Pros: I purchased this when it was $399. In that price range, it is an outstanding value that isn't likely to be beat. Most other laptops for $399 have slightly to moderately inferior processors like an Intel Celeron 900 or an AMD P340/P540. And most other laptops for $399 don't have 4 GB RAM -- likely 2-3 GB. This laptop is now $479, still a "good" value, but at that price I might consider spending a little more for an i3 laptop. This laptop is best suited for browsing, chat, office, iTunes, etc. It does those kind of things well.
Cons: The sound (Conexant) isn't that great, but that's about it so far. The laptop this replaced for me was filled with 2002-2003 era technology, had no built in wireless, and weighed 9 pounds. Anything was likely going to be better than that at this point. This certainly is.
