Question 1

How are the SATA and Molex connectors distributed? (i.e Are they all on the same cable coming out of the power supply?)

1 cable with 3 sata power connectors
1 cable with 2 molex (and one floppy) power connectors
It would improve things if there were more connectors, but even with that shortcoming, this is a super-reliable power supply (we have about 15 deployed with zero failures over 3+ years). We use splitters if we need more molex or sata power plugs... works great.

Question 2

How much noise do these things generate?  I have a 1u case I want to use as an HTPC and I'm wondering if this will be suitable.

Extremely loud in my experience. I built a NAS with a case from u-nas nsc-800. With the cover off and at idle the power supply was fairly quiet. However with the cover on the heat of course was building up causing the small fan you see in the picture to spin more. Add a load of moving files to from it. That sucker really starts whistling LOUD!. I love the NAS case and wanted to display it in my living-room. But the fan in the power supply is so loud that the NAS sits in another room.

Performance-wise I have not had one issue during the year of ownership. However I would not use in a HTPC setup you will be annoyed.

I did look for a "fanless" 1u design but no joy :(

Question 3

What are the mounting holes size and distance?

I purchased the P/S to use with the NORCO RPC-170 (below). The mounting holes are in the rear, by the fan and power button, and that's it. There's no bottom or side holes with the chassis I purchased. I'm not certain about other 1U chassis making use of the bottom or side.
