Overall Review: Truely wonderful card, when I saw that this card had Dolby Live I thought it was just an extra feture and would make noise a little clearer and little more enjoyable, but when I recieved it from Ups and installed it, I found that I was totally wrong. Once you go Live you will never go back, the way Live makes music sound is truely amazing. When I turn on Cold Play I swear they are behind my Z-5500 speakers and are singing to me. I have never listened to music with such quality and I have a 6k home theatre system, and they can't even match the sounds of Dolby Live. (well they get close) The bottem line is if you are sick of seeing another Creative card, and want the most amazing sound you can pump out of your speakers, then get this board. P.s- They also perform extremely well in games too. Call of Duty 2, Fear, and World of Warcraft sound absolutely incredible when paired with the Z-5500's.

Pros: I installed this card in my HTPC and it worked great with my receiver. I have not had any sound defects with this card since I have owned it.

Cons: Drivers have given me a headache when I first installed it and later on it just stopped detecting it. All it took was reseating the card, so I think that was due to the motherboard and not this card.

Overall Review: I definately suggest this card if you are building an HTPC. It has all of the outputs you should need, and does not have any sound defects like my Audigy 2 ZS has.

Pros: The virtual 7.1 is INCREDIBLE...it's as simple as that, because the speakers aren't equally close to me, the virtual setting can help you out with the layout of the speakers, so I get even distribution of sound all around. The crispiness of the sound is so good and clear you can barely touch it... Drivers are very easy to work with. Gold plated inlets, so you won't get any rust. Works very nice on my 5.1 dolby speakers.

Cons: Don't be fooled by the ease of using this card, I didn't appreciate it the first day, give it a chance and work around with the software and it would scream at ya...praise me praise me

Pros: Dolby Digital encoding! Sound Quality Digital outs! Optical & Coaxial amazing HTPC capability! Gaming w\ DDL surround is awsome!

Cons: no biggies so far. But I suppose the utility could use a fancier GUI. (although I installed the one on the provided disk and there could be an update). One more thing there is about a one second delay for the signal to go into DDL mode.(sound syncs up perfect but one second of silence after the signal starts.)

Overall Review: Okay I realize it's a bit early to right a review (I just got it last night) but I'm frikin impressed. I picked up a nice used reciver with optical ins but got no sound from my envy24 card(cheapo but nice $xx) turns out it will only play DTS or DD so PCM soud had to be anolag. I ordered this card to solve the problem by turning everything into DDL. Unfortunatly I tested with a DVD player and the Digitals didn't work at all. Dissapointed I went online to cancel my order, but amazingly newegg had already shipped (not even 24 hours later) so I got it and hooked up to my old receiver, the sound improvment is incredible! I've decided to hold on to it and I'm even ordering some new speakers to reach it's full potential.Got it set up with video out to TV and Audio to my 5.1 reciver. Great for DVD movies & Video Games!

Comments: I LOVE THIS SOUNDCARD! I have owned the Audigy2 ZS and a Chaintech AV-710. This card annihilates both of them in sound quality. It HW accelerates Direct Sound3D streams. Drivers are very stable, and unlike the Envy24 HT-S based Chaintech, you get a hardware EQ. Definitely a must-buy if you care about sound quality and performance at the same time.

Pros: Live 5.1 encoding of any source, much fuller sound, pass through of 5.1 (won't alter already encoded 5.1 sources), stable, no separate panel required for optical out

Cons: Can't use optical in and optical out at the same time (one connection)

Overall Review: This is my second card. The first has been running solid 24/7 in an HTPC for over a year. Very stable and no driver issues.

Pros: The sound quality is excellent and takes very little CPU power to play your games/music. 7.1 ready, Coax & Toslink ready. 24-bit/96KHz. Good documentation.

Cons: No connectors on the board for from mic/headphone jacks on computer case (front headers). I use a USB Plantronics headset anyway...

Overall Review: This card WORKS PERFECTLY with Vista. Just download the drivers and you'll be fine. Be sure to disable your mobo's onboard audio BEFORE installing the card.

Pros: Drivers support is fairly decent. It works fine for me under both Vista and XP. Interchangeable op-amps are nice for people who like to do a little tweaking.

Cons: Distorts when set to maximum level in control panel. I've found that 75% works fine and produces flawless sound. It might be a feature to eliminate background noise, but I have my mic about 2 feet away from me and I have to turn everything up to max to be heard. On the plus side if it was attached to my headset it would cut out the background noise. I can't find a way to turn it off though if it is supposed to be a feature

Overall Review: Cards works great. Compared to the X-Fi I used to own I'd probably say the X-Fi is better for gaming, but for general music listening this card is an excellent choice. The distortion at max volume is annoying though.
