Pros: Just wanted to write this quick review to confirm that this exact drive works with Xbox 360. (Search the internet for "Hddhackr xbox 360")
I have the older model Xbox 360 and had a slow 20gb drive. (the larger grey drives, not newer black drives.)
I connected the drive to my desktop, followed the instructions listed if you search the aforementioned criteria, flashed the proper bin file, and disassembled my original 20GB Xbox hard drive and swapped this one with the original drive.
The Xbox detected it with no issues. I reformatted it and Grand Theft Auto reinstalled in a fraction of the time it had before. In addition, maybe it is a placebo but it seems a lot less laggy when there is a lot going on.
No tutorials I came across mentioned this drive as being supported but I have GTA V loaded on it and paused as it type this. :)
(the file needed to flash to the drive with hddhackr is called "HDDSS500.bin." Search that and it's easily found also. Should be 3.5kb in size and 4kb saved to disk.)
For me, it was free and this compatibility is awesome. Best pros ever!
Cons: No cons here.
Overall Review: I didn't buy this drive for this purpose. My laptop hard drive failed and Dell sent this as a replacement. But I decided to go with an SSD so this was left over. I took a chance and tried the tutorial and it worked!
Pros: Bare drive, but it was wrapped in some good quality bubble(for a change) seems to have been a change of direction in shipping, and without doubt for the better..
Good value(on sale)-great warranty
No problems whatsoever
Cons: wasn't a 2tb 10k drive....:-(
Overall Review: WD service for me has been stellar. Problems I had with my gaming rig drive were quickly addressed and excellent service provided, which means WD has won my business for now.
Pros: Purchased this as a replacement HDD in my laptop. WD black drives are the best! Overall performance increase compared the older 5400RPM drive that was failing. Made a one to one clone of the drive using a utility and was back up and running in a matter of minutes.
One of the best things about this drive is the 5 year limited warranty on it. If it fails in that timeframe WD will replace it. I have replaced drives through them before and it is a painless process. Just make sure you register it first.
This was on sale when I purchased it so it was a great price point.
Pros: These have been a great drive (see previous review)
Cons: Out of the last 12 or so of these 5 have been DOA. Be sure to test them as soon as they arrive. NewEgg must have received a bad batch.
Overall Review: The ones that arrive and work continue to run great.

These are getting less reliable7/17/2014 12:39:18 PM
Pros: We have a handful of these drives. When they get past the first hour they work great and seem to be lasting.
Cons: About 40% are DOA for whatever reason. Problem is we were keeping these as spares and they didn't get tested when they arrived. What a surprise when you put a brand new drive in a machine and all you hear is the disk grinding.
Overall Review: Be sure to test these when they arrive.

Great 7200 rpm upgrade drive10/16/2013 10:35:02 AM
Pros: 500GB, 7200rpm, 5 Year Awarranty, Quiet, Very Well Packaged
Cons: Not really a con but only 16mb Cache- knew this when I purchased it. The 3.5" 500GB Black has 64MB cache.
Overall Review: Bought this to upgrade the stock hard drive in a Lenovo 3000N500 4233 Laptop, purchased back in Feb 2009 from Newegg. The stock drive was 160GB WD blue that had performed well over the years but was getting full and slow. The new 500GB drive is deffinently a major improvement over the 160GB drive. The drive I recieved is made in Malaysia with a manufacturedate of AUG 21 2013.
System Specs: Lenovo 3000N500 4233 Laptop
Intel Pentium Dual Core T3200 2.0GHZ
Memory 3gb pc2-5300
Windows Vista Buisness 32bit OS
On a side note Newegg has finally learend to package their hard drives well. Mine was put inside a heavy duty multiple air cushion for hard drives. Alot better than just barely buble wrapped or wrapped in paper as they used to do.

Pros: Installed quickly in laptop, imaged with the saved drive image from the original hard drive, running again in no time. Faster than the stock hard drive.
Cons: None.
Overall Review: I always purchase WD drives, usually the Black series because they are fast and reliable. If this laptop had a second drive bay, I might have also added an SSD drive for booting and programs, but large enough ones for a single drive bay are just too expensive. I always purchase my hard drives from NewEgg, good price and good delivery.
