Question 1

This question may sound a bit weird, but, I was wondering if this keyboard is one that I could put into my dishwasher to clean? Ever since I heard about doing it this way, I've kept my (very) basic keyboard shiny n grit free this way. I would hate to spend this money and then destroy the keyboard by doing something stupid.

Absolutely Not. The dishwasher is not the problem per se, but rather ensuring all the remaining moisture is evaporated quickly to prevent corrosion of the metal parts and solder. And that there is no moisture left when voltage is present. Due to the small interior areas of the mechanical switches that are almost completely closed, moisture will certainly remain for a very long time.

The best thing for cleaning electronic devices is a non conductive quick drying solvent that will not damage solder or the IC substrate. Look for high purity Isopropyl Alcohol (ie. 99+ percent) or a product specifically labeled for Electronics.

Question 2

Is the software really as bad as I see people posting about?

I have this Keyboard, while I love the features.  The software is a work in process.  At times it will not save my settings, but that is the only flaw I have seen so far.  Also, you will need to manually update any drivers/firmware.  Also, at times it will stop registering your products and you will need to restart CUE.  More of a nuisance then anything else.

I think the last thing the while I love the keyboard, yes the software needs a bit more tweaking.  Still an amazing keyboard.  I have come from Razer's 2013 BlackWidow, Logitech G series keyboards also.

The keys are louder, but the response is fantastic.  If I wanted a quieter key  press with the same feedback, go with Logitech G series.  Either way it really depends on you, the software as I mentioned an annoyance that is being updated constantly.

Question 3

Does this keyboard have to be wired directly to the computer or is there a USB/wireless option? I love this keyboard but need it to be wireless.

As far as I know it has to be wired to the PC, which makes sense considering everything this keyboard has.

Can this keyboard be used with the Ubuntu Linux OS?

Yes. But the software used to control the rgb will not work.
