A Vendor Soultions is why.....12/3/2014 7:21:47 PM
Pros: For my new 2011-v3 build I wanted to go water cooling, and black Friday brought me perhaps the last CM Haf XM case to be sold here ( appear to have been discontinued) and the 200 Series Seidon water cooler. Neat fit, no worries.
Hot swap docks a nice touch and my EATX board fit comfortably. Easy Access with the latch operated side panel ( like my old trusty xw5000). Arrived intact..which I breathed easy for as I need to finish the build this weekend.
The side panel design made it really easy to make a neat setup for cables and that sliding cover by the PS is a nice touch.
Caught this on a great deal at the lowest published price in 4 months
Cons: as mentioned in other reviews the sleds seem a little flimsy. The power supply air filter issues blah blah blah. For me it wasn't running into any issues installing the water cooler system and not having another monster sized case at home. I would have liked a fan controller and esata port, but I can deal with these issues..would have liked all the ports possible but again, choices had to be made.
The documentation was far less flashy then the box..should have been the other way around
Overall Review: Being on a deadline for this build, I didn't really have the luxury of waiting for a case to go on a good sale. While I missed the half stacker..the XM took my EATX MB and provided a good value.
A 2011-v3 build is pricy right now, but I used every coupon code and rebate I could find here. My purchases require a good value, and the Haf XM seems to fit the bill.
The last bit for this system, the cpu arrives tomorrow and I'm ready.
Great case, but room for improvement9/6/2012 10:14:36 AM
Pros: This case is HUGE! Tons of room. Lots of drive bays. Love the front hot-swap bays, but see cons. Lots of fans. Room for lots more fans. Includes all screws to mount 5 more fans, and to convert all 7 3.5" bays to 2.5" bays.
No sharp edges inside. I was actually concerned my new build wouldn't work without the obligatory blood sacrifice from cutting myself!
Cons: The 2 drives in the front hot swap bays get no cooling and the drives in there get hot, especially the bottom one. This is a very poor design. There really needs to be a side fan for this area.
Bad left side door release mechanism. It just doesn't stay closed. If you don't have the screws secured in the back of the panel, it will just pop open and the side will literally fall off! If the screws are in, the top front corner will pop open a little.
It would be really cool if all 3.5" bays had a back plane like the front 3.5" bays. As it is now, you must take both sides off of the case to add or remove a hard drive.
Really needs to be packed better. The first one I received had all of the outer plastic pieces broken (top of box was caved in). Shippers are rough on boxes, and with the front of the case (most sensitive part) facing up in the box (the weakest part of the box), padding on the top of the box is needed in case the top of the box gets abused.
Overall Review: The huge 200mm front fan really only cools the center 4 3.5" drive bays well. The top and bottom drives get a little toasty. You can easily add 2 more 120mm fans on the other side of the bays though, so not really a con.
The HDD activity light is impossible to see unless you are looking down on the top of the case. That could have been done better - the power light is certainly visible enough!
Front fan LED on/off button is identical to the system reset button. It's on the on the opposite side of the power button, but accidents happen...
It would be nice if there were some cable tie-down tabs on the right side instead of a double row of tie-downs on the left side since that is where all your hard drive power and controller cables run as well as all the wiring for the 200mm fans and top controls and ports.
Pros: Everything about this thing is class. In my early days, I was a feverish Lian-Li fanboy. I think I've owned about every one of their cases... But the ease of build and forethought that went into Cooler Master case makes me forget why Lian-Li ever held water in my mind. This is the greatest case I've ever had the pleasure of working with... Truly excellent. I'll never let this thing go!
Cons: The case is a mix of metal and plastic parts... But it's all coated in black and hard to tell the difference. Still, plastic is a bit of a bummer for some... Doesn't bother me though.
Overall Review: I don't know how a mid-tower case can get any better. Cooler Master has really outdone them all... And for an unbelievably good price to boot!

Very Solid, Roomy case4/24/2013 6:10:51 PM
Pros: -Cable management/concealment. Plenty of areas to run cables, a keep them tucked away
-Fans (3 Pre-installed) A 200mm LED fan in the front, a 200mm at the top, and a 140mm in the back. Also plenty of areas to add more fans or a liquid cooled radiator.
-QUIET! The big fans move enough air that they don't have to run at high RPMs, so the case stays quiet.
-Lots of room to get your big hands in there and work
-Cost. This is a high end case for an enthusiast, at a great price.
Cons: None yet. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice this case is
Overall Review: The LED fan in the front, has an on/off switch at the top of the case. Very convenient, and an added feature.
My screw packets had fallen out of the box they were shipped in, but found them on the other side of one of the side access panels. So don't freak out if you can't find the accessories packet, just keep looking.

Pros: Even with only the 3 stock fans, this case runs cool and quiet, keeps my i5 3570k at 34c with it's stock cooler.
Has all the amenities one could want.
Cons: I sometimes wish I had a window, but I prefer the sturdy cover, which has mounting points for two small fans, or one large one.
Overall Review: The hot-swap bays are what sold me, as I'm frequently recovering data off of laptop hard drives for people, and taking apart my external cases each time was cumbersome.
Pros: I shopped around for quite some time. I was a little iffy on the design, but the cable management/door really got me. After a year, I like this box better than when I bought it. Everything feels solid on it, no sharp edges, nicely painted interior, the tool less bays all work just fine. At first, I didn't love the plastic around the edges, but it is solid and not cheap feeling at all and has protected the case when it got moved and swung into a doorway pretty hard. It is really thick plastic and also made a handy part to drill into for a little mod I did. The mesh on the top worried me at first, but it supports multiple cats enjoying the new space heater and hasn't ever flexed/bent/deformed in the slightest. Really incredibly solid all around and has held up very well.
The xdock is really nice, especially when fixing other people's computers. two hard drives transferring as quick as they need to both hooked up to Sata3 on my board. USB 3 ports on the front w/o passthroughs (probably pretty standard now, but a year ago they were hard to find). The buttons are solid and don't feel like they'll wear out in a few years. Big slow fans move quite a bit of air through it very quietly. I even like the little tray up top. It's kind of pointless, but comes in handy all the time to hold thumb screws, thumb drives, doodads and the occasional phone.
Plenty of room to work, I think you'd have a hard time finding something that didn't fit. A small cavern behind the board for a rat's nest plus the PSU shroud really helps keep everything tidy looking. If you're lazy about cable management, nobody ever needs to know about it.
I'd buy one of these again in a minute. If you were to ask me for a big, solid, wind tunnel of a case for a decent price, I'd point to toward the HAF XM without a second thought.
Cons: A couple of nit-picky things thrown in out of fairness:
The xdock holds 3.5 drives by means of little pins held in with rubber grommets, these can be fidgety sometimes.
To lay the case down flat on it's side, you have to remove the side panel behind the board.
It really is pretty heavy.
The front fan light controller will really only work to toggle the light for the front fan.
My cats step all over the power button. I had to put a toggle switch in line to disable it.

Great but it be greater2/27/2013 3:50:07 AM
Pros: 1- Give you the feeling of Full tower and still fit on your Disk.
2- A lot of space inside.
3- Hot Swap Trays.
Cons: 1- Hard drive trays specially the hot swap look and feel cheap.
2- Cheap plastic parts you do not expect to find in a Cooler Master
3- Hot swap trays have cheap build and poor mechanism
4- No 3.5 " and no 5.25 to 3.5 Converter.
5- 5.25" lock mechanism are not as good as the one in Haf X
Overall Review: One of the best Mid tower cases yet with great Value but some plastic parts look and feel cheap and drive trays need some work.
I recommend this case for every one.
Great; Not Just for the Money10/28/2014 8:53:55 AM
Pros: Two 200mm *silent* fans.
One 140mm *silent* fan.
Overall beautiful looks.
Nice, not cheap opening mechanism.
Great steel thumbscrews.
Supports (unofficially) XL-ATX.
Very sturdy (~0.0031in steel side panels.)
Great cable management.
Support for 9 SSDs, one mounted behind motherboard.
Cons: Not much space for a radiator. No push-pull support, even for H100i.
No 360mm radiator support without minor modding.
Overall Review: Great for anyone. Borderline Mid Tower, almost a Full.
