Solid choice 12/16/2011 10:28:14 PM

Pros: This case is all black, with lots of convenient features for cable management. Has lots of room to work with so you can manage all your parts easily. The design allows for good airflow. Also if you want to drop the cash, you can add more fans easily (I've found that what came with it is more than enough)

Cons: It's big? I don't think of that as a con, but others might. I personally like a big sturdy case protecting all my precious hardware.

Overall Review: One reason I chose this case over others is because it only has one LED that can have its style changed, or even turned off. I can't stand all the computer geeks who feel like they have to light up their case like a Christmas tree. You can put a skirt and spoiler on a bad car, it'll still be bad car. Same with LEDs and computers, they are superfluous aesthetics. I wish more case manufacturers would allow for them to be turned off.

Forget about getting the rebate 10/24/2011 5:13:12 PM

Pros: The case itself is great and I have no complaints. Plenty of room to work with. My rebate was approved by Enermax on Aug 12th ( so they say ) I have emailed them twice now and have gotten no response as to where my rebate check is. So if your buying it because you think your going to get a $40 rebate back think again! I doubt I would have bought it without the rebate.

Cons: See above no rebate received

Overall Review: I wont ever buy an enermax product again

Review title 9/21/2011 11:53:02 PM

Pros: Solid design. Even the plastic parts feel sturdy.
Lots of extra features and little niceties (black screws, velcro ties, variable speed front fan, washable fan filters).
Good cable management.
Good cooling, for the most part.
Easy to work in, especially with removable top.
Plenty of room for most video cards and aftermarket CPU/memory coolers.
SSD and 3.5" HDDs pull out from the side ... much more convenient than the front and no tools required.
The top SSD/HDD hot swap dock is very nice. You will only need to use it once to appreciate it being there.
The ability to turn off the front fan LEDs is nice, especially at night.
It looks good under my desk.

Cons: Flimsy internal drive bay door/cover thing. The materials are fine, but the hinges are just tabbed pieces of metal that fit into slots. They are easy to get out of the slots, but surprisingly difficult to get back in.

3.5" drive bay is almost completely enclosed. I am not sure how much air passes through from the single front fan which, considering the 5 bazillion other places to put fans, looks a little lonesome and maybe not quite adequate.

Overall Review: If the drive door really bothers you, you can leave it off. It looks to be only window dressing anyway.

I discovered that a 80mm fan can be securely placed inside the 3.5" drive bay using the same bumpers that hold the drives. If you don't go kicking the case around, the fans will stay put. I put two in mine, one blowing directly on each of my RAID-0 drives.

I also discovered that the MB facing side of the 3.5" drive bay is almost exactly the size of a 120mm fan. I used very thin, black weather stripping to seal one in place hoping to pull air through. I haven't measured the effectiveness of this.

The cable management makes for a clean install and the rubber grommets are a nice touch. Just make sure not to pop one out, because they are a pain to get back in with wires running through them.

I recommend a 200mm fan in the side mesh opening. They move a lot of air and are quiet! Very good case design there.

I urge anyone needing a mid tower to look at this one.

Pros: Decent price if you catch a rebate & free shipping. E-Sata front port & SATA dock are cool features. Room for a 2.5" Drive. Screws are labelled well! Cut out for easy installation of large aftermarket cpu coolers that require a backplate.

Cons: Hard drive cage does not allow for easy insertion of hard drives. Trying to install 3 Velociraptors was impossible as the cages are a little too small, and they warped. The metal is very thin guage.

Overall Review: Get an Antec.

Pros: Solid. all black, cool led light, 3 hot swap bays, dust filter for front fan and power supply fan

Cons: Space is not "plenty" for backside cable routing, if your psu has a huge 24pin calbe, you have to push it hard to fit. Hard drive bay cannot be taken out, I turned the front fan speed to maximum but still feel no air flow behind the bay. This is terrable! pci pieces are "one-time use" only

Overall Review: pci pieces are "one-time use" only.

Disappointed 8/1/2011 12:22:37 PM

Pros: Very solid construction, swing-out front fan for hard drive cage is nice, top slot for inserting bare 3.5 or 2.5 SATA drive is a VERY NICE feature. The 2 bottom hot-swap front-accessible bays are nice - but haven't used them yet so not sure yet that they will work. Some appealing feature, but the cons outweigh them.

Cons: Was disappointed on the case sides - the left side does NOT come off or go back on easily. Both sides are somewhat hard to close. The top slot for the SATA drive wouldn't release the 3.5 WD SATA drive I inserted into it because of a protruding screw on the drive that caught on the doors the fold in. I ended up chipping the plastic on the door getting the drive out -- poorly designed, the doors should open out, not in. There is no external 3.5 bay to mount something in - the 5.25 panels aren't designed for that either so you would have open space if the 3.5 device didn't have a 5.25 faceplate. Had a nice USB 3.0 insert that is 3.5 that I can't use now. The eSATA front port was slightly bent on the corner and the plastic guide was chipped - most likely from manufacture. Probably won't affect use, but a sign of poor quality control. Don't like the punch out slot covers - I had already mounted the motherboard and had to be really careful not to scratch the MB when removing.

Overall Review: All-in-all, I bought this due to discount and rebate and generally am disappointed with it. I have built countless PCs over 30 years. Cases generally have improved over time, but this one actually goes backwards. Here are some more cons: the 5.25 easy mount mechanism slips. (I had to remove a CD from the CD drive using a paperclip, and pushing with the paperclip pushed the drive into the case!) The instruction sheet was pretty worthless - my experience allowed the build to proceed but a newbie or enthusiast with little experience would be very frustrated with this case.
ENERMAX: A replacement would not make this better - a rebate to cover cost of this case on another case would work. I would not buy this case again.

Good Case 7/31/2011 9:17:06 AM

Pros: Lots of access points, lots of places to route cable. Few tols required.

My optical drives are mismatched, this case still looks sharp because they can be hidden behind the bay covers.

Cons: Fan light has red and blue led, little button for speed and modes, however most of the modes are distracting, flash slowly. Sure it's nit picky, bur that's my only beef.

Overall Review: There is a SATA for the top and the front expansion bays I did't get much use of. My MB layout ran out of space. (Vid card overlaps SATA ports).

I bought this as a replacement to an old Antec case. Couldn't be much happier.

Same as Xion Predator 7/11/2011 9:57:48 PM

Pros: This case is built off of the exact same chasis as the Xion Predator 970 but is $25 more expensive.

Cons: N/A

Overall Review: I bought the Predator 970 over this case cuz of the looks and of course the price point. Both cases are great for airflow and cable management and are very well designed and well built.
