Pros: Good upgrade choice for AGP lackeys like me! Solid BFG construction. Simple install. Solid Nvidia drivers. Solid tech support.

Cons: Noisy fan (but well worth the performance boost)!

Overall Review: I figured my upgrade options were fairly limited for my AGP board. Proc, mobo, RAM, and HDD were all solid so I couldn't bear to reconfigure everything to get PCI-e graphics. I replaced a ATI Radeon 9200 with this Geforce 7800GS and I am ecstatic! I am an X3 Reunion addict and the game was nearly unplayable with my old card. FPS would drop to the 6-10 range (AA & AF off, 1024X768 res)during a space battle making the game VERY stuttering and hard to play. Popped this Geforce 7800 GS in and I am smokin! Now I play X3 at 1280X1024 with 4XAA and 2XAF with no stuttering and BEAUTIFUL graphics! "The Way It Was Meant To Be Played" about sums it up for me. I thank the computer Gods for remembering us AGP lackeys - I am EXTREMELY happy with this card!

Pros: High FPS on very intense and interactive games. Reasonably low temps Great drivers Easy OC ability

Cons: Upgrade worth the price?

Overall Review: As expected of the 7x series, it's amazing. I have been waiting on this card for some time now. A week before I heard the rumors I was going to drop $$ on a 6800 ultra, from my 9600x-I'm glad I didn't. In my case, this was worth the upgrade; If you have a 6800 chip, you may not get the performance increase you want from dropping another $xxx on this. I have yet to OC this card, but have heard reports of this getting up to 495 core and 1.41 memory. BTW, FEAR and CoD2 never looked so good!

Pros: - The ultimate AGP solution for those of us not wanting to overhaul our systems for another year or two. (Read all the tech reviews and benchmarks on this card in particular) - Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion went from recommending medium settings for my 9800 PRO to ULTRA HIGH for the 7800 GS. With the exception of a 40-ish framerate when there's a lot of nearby scenery to render, it is absolutely beautiful. - The card installed easily on my first try. Grab Forceware 83.40 (WHQL signed for this specific card) rather than using the included drivers. You won't complain. - Running pretty cool; haven't seen it top 45 C yet. Has an awesome heatsink that does its job wonderfully. - It can play any game right now and make it look beautiful, absolute max settings or not.

Cons: - Nothing major. - ...but even though I do say she runs cool, it's because I've got an Antec case designed for cooling with 120mm fans running on high and an 80mm auxiliary fan blowing air over the card. Definitely make sure you can keep this baby from heating up. - She's a big, heavy card, so if you have a cramped case, definitely make sure you have room. 8 1/2" x 3 7/8 " - Purchasing this product means you're knowingly backing yourself into a corner, as it's an investment you'll have to live with for a little while, as the rest of the world moves away from the AGP interface.

Pros: i was apprehensive about getting a BFG card at first, as i usaly get EVGA. but this baby blew my dubts out of the water. with my 3200+ athlon 64 CPU,and ONE gig of corsir XMS i can run everything but fear(it runs on med high with 2x AA and most settings maxed) on max with full AA and filtering.

Cons: no cons but the fact that you need a hefty power supply, but i guess that is expected. i recomend a OCZ power supply very powerfull, 26 amps on the 12V rail(there is one with 33A but thats a little over indulgent for what i needed)

Pros: I bought this card to replace my Radeon 9800. My 3DMark06 score went from 801 to 2954! I can run all my games at high settings. Card runs hot so I bought an Antec VCool to keep the heat down. Definately recommend to anyone seeking to keep their old AGP system going.

Cons: Not really a con but this card went in my Dell Dimension 8300 and I had to upgrade the power supply to support it. I knew this ahead of time so I ordered a PC Power & Cooling Dell upgrade PS and everything went perfectly.

Overall Review: Make sure your Power Supply is at least 400 watts and supplies at least 20A or more on the +12V rail.

Pros: Using Forceware 91.47 and NVTray 10.48... using built in button "Detect Optimal Performance", produced 504 Core Clock Frequency vs 400 and 1.45 Ghz Memory Clock Frequency vs 1.25 - and This is card is already OC'd by BFG.. Awsome

Pros: Great card. Quite possibly one of the best you can buy for AGP on the market today. If you are like me and are too cheap to upgrade to PCI-E, get it!

Cons: The fan *can* be noisy at times, but I've only noticed it in CoD2 or other high-end games. I wanted to find 3rd party cooling (Like the NVSilencer 5), but doesn't fit. Card is a bit long, but nothing new to me--my 6800GT was the same length.

Pros: I purchased this card and installed it without any problems whatsoever. The card works well. I upgraded from a 6800GT model. I consider myself a gamer although the games I enjoy playing are less graphics-intensive than some of the more recent first-person-shooters on the market.

Cons: Overall I am pleased with this card, but I will say that upgrading from a 6800GT did not give me much in the way of performance. On paper this card is better than the 6800GT, but the overall gain is barely discernable.

Overall Review: I am always looking for ways to improve my aging PC. Being that it has an AGP motherboard, cards like this catch my eye. I just recently found an XFX card, 7950, for AGP that, on paper is much better than this 7800GS. XFX also offers a 7900 card that is better on paper than this 7800GS. As well, XFX's 7800GS is slightly better on paper. However, the reviews for these XFX cards are so bad that I'm shying away from getting any of them. I'll stick with my BFG card. I play World of Warcraft, Combat Mission Barbarossa to Berlin, Combat Mission Shock Force, Combat Mission Afrika Korps, and Theater of War. The only one of these games that comes close to taxing this card is Theater of War. My PC: Athlon XP 3200+ 32 bit processor, 2GB DDR400 RAM, Windows XP Pro, Creative Labs Gamer Sound card. Again, although my PC is a bit dated from a hardware perspective, it runs extremely well and is a solid machine. It is a rarity when I have any trouble with it.
