Pros: Great price for everything this computer has. The back pack and mouse are very nice and work great. Screen is very clear and bright.

Cons: Asus spent time providing a mat finish to this laptop, why not make the keys mat? They hold finger prints, and with the finish of the lap top they stand out.

Overall Review: This computer does come with soft ware for Blue ray, not sure what the other review was saying its Power DVD 9.

Pros: GREAT LAPTOP HAS TAKEN EVERYTHING I HAVE THROWN AT IT WITH NO HICCUPS. EVERYTHING I HAVE COME TO EXPECT FROM ASUS.

Pros: Picked this laptop up for my son for Christmas, but not from newegg, but I still wanted to write a review. He will be going off to college soon and he wanted something that would be semi-portable but still be able to game on (BF:BC2 / WoW / etc.) Laptop came packaged well and comes with may of the perks not found by other desktop replacements in this price point (laptop bag / 2 yr warranty / 8gb memory / etc.) Laptop cools EXTREMELY well. I'm not sure what Mayako (the previous reviewer) did with his laptop but it not only cools better than the G73JH but has several other improvements... these include Nvidia GPU - No more GSOD (gray screen of death) issues with the G series Cooler Temps Split mouse button (left and right click) Great warranty (2 years) Easy keyboard removal (pop tabs) My son wiped the computer and installed a fresh version of Windows 7 64bit to remove the bloat, but after the reinstall everything is great and he couldn't ask for more.

Cons: Only con I found with the laptop is the gloss screen. Some people prefer matte finish over gloss and my son is one of them. He will be using an external monitor for most of time so it's not a huge issue, but something to look out for. Laptop is easy to dis-assemble and upgrade, and if you want to max the memory out on this unit you can "almost" do so. You would need to tear the motherboard out of the laptop to get to the 4th dimm slot on the underside of the board (annoying). There are some great tear down guides on youtube if you search for them. So in review other than the "hidden" 4th dimm module there isn't too many "cons" with this model.

Overall Review: The J73Jw-A1 comes with the laptop bag / mouse and all the accessories. The XA1 does NOT come with the extra goodies and accessories + less memory installed. Overall great laptop. Watch out the for the new "sandy" i7 cpu from Intel in Q1 2011 which Asus will most likely be jumping on. The new cpu core coming out is a new i7 socket design so just be aware that a new socket style is coming out soon (you may want to hold off a month or two before plunging $$$ into a new laptop).... then again all technology is constantly evolving so if you like it buy it. =) I'm glad I did!

Pros: Great laptop for the money, this beast seems to be the best bang for your buck. It stays extremely cool, i have yet to feel any heat off this thing even in my lap. Both top and bottom stay cool, of course i dont block the intake vents either. -Stays very cool -Durable sleek rubberized finish -USB 3.0 -Best Picture i've seen by FAR on any computer monitor, be it desktop or laptop. -Excellent sound quality. Also, you can max the volume and there is no distortion. -Runs games very well at medium / high settings. Anything higher and it effects performance a little on newer games.

Cons: Its not available with a 480M or 2x 460M option and the customer support is notoriously horrendous. If you wind up with a flawed system I pray you have better success than previous people who've had to RMA anything to Asus.

Overall Review: I would recommend this to anyone who games, or needs a performance/enthusiast laptop. I've had no video card issues with the newest drivers (260.58) from the nvidia website.

Pros: CPU, GPU, Memory, HDD, Screen resolution, USB 3.0

Cons: Had trouble installing a Corsair P128 SSD. USB 3.0 not giving me what I expected but could be other side of connection, not characterized yet.

Overall Review: I replaced the OS HDD with a Corsair P128 SSD (from Newegg) in the SATA P0 slot and could not get my G73JW-A1 to boot anything from the DVD player. I tried a Windows 7 OEM disk, Acronis True Image disk and the recovery DVD's that I created with the G73. All attempts to boot something ended in a '_' flashing in the upper left corner and the DVD not spinning. After lots of trial and error my final solution was... "my" ASUS G73JW-A1 will not boot "my" Corsair P128 SSD in the P0 SATA slot (right bay looking at the bottom and one with the original OS drive). The SSD must be placed in the left bay, P4 SATA slot and the boot order changed in the BIOS. Then it works fine. FYI: I used a program called: ABRbeta.exe (stands for Activation Backup & Restore) to backup the factory installed Windows 7 Home Prem activation and restore it after I did a clean install of Windows 7 Home Prem from an OEM disk. Worked great and highly recommended. You can find it free on the web, search "ABRbeta".

Pros: Great product and performance in all areas.

Overall Review: The G73JW-A1 comes with a backpack and gaming mouse, yet Newegg offers a combo savings with a 3rd party backpack - why? The real eye opener is that this is $150 less, just about everywhere else, because the new G73SW-A1 is out soon. Probably why Asus is offering the rebate on this mode.

Pros: Laptop has great design and packed with all the bells and whistles. i7, GTX 460, 8GB of RAM, 1 TB, Blu-ray and Win7 premium. It's definetely fast and has an awesome clear and crisp display screen. Price is less compared to Dell's alienware which would have cost me $2200 for the same spec.

Cons: 2 Main issues: 1) Has a Blu-ray player but no Blu-ray software to play your movies. You think Asus would provide this for a $1800 laptop. 2) Customer service is bad, they hire people who has a bad attitude and no technical skills. They definetly won't try to help you so they'll come up with excuses. One CS advice me to "look for it in the download section." I called on 3 seperate occassions regarding the blu-ray software and issues with the power switching from AC to Batt mode. 3 different CS's agent same attitude, rude and don't care. One guy just flat out tried to ignore me and keep asking to repeat what I said. Very frustrating and when ask for a manager or supervisor they either put you on a very long hold or hang up.

Overall Review: Asus needs to clean the house in their customer service support and I think this company is heading into the right direction. Great product and price so far.... customer support has ways to go...

Pros: I got this PC on Christmas and I have not found problems with it. I manly got this for editing videos and music and I know it will work fine. This thing has a lot of power and memory.
