Question 1

Does it have a mute button?

Accepted Answer

I do not use the microphone part of it. I know you can answer and end calls with it but I have not found a way to mute it. I tried to get the microphone to work with windows but it does not seem to pick it up very well, even when I have the headset off and speak right into the microphone. So I don’t know if the microphone is all the great. I do like the sound the headset, though. I hope this helps you out.

Question 2

does this product have a microphone?

Accepted Answer

Yes it does. It has, as CL calls it "high-quality dual microphone array". Works really good for everything I've used it for so far (playing with voice commands, skype, etc.).

Question 3

Is there a beefier 4-pole analog cable option? Something the same gauge as the USB/micro USB

Accepted Answer

You can definitely use any 3.5 mm plug cable you would like. I am sure they are available. Try Monster Cable. They wont let me post the link her so just go to monsterproducts dot com and type 3.5 mm headphone cable and it will pull up.

That should work rather nicely. At least there is a plug on this device so if you break the cable like on my other expensive set they are not worthless. Big plus in my book. Sound is nice, not a Sennheiser but a lot cheaper that is for sure.

Question 4

When connecting this via usb (with the software installed), can you select virtual 7.1 surround or is it stereo only (windows playback devices)?

Accepted Answer

No with usb one it doesn't let you select virtual 7.1 surround sound even though description says it should.
