Support for Intel XMPIntel Extreme Memory Profiles (XMP) technology provides a robust, profile-based overclocking solution for novice and experienced overclockers - easily overclock your platform by selecting the predefined profile in the BIOS, or manually adjust frequency and timings to extract maximum performance from your system.
Pros: Look up a Youtube video of these bad boys. They make any case look 10 times more awesome. it's just...I don't even know what to say. It's amazing that something so simple gets me so excited, but it totally does. I would recommend these on ANY computer with a window, or holes, or any way to see these. They're amazing.
Cons: For some reason they defaulted to 1333 on my board, and while the would post at 1866 without issue, I couldn't overclock beyond that without getting error, even with relaxed timings. I wish I could pull 2133 out of it, but I can't hold it against them if they don't pull it off. So I won't.
Overall Review: The speed at which the lights flicker is based off of the CPU load at any given time, and because of that, it actually makes diagnosing the PC much, much easier. It used to take me upwards of a minute to five minutes to completely be sure whether my computer was just loading something very large, and needed some time to work, or if it just froze entirely. There's a specific speed at which the lights will move if it's frozen, and I know immediately. On the other hand, if the screen stops responding, but the lights keep moving at the same speed or go faster, I know that it's just doing something that's going to take a little time. it's made things like overclocking and installing certain drivers and firmware a bit less arduous.
