Pros: Looks fantastic, 5 x 10w channels, alarm, touchscreen, internet connectivity via motherboard, extra temp probes and 3 pin extensions included.

Cons: Not really a con but fan step adjustment is 100rpm's, would have like 50rpm steps for better granularity. Recon software needs to be downloaded from Bitfenix's website. Would have liked to have ability to dim panel as it is bright, options are on and off only. Finally I would also have liked an option to lock the screen as occasionally I have touched the screen by mistake and changed settings.

Overall Review: Initially I purchased this to control my watercooling pump and the fans sitting on the two rads, however although the pump comes with pwm functionality it did not work with the controller. No biggy. I have hooked up 5 fans to the controller and it works perfectly in auto or manual mode. The controller is plugged in to a usb connection on the motherboard and once the Recon software is downloaded and installed the controller can be controlled from a windows application. The windows application allows for saved profiles, so I have a few setup for silent computing, gaming and benchmarking. Very polished fan controller and at a great price point.

Pros: 1. It supports up to 5 fans with 3 or 4 pin connectors. 2. Touch screen control 3. Fan RPM can be adjusted automatically to the temps via its temp sensors 4. Looks cool. 5. If you'd like, you could download and install its bundle software from BitFenix's website and control the fans within Windows

Cons: 1. I prefer to install as little software as possible, so I chose to pull its internal USB cable out and exclude an installation of fan control software. It runs fine without it, so I can't take off an egg just because of my personal preference.

Overall Review: 1. Beware! Its internal USB cable is glued to adjacent capacitors. If you'd like to pull it out, do it with your own risk! I didn't notice this until I pulled the cable out. Luckily the capacitors stayed. 2. Since it has an internal USB 2.0 connector, it might as well include a couple USB ports.

Pros: Controls 5 fans. Temp. thermistors tested good for 2 sig. figs within range of 20-70 C.

Cons: The screen is trash. The software hasn't been updated in over a year and is also trash. The tape is useless.

Overall Review: Software - use Phoebetria. Thermistor mounting - superglue and zip ties.

Pros: -Very nice display that responds to touch well. -Installs easily. -Included internet accessible software is a handy tool to have. -Cables are long enough for even the largest of cases.

Cons: -Temp probes are pretty much useless unless you put some real heavy thought into permanent placement for them and their wires. -The included tape is garbage, use electrical tape or pressure mount them between two surfaces if your going to use the probes. -You have to run the software as an administrator for it to work.

Overall Review: All in all this was a good purchase as it makes it very easy and simple to adjust the fan speeds on all my case fans. I found if your going to use the probes it's best to place them in the heat sinks as close to the component as possible, this takes some tricky rigging to work. I ended up just bundling them up and zip tieing them next to the unit as I just control the fans manually anyways.

Pros: Automatically adjusts fans based on YOUR SET TEMPERATURE. Can communicate with your PC to allow settings adjustment through Windows. The screen can be shut off for when you don't want the extra light. Huge touch screen. Can be used with PWM fans. (doesn't use the 4th pin) Unused fan cables can be removed. Can turn fans completely off. Can turn off touch screen beep.

Cons: The piggy back USB connector. The one on the end does nothing. You have to use the connector in the "middle" of the cord for it to work with your PC. I removed the extra "blank" length with a needle by pushing the pins out and set it aside. The included instructions just tell you to connect "to motherboard usb header" but not which connector to use specifically. It doesn't control certain fans properly at lower RPMs. Thermal probes can't be removed. A little slow to bring fans down to set RPM.

Overall Review: I've tested it with and without the USB connected and in auto/manual mode. At lower RPMs it doesn't keep the fans constant. The Silverstone FM121 could be set for 900 RPMs and seem to "pulse" or "breathe" between 900>1100 RPMs. It doesn't stay constant until you get to half power around 1700>1800 RPM's on the controller. I also tested the Rexus DF121225BH fan which had the same issue. I can't say how that might sound once they're inside a case since I'm not currently using either of the fans mentioned. I'm using AeroCool Shark 120mm fans which stay exactly at 700 RPM at the lowest setting with this controller. It seems to be a semi-common issue. It may have something to do with the way the controller operates the fans or just certain motors/brands. I can't speak for the official software as I haven't used it. I didn't like having to use an internet browser to operate the fan from my desktop. I knew of another program called Phoebetria that connects to the controller within its own window. The program can't operate it remotely yet, but I have no need for that function. The thermal probes are hot glued on and cannot be removed. So I had to find places for all five.

Pros: -All sensor and temp sensors and controller channels work properly. -networking interface works for fan controlling as described -does what it needs to do -comes with replacement 3pin fan extensions and temperature probes.

Cons: none at this time

Overall Review: I've always wanted a temp monitor/fan combo that I didn't have to squint at to see anything. Sure, I could have purchased some of the other options that are available but I didn't want to use two 5.25 bays or have things trailing out the back of the case. It's a rare thing to find "EXACTLY" what you want, but this happens to be one of those rare times.

Pros: It looks great, can be controlled from a tablet, runs many fans and supports a wide range of power levels. It also includes replacement bits and pieces which is really nice. It feels sturdy.

Cons: It's very sluggish. I'm primarily interested in PC silencing and it's very difficult to do back to back listening tests with this thing because it will adjust up and down (sometimes to full blast) until it gets near the RPMs you've asked for. I would prefer to set target voltage and accept the RPMs that produces, which is how a traditional fan controller works. The only reaosn I didn't use one is that I was concerned that it wouldn't fit with the front panel on my case. On that subject, I had to remove one of the toolless clamps from my case to install this because it isn't as deep as an ODD. Just double check that your case allows this. The last issue is the software. It works, but it isn't clear and a bit buggy. For example, you can create profiles and save them but the functions to delete or use them don't appear to work (at least not in Firefox).

Overall Review: I feel a bit disappointed that the reviews out there don't mention these things as they are very significant sticking points in a device that is supposed to give you more control over your machine. That said, It does its job well enough for my needs which don't involve too much fiddling once it's set. It also really does look excellent in my Obsidian 550D.

Pros: * Works with just about any fan with 3 or 4 pins * Granular control of fan speed: 1 degree can go from 0 to full speed or anywhere in between.

Cons: Wish this was available for more and less fans. For tower servers need one or 2 more, for desktops hard to use all 5.

Overall Review: I only use the Phoebetria open source software. If you can RDP to the box, no need for any other remote access.
