Pros: The MCP6P-M2 is a good board.

Cons: If you experience intermittent crashes, slow start-up or shut-down with this board, replace the SATA cable that came with it. Biostar Tech Support? .....naah, just throw it away.

Overall Review: I built two budget systems with this board (August of 2008). The first build went fine. The second build had intermittent boot problems right away. I swapped the SATA cable with one from my computer and that resolved that problem. Everything looked good, the owners were happy and I soon forgot about the whole incident. Weeks later, my computer crashed during a boot. This continued intermittently for weeks and I scratched my head a lot looking for the problem. Then I remembered the SATA cable from Biostar that I had swapped earlier. I replaced it and all the problems went away. Several weeks later the first build, which had been good from the start, crashed several times. Again, I replaced the SATA cable from Biostar and all is well.

Pros: Outstanding value, used this plus a Sempron 140 to build a new system as a mother's day present for a in-law, and was pretty floored after Windows 7 installed. I've been previously a fan of the 780G and 785G chipset-based boards, but couldn't really justify the cost for this build as it's just a browsing and emailing system - but *WOW*. Overall Win 7 score is 3.3 - graphics are 3.8 and 3.3 - plenty good for Aero. With the Sempron it'll even do 720p YoutTube HD in fullscreen, which is fine for what it's going to be used for. I've had an off and on relationship with Biostar, but this is a very solid product. I said in another review, but at work our techs have been building Phenom II/785G based system because of the bang for the buck they give - but I think we'll be using this combo for the Internet kiosks. Again, the bank for the buck is outstanding. BIOS features are excellent, allow for overclocking but not core unlocking :).

Cons: Nothing as far as I'm concerned. This is a very solid value for a basic board. I'm considering one for a HTPC build now, thanks to the PCI-E x16.

Overall Review: It's pretty amazing what you can build for around 200 bucks. This plus a the AMD 140 really work well for the money.

Overall Review: good lil mobo for htpc. had it almost a year with no problems. alright bios features, simple, didn't need anything too crazy for htpc anyway. sound is great have it running through 5.1 surround receiver. running an 8400gs no problem.

Pros: Great little board for the money.Setup couldn't be easier throw the board in,throw the driver disk in and it just does it's thing.I would be happy if all my installs went this smooth. Nice features,Windows 7 compatible,board lay-out is perfect,bios is simple and basic easy to get around,everything on the board worked perfectly...Life Is Good!

Cons: Only runs CPU's up to 95watts,Doesn't make coffee!

Overall Review: This is a great board for the first time builder.Very easy to understand.I set this up as a test rig and built it with all the spare parts I had around including an old Dell Dimension case which I modded.And I gotta tell ya I can fit the largest video card they got in this case with room to spare.Looks factory and runs at 27/C idle 30/C Load Included in the build is this board,FSP 450 PSU,An Athlon BE 2400 dualcore,the factory heatsink from my 920 Phenom II quad core,2 gigs of G.Skill 800,a SATA 250 gig Maxtor HD,an IDE DVD drive,and the Dell case. I remember stories of Biostar boards literally going up in flames which is why I stayed away from them.But since this was just a test rig I took the chance because this board was so cheap.Well don't worry about this board you won't be sorry.Read all the reviews and you'll see.

Pros: I had been previously using the Biostar NF61VM2 with the 6100 chipset. Though very decent boards they did not have the intelligent auto fan speed control and other features that this board has. The MCP6P seems to be the newest member of the NF family and works like a charm! With Bios auto fan speed the system runs quite, cool, and effeciently. Will definetly build future machines with this board!!

Cons: None... unlike the AMD690G I built recently this board has no problem at all with the AMD64 driver and Dual Core Optimizer software. No Cons at all!!

Overall Review: Paired with a Athlon64 X2 4200+ brisbane, 2GB pQi Turbo Single DDR2, Samsung 20x DVD burner, Seagate 250GB 16m cache HDD, Antec Basiq 350w PSU...wow.....very impressive. CPU Burn In & Norton Antivirus 2008 ran for an hour to max out the CPU at just 43c. Idle is 23c via CoreTemp app. Overall very impress with this board! Excellent buy!

Pros: Flopped it in the case with everything else and worked right out of the box. Using it as an Ubuntu 9.10 computer so can't comment on the drivers on the included cd. Ubuntu recognized everything right away including my D-Link wireless card, dual core processor, audio, video etc. Using 20 pin power connector in the 24 pin connector on the board with no issues.

Cons: Lowest memory voltage 1,95 volt. Using Kingston 512 Mb value ram 800 mHz 1.8V and hasn't fried yet!

Overall Review: Second Biostar board. First one is still working after 4 years of daily use. Expect this one to last as well.

Pros: Used this board 4 times easy to match up components and runs well used this in my own machine love it

Cons: if you run a big video card and use the sata it's a tight fit

Overall Review: running 4gb mem 3 hard drives 3.1 amd dual core nvidia 8800 gts 512mb video the only board that stopped is one that got hit by lightning but thank got this is still on the market easy fix

Pros: Great MB simple and basic. Works well with Athlon 5000, Kingston Ram pc6400 and Win XP

Cons: None

Overall Review: Put in a Geforce 8600 gt and it works good for gaming.
