Pros: Heavy and solid, high build quality is immediately evident. Provides ideal ventilation and plenty of fan mounts. Perfect placement of front ports and buttons. Excellent cable management Well designed drive bays External SATA dock is a neat idea Very roomy for a mid-tower Monolithic design looks even better in person Button up front to turn off the fan LED when you need to class things up a bit Just kidding, I never turn it off, but I like the option Lots of nice little details, whoever engineered this thing was really paying attention

Cons: It has made my imagination less indulgent. When I make that wishlist of the stupid-expensive PC that I'll never build (come on, we all do it) I STILL pick this case. I can't help it.

Overall Review: I like turtles.

Pros: - It's huge! From the looks of the pictures, it seems like a mid-sized case. But no, it's considered a mid-ATX but this thing is big! - Stylish design, blue front lights (able to turn off!), tons of fans with a couple free fan slots. - Plenty of hard drive slots, plenty of 5.25'' slots (could probably also use for HDD's if you got adapters and if needed) - Price. Some great quality for the price. - Dock on the top for SATA and eSATA. Nifty and very useful. - Easy to take apart and clean, mostly. Critical for the dust accumulating with all that airflow. Screens behind the mesh metal to catch some of the bigger dust particles. - Equipped for old school watercooling systems. (Plenty of space for the newer all-in-one systems as well. - Great cable management! Reduces the 'clutter' in your build.

Cons: - I still haven't been able to figure out how to clean the mesh covering the front fan [the one with the blue LEDs] and it's apparent. When lit, you can see the layer of dust clogging it up. I've tried cleaning it with an old toothbrush, wet rag, anything I could find. After removing the entire front face panel of the case, it doesn't seem like there's any way to disassemble the front mesh without breaking it or wearing it out. I must be missing something in the manual :^s - Not really a big con, but with my motherboard the RAM barely fits and partially butts up against the top fan. It fits, however, and I know it's particular to my setup.

Overall Review: This is my first bout with a Cooler Master product outside a couple fans on the past, which have lasted thus far. I'm quite impressed! This is a quality case, sturdy and equipped with many features and accomodations at a decent price to quality ratio. Not sure as to Cooler Master's repair/replacement warranty, but I hope I don't ever have to find out. This case should be good for both a mid or high-end build. My recommendation if you're considering this case is to check out some youtube reviews as well to get as close to a hands-on experience with it as you can. If you decide to go with it, I don't think you'd be disappointed. Though I review this product with as neutral bias as I can, personally, I think I just became a Cooler Master fan. Since having this case a few months, I also scored a Cooler Master liquid cpu cooler as well for cheap which I am also pleased with. My impression with Cooler Master: Budget prices for quality products.

Pros: This is my tenth custom build (my third with a CM case) and this is by far the nicest case I've worked with. You can tell on first inspection that a lot of thought went into designing this case. The layout is very intelligent, there's plenty of room to work and cable management was a breeze. The quality of workmanship is excellent, rolled edges to avoid cuts and the black finish inside the case is a very nice touch. The top and front bezels as well as the side panels came off easily and reassembly was just as easy. My optical drive slid into the 5.25" bay easily and seated firmly with the locking mechanism (a first for me). The trays for the 3.5" drive bays are sturdy and easy to access. The 2.5" adapter tray worked very well with my SSD. There is ample room for fan-mania if you so choose, as well as space for a complete water-cooling setup too. There's even pre-drilled pass throughs for the radiator tubing on the back panel. I would definitely recommend this case!

Cons: The position of the cutout in the motherboard tray behind the CPU needs to be adjusted down another 1/2" or so. As it is, the bottom two screws for my CPU cooler on my ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 align just below the bottom of the cutout. A minor oversight but worth noting for those who desire easy access to the back of their mobo. Also, the instruction booklet could be a little more detailed

Overall Review: Windowed side panel should be available mid-February per CM customer support.

Pros: Excellent overall. Very roomy, good access to everything. Cable space under the mobo is fabulous! Stock cooling is super, and the thing just looks great. Not overly flashy, but not a plain box either. I love that I can put my power supply in right side up to and have the vents on the bottom, way better than the Antec in that respect.

Cons: Only thing I had trouble with was the 3-1/2 bay mounting for my card reader. Isn't real secure, but enough that the card reader isn't going anywhere either.

Overall Review: I spent more time deciding on the case for my new build than any other component. I definitely made the right decision. As long as you don't want a windowed neon crazy case, you will love this one.

Pros: -Well designed, no sharp edges. Modern but still has that classic look that it seems many manufacturers are getting away from. Significantly smaller than my past favorite, the CM Stacker, but also significantly less cluttered due to improved case design. -Toolless design is superlative when coming from older iterations such as in the CM Stacker- what once took minutes now takes seconds and it actually works without screws. -Space for heat sink up to 177mm height, vga to 304mm width - Space for many fans, option for top or bottom mount radiator -Cable management well thought out for my purposes, able to route almost everything behind mobo tray -Value added features work. X-Dock is ingenious, imo and the vga bracket works, is not just a gimmick (see cons)

Cons: -As others have said, CPU retaining hole is undersized and/or not sighted correctly for use with my mobo. I'd like to see it cut larger with correspondingly larger vent added for thin 120mm fan in place of the 80. At least one manufacturer makes a 120mm that would fit. -More precautionary than a con: The VGA card bracket required very careful adjustment to make it work correctly with Zalman VF1000 cooler. Could possibly not work with all coolers. -I agree with others who have said that the instruction manual could be more detailed- larger diagrams at the least- but, on the other hand the case is designed so well that just anyone should figure it out rather quickly with just a small amount of tinkering.

Overall Review: I've done many builds in the last 15 or 16 years, many cheapish cases and a few each from antec, cooler master and lian li. Lian li does have an edge in overall build quality but the 690 Advanced is definitely my new favorite and, imo, probably can't be beat in terms of build quality and features per $ spent. I also have the regular 690; it is also a great case but is more for regular users or casual gamers while the 690 advanced should admirably serve all but the most hardcore of power users and gamers. For my money, the advanced is well worth the slight premium for the better build quality alone- let alone the other added features.

Cons: This is an info post for the specific 80x80x15 fans that will fit and work in the CM690 II Advanced case.

Overall Review: I ordered the R4-SPS-20AK-GP since it was made by CM and is mentioned as a specific solution for the CM690 II Advanced. Will post the update when I install it.

Pros: Roomy Toolless Sideways HDD bays. Lots of room behind the mobo tray for cable routing. 2 140mm and 1 120mm fan, with tons of places to put more if that's your thing. The 'Advanced' features are great - built-in SATA dock, 3.5" drive tray (that can hold two SSDs), and a vid card support contraption. I don't think I'll use the latter, but if you're doing SLI/Crossfire, it seems like it would be handy.

Cons: The biggest con with this case is that the PSU filter is sandwiched between the PSU and the case. Want to clean that filter? Then you have to remove your PSU to get it out. It's a really poorly thought-out feature. Also, the top 140mm fan on mine was a bit loud. I actually ended up just unplugging it, and don't seem to be any worse off temp-wise. It's a really well-ventilated case.

Overall Review: Great case, with just a couple of little niggles. If you're thinking about getting the standard 690 II, you might as well spring for this 'Advanced' model instead. As of this writing, with shipping factored in it's only about three bucks more. When I bought mine it was actually CHEAPER than the Standard because shipping was free then.

Pros: Take time to read other reviews. The Pros have already been enumerated. But this is a good case overall w/ a lot of flexibility & expansion capabilities. It is not particularly quiet if loaded with Hi Perf comp'ts. But a Corvette has a different sound than a Cadillac too. By definition "Noise" is unwanted sound. I personally like the sound of performance and thus wouldn't call it "noise". A well-ventilated case is going to radiate sound/noise (you pick) more than an enclosed case. Also, take time to read the Cons reviews. One thing I noted was the complaint that certain users were experiencing PC reset upon touching the case or inserting a USB flash drive. In my humble opinion, this is simply due to ground-related ESD. Many reviews complimented how great it looks inside, ~ "all painted black". Others mention that the mobo standoffs and screws are hard to use. This adds up to a mobo that is not properly grounded to the case & quite likely @ the PSU. (con't @ Cons)

Cons: This is why I recommend using a simple VOM as you go about building your PC. When I 1st installed the brass mobo stand-offs there was very poor continuity between most of the stand-offs & the chassis/mobo tray. And it isn't as simple as it only takes one stand-off & mounting screw to establish a good ground. If you look at your mobo, not all the ground points are interconnected at the mounting holes. So what I did was get out my hi-speed rotary tool w/ a miniture wire buffing wheel & clean off the paint at each mounting hole on the mobo tray. I did the same at the PSU mounting holes. The grounding will be superb then & my bet the ESD problem will subside or be averted. Pay close attention to the # of mobo mounting holes. Mine had 9 (most do). But the mobo tray has 12 spots. If you install all 12 you'll likely short something out on the bottom of your mobo. So be careful. Don't tighten the brass stand-offs too tightly either.
