Pros: Low profile and the most inexpensive memory with heat spreaders I could find at the time. Working perfectly in my ASRock X99-WS board. XMP identified them correctly and set timings accordingly.
Cons: None so far
Overall Review: Went on sale less then a week after I purchased but that's life I suppose.
Pros: This memory will easily run from DDR4- 2133 to 2800, more tweaking up to 3474! Depending on CAS settings, DDR4-2600 14-13-13-35 CR2 CAS# Write Latency 12 & DDR4-2400 13-13-13-35 CAS# Write Latency 11 seem to be the speeds it really likes. At stock overclock 5930@3700 read, write & copy speeds will be over 50,000, latency 60 to 63. Volts 1.240 to 1.255, stock 1.205 I would recommend this memory to anyone that want true performance!
Cons: None that I have found! I will be ordering another set!
Overall Review: Asus, Rampage V Extreme, i7 5950, Crucial Ballistix 4X4 DDR4-2400, Voltair Thermoelectric, EVGA GTX 980, HX1050, Crucial REALSSD's raid 0
Pros: So been using this ram in my new build for about a month now, paired with an asus x99 deluxe, 5930k i7. and 2 gtx 980s. i chose the cheapest ddr4 ram i could find ($174 at the time) and so was a little wary when building the system. but its turned out to be fantastic ram, no issues with it whatsoever, so far i freaking love the new speed (2400 mhz versus 1600 mhz in my previous system) im thinking ill eventually get a second set to take me up to 32 gb, because why not? im an enthusiast, this is what i do, cause i totally NEED 32 gb of ram haha.
Cons: nadda. im actually trying to think of something just to be fair, but i honestly cant right now, its just running so well.
Pros: Great RAM at a great price. 100% stable, even when overclocked to 2600 speeds. Haven't tried going any higher, no need at this time.
Cons: One module out of my first kit was bad. PC would not post at all with it installed, even when setting RAM speed set very low. Replacement kit works perfectly, and even overclocks a little.
Overall Review: Can't beat the price. And Crucial/Micron makes some really good stuff for the most part.
Pros: Quad Channel DDR4 setup!! thats all i should have to say... Crucial has never let me down in the past and i knew i was getting premium hardware easy setup, i seated the sticks, mobo saw em, no hitches stock 2400mhz with ASUS x99-A i run it stable at 3,875mhz around 30C idle (heatsinks help) fast! fast! fast!
Cons: CAS timings are not the best but its not really a con because they dont hold these sticks back
Overall Review: it was a lil tougher than normal to seat these 4 sticks, just make sure they are all the way in.
Pros: - Worked - Attractive heatsink that does not increase RAM height
Cons: - Had to reseat RAM at first for BIOS to post
Overall Review: I was satisfied with the RAM. It was on sale with a combo and was the cheapest DDR4 RAM availible, while at the same time not being the slowest. I appreciate the low-profile heatsink design and black PCB. I use air cooling with a Noctua DH-15, and while the secondary fan positioned over the memory does not perfectly align with the central fan of the cooler, it is lifted less out of the way than would be necessary with RAM with larger heatsinks. DDR4 is taller than DDR3 anyways, so I expected this. Point being, heatsink did not increase RAM height, which is one of the few things I really needed from the memory. I have not overclocked, so I will not comment on that. All I can say is all memory worked.
Pros: As it stands at the moment, the value of this memory is absurdly good for DDR4 memory. DDR2400 is a great entry point. This memory overclocks extremely well both in regards to higher frequency and significantly higher CAS timings, both stock voltage and boosted. It looks simple and sleek. No fancy giant heatsinks or such on this, just a very simple, laid back cover that fits in well with a classy/laid back design. XMP
Cons: I can't afford another 16GB?
Overall Review: Don't let the stock timings fool you; aside from this RAM's great price value, you can significantly boost the stock timings and clock speeds with no voltage change. 2666 + 15/15/15/36 2T timings with no voltage change are extremely common and possible with this RAM, and I've seen 2666 + 12/12/12/30 1T @ 1.35V stable. Ridiculous and not really necessary, but good to know its stable enough to pull it off. 2800 is also possible in the right build with reasonable timings.
Pros: One of the cheapest name brand DDR4 options right now. My computer runs completely stable at 2400 with CAS16. I have not tried to overclock these chips as I do not see any reason to. I actually like the design of the heat spreaders. My motherboard has a blue color scheme, and alot of the good memory is red, and unless Im going for a patriotic red, white, and blue look, having red RAM and a blue motherboard looks silly. The silver chrome coloring means it would look good in any motherboard, regardless of color scheme. Installation was easy. This is my first system using DDR4 RAM, so I don't know if this was due to my particular motherboard, or if all DDR4 RAM will be this way, but the clips on the sides of the RAM sockets only fold out on one side. Unlike all previous RAM where you have to fold out both sides, and then click the RAM into place. My motherboard only folded out on one side, and it just latched onto the other. I dont know if that makes any sense, but the point is, it was pretty easy to do.
Cons: The only con I can come up with is just in general about the state of DDR4 memory, which is expensive. Prices will eventually fall to around where DDR3 is now, but for now if you want to build a Socket 2011-3 system, this is what you have to get! My motherboard supports up to 128GB, so when prices come down, I'll probably replace these with something else, but not because there is anything wrong with them.
Overall Review: DDR4 is still pretty new to the market, and the prices are considerably higher than DDR3 right now. Taking into account this is one of the few quad channel 16 GB kits out there for under $170, this is a good bargain. Several people state that these chips do not overclock well, and that might be true, but frankly, there is no reason to overclock DDR4 memory now. Yeah, Im sure there are some synthetic benchmarks out there that will give you numbers showing that overlocking beyond 2400 is better, but mark my words, YOU WILL NOT NOTICE IT DURING EVERY DAY USE! Considering people were happy with DDR3 speeds of 1800 and less, going to a stock RAM that runs happily along at 2400 is really nice. Anyone complaining that these cannot handle extreme overclocks need to understand that at this point, this is budget DDR4 RAM. You shouldn't expect top of the line overclocking on anything that's "budget". If you want extreme overclocks, you need to spend more. As prices come down and there's more competition for DDR4 at this price level, there might be better options down the road, but for now, this setup is absolutely fine for most DDR4 builds.
