipedia on identifying and troubleshooting your stuck or dead pixel(s). It seems this monitor doesn't often come with stuck or dead pixels from all of the reviews I've read, so I say it's a brilliant deal. To be clear: I would have given this monitor a 5 star rating even if I had to put up with the stuck pixel. It was about 4 inches right of center, so I'd notice it, but it wasn't glaring in any way. I'm an artist: my monitor quality is key to my livelihood, so I mean it when I say it: Incredible find. Look no further!

Pros: Most definitely the best bang for your buck. Upgraded from a 17" monitor, so needless to say it was like stepping into a whole new world. 2ms response time makes this monitor perfect for gaming. Also, big enough to second as a tv in my bedroom. A nice selection of input as well, including HDMI, component and DVI. High def movies look great. Nice clean, glossy finish and stickers were put on protective plastic instead of on the monitor itself.

Cons: Speakers are really not very high quality, but I wasn't buying this for the speakers. Only the very slightest bleeding at the bottom of the screen, but really nothing to scoff at.

Overall Review: I was initially looking at the 24" model and then found this deal. I'm gonna have to upgrade my computer now just so I can play games at the resolution this monitor supports!! Sure the stuck/dead pixel is a risk, but that is with any monitor. Luckily, mine arrived in a timely fashion and worked flawlessly. Needless to say, you can't go wrong with this monitor. Kudos to Asus for breaking into the LCD market with a strong contender.

Pros: Amazing monitor...hands down. I upgraded from a 22" Acer monitor which in no means was bad at all, just needed to go bigger. I was very surprised after unboxing the monitor at the size difference, and how nice and sleek this one looked. Well, the monitor goes a little something like this...Amazing clarity, very nice crisp visuals, no stuck/dead pixels, of course needs a little bit of tuning after setting up in the color department, but it's not all that bad at all, to be honest. Excellent monitor. Used for web broswing and heavy gaming. Doesn't fail me one bit. I would definitely recommend this product to friends/family/co-workers and the like.

Cons: None whatsoever, to be honest. Just perfect for all my needs.
