Can I plug it into 120v outlet and play streaming music from my iPhone without them being connected to the computer?

No. This does not have AirPlay or Bluetooth.

Cna I conect the speakers to an old school CD player (the single CD player- remember)? What is the size of the speakers?

System connects to any source(music/CD player, notso-smartphone, flip phone, game console, ...etc.) that can be connected to subwoofer with RCA or 3.5m connector or to right spkr with 3.5mm connector. Subwoofer is ~4"; satellite is ~ 2". Sub enclosure is ~ 8+3/4" x 6" x 7" and each satellite enclosure is ~8" x 3.5" x 5". Total weight for system is ~ 6.5 lbs.

Does this include all of the cords necessary to hook it up to a desktop pc?

Yes, power cord and the 3.5mm cord for connecting to the port for audio.

Since it has an aux input, will it play audio from both sources at the same time?

It might? Really down to the details in how the inputs are wired. I gave this as a gift so I can't test it.
