Pros: Rock solid construction Great for low profile needs Long cable
Cons: Flimsy wrist rest
Overall Review: The Corsair K70 RGB MK.2 Low Profile mechanical keyboard is a really great entry into the mechanical keyboard market. Those who want the beefy strength and responsiveness of a mechanical keyboard but also don’t want it taking up all their desk top real estate will see this model as a great compromise. In the box is the keyboard, a wrist rest, replacement key options for WASD and QWERDF, along with a key puller tool, and a paper user manual and warranty. One of the first things you’ll notice about the K70 RGB MK.2 is it’s absolutely built like a tank. The whole top of the keyboard including the base the keys sit on is very thick brushed aluminum. The weave sleeved cord is roughly 90 inches long and includes a handy secondary USB pass through plug. This seems intent on you plugging your mouse into, as the pass through port is located on the back middle of the keyboard. The problem with this though, is who has a mouse with a short cord? If you don’t plug your mouse into it, it’ll be a really awkward location to plug in USB drives and whatnot. The wrist rest, while fairly comfortable with a rubberized top, seems flimsy and cheap compared to the rest of the keyboard. I’d like to have seen the brushed aluminum continue onto it as well. Rubberized feet mean this keyboard does not slide around in the least. The K70 RGB MK.2’s keys have a great feel with the Cherry MX low profile switches. They’re not as clackety as the full sized switches but still definitely give you the mechanical keyboard feel. The letters are nice and bold, and the LED coloring shows through them well. While most of the keys are smooth topped (with a slight concaveness to them), the space bar and extra bonus keys provided have a pleasant diamond-plate like texture to them and are a convex shape. The number pad, home group keys and arrow keys are all in the appropriate places with expected spacing. The volume control is a metal rolling wheel style and feels very solid and smooth. You get media keys for stop, back, forward, and play/pause. There’s also some buttons for controlling the RGB display via pre-programmed sets of lighting effects. The lighting effects can be customized with the Corsair iCUE software (a hefty 300MB download and 550MB install, why?). It’s intuitive and designed to work with other Corsair RGB devices to give your entire system the same look. Most of the effects worked well, however I could not get the equalizer (the VOID VISUALIZER) to work on my system, not sure why. The iCUE software also allows you to change the polling rate of the keyboard to 125 Hz, 250 Hz, 500 Hz, and 1000 Hz (default). Overall the K70 RGB MK.2 Low Profile keyboard from Corsair is an awesome keyboard for a fair price. If desk space is not a big deal to you, you could spend a little more and opt for Corsair’s K95 version which is not low profile and includes six extra programmable keys. A solid five eggs for the K70 though!
Pros: Unboxing this keyboard, first impression, looks and feels (Goldilocks’) correct. Thoughtfully packed, opening the box the keyboard appears rather than a lot of gratuitous packaging material. Removing it from the carton, its black anodized aircraft-grade aluminum frame, sizeable rubber feet and ample cable are impressive. It is plug & play, without downloading software; top left button adjacent to the sun (brightness), toggle through three preprogramed lighting effects. Akin to science fiction, imagine a self-service kiosk equipped with this keyboard augmented with an oversized curved screen; something the designers of the futuristic Tomorrowland might have envisioned. I am familiar with an earlier version of this keyboard, herein, there is a marked precipitable light processing technology improvement. From my prospective, top shelf computer gear is referred to as gaming; the manufacturer has labelled this keyboard, gaming, based upon high-quality (Cherry MX Low Profile “SPEED” mechanical switches) and integration with programmable Corsair Utility Engine (CUE). Quick start: As previously said, there are three built-in profiles; my favorite is a mesmerizing color shifting left to right light wave. Create your own virtual light magic if you prefer (understandably, there is an experimental learning curve). To jump start the process, YouTube (tutorial videos) can help. Admittingly, I am not a touch typist, although I have the keyboard memorized – but – need to peek at the keys; this keyboard has the “BEST” visual recognition I have seen. Keys are BOLD & BRIGHT (adjustable), visual recognition on the fly a breeze. Adding color & rhythm adds spice to mundane tasks > I strongly recommend this keyboard for its utilitarian value, ranging from grade school (increasing learning attention span) to livening the lives of the elderly.
Cons: Buying this primarily for Office 365 or other intense typing application, the textured space bar may feel irritable, solvable with a piece of electrical tape. Software needs to be downloaded, (relatively) large file (317 MB); CD not included. The contained within instructions are inadequate, need to refer to online resources. Constructive suggestion: The term RAPIDFIRE subliminally implies (outlawed) bump stops; evoking a strong emotional reaction. Cross marketing this to educational & therapeutic clientele calls for shedding this (appropriate for the gaming market) negative connotation.
Overall Review: This keyboard populates two (2) USB ports, Corsair thoughtfully extended a port to behind the F10/11 keys. Handily, I used for my Corsair VOID PRO Surround USB Adapter; keyboard volume & on/off controls are adjacent top right. Hint: Use USB 3 port for the keyboard to achieve maximum speed & improve Corsair’s s Utility Engine (CUE) keyboard detection. Rather than suppling game oriented key covers, entire key switch top needs to be substituted; for that purpose, a key top removal tool is included; replacements are easily snapped in place. Testing environment: Windows 10 Professional (x64) Version 1809 (build 17763.346); Board: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. AX370-Gaming 3-CF; AMD Ryzen 7 1700 Eight-Core CPU; Radeon RX 560 Series [Display adapter]. Envisioned other uses: This keyboard makes a memorable point of sale statement, i.e., Resort front desks; creating an indelible impression generating repeat sales. Therapeutic use: Dyslexia, they say there is no known way to correct the underlying brain abnormality (trouble reading/writing accurately). From my prospective, mesmerizing color shifting left to right light wave enhances hand/eye/brain complex interconnections; look at writing (aided w/ word processing technology) as silent talking. To infinity and beyond, this keyboard, is way more than a gaming device; it has tremendous cross market appeal beyond tap, tap, tap tournament play. Want/need to buy a gift that will absolutely be appreciated, look no further, better yet, gift one to yourself!
Pros: This board is absolutely amazing, love the low profile!
Cons: None it's perfect!
Overall Review: I highly recommend this board!
Pros: Amazing keyboard for gaming and general use (I'm not a typing expert) but I made a lot of typos when I was getting used to it. Doesn't need much force to actuate, so it feels really fast to type in. The Corsair ecosystem is great and so is customer support.
Cons: My unit has 11 defective LEDs after 2 years, mine is one of the early units as I bought it at release, so it might be an early defect, who knows. - The LEDs in question have burned out blue LEDs - The A key LED was the first one to have the issue 2 months after I got it and the remaining I actually didn't notice until I switched the keyboard profile to white.
Overall Review: I would recommend and buy it again if a wireless version comes out and I have the money for it xP For me, the RGB issue is not a big deal but I just wanna report this issue, so that you know it might happen. Also, Corsair support tried to help me through this problem and I gotta say they make a really good job in that department. Had I issued an RMA when I could, I'm sure they would have taken care of it ASAP.
Pros: -Stable keys, switches -Full RGB -Easy software -Metal casing, very sturdy -Media keys and a volume scroller
Cons: -The rubber feet to angle the keyboard aren't as grippy as I'd like but the keyboard is heavy enough to not slide during use -This keyboard has two USB inputs, one for the keyboard itself and one for the USB passthrough on the back of the keyboard. I don't use the passthrough so it's just dangling behind my computer because it's not removable
Overall Review: With this being the low profile version of the Mk. II, I was worried about how the keyboard would feel but it doesn't feel much different from my previous Corsair K63. The keys are the same shape, just slimmer and lower. Overall this keyboard is gonna come down to feel. If you don't mind the low profile and faster key actuations then I recommend it. Everything else is great.
Pros: the product was just i thought
Overall Review: yeah
Pros: very fast and silent,, great for gaming and typing also is a real pleasure,, it's my first mechanical KB ever ,and I wanted it for pure intense gaming as it exclusively presenting cherry MX low profile Speed switches with only 1mm actuation point,, and it's not sensitive at all as I thought ,, the force required to activate the keys is very suitable , very elegant design and quality materials comfortable wrist rest light weight RGB lights on or off without the need to the software (but you can only change between 3 presets and 3 brightness levels plus OFF,,other lighting features need the software)
Cons: when typing you may push some keys by mistake if you type fast ,but it's improving with prolonged use you may double type a letter sometimes because of the very low actuation point,, specially if you're not used low gaming switches like in my case,,but this is also improving with use
Overall Review: great feel when you recognize the actuation point and activate it without bottoming out the switches the KB generally is AMAZING ,, AND THE BEST FOR INTENSE GAMING ,,where every millisecond counts
Pros: I've ran Corsair mech keyboards since they first came out. My current keyboard is the special edition in white K70 Mk.2 with Silver MX. This RapidFire keyboard is notably more low profile by little more than 25%. The low profile MX switches have a shorter travel. The keypresses feel a bit more gummy like a nice membrane keyboard and it does feel good. I like this board very much and would recommend it to anyone looking for a slimmer unit that requires less arching at your wrists. The supplied wrist rest is comfortable and adequate. The feel of the keys is almost rubbery even though it's the standard ABS plastic construction for the keys.
Cons: These MX switches have a shorter travel but the additional force required due to a stiffer(shorter but fatter) spring sort of negates the shortened travel. As a result the keys feel less wobbly which can be a good thing. I would say the force on this is closer to an MX Clear switch.
