years with these cameras. 6/25/2020 9:28:33 PM

Pros: -great video
-great night vision
-long lasting (if the heat doesn't kill the battery)
-many features
-amazing customer support

Cons: -battery doesn't last more than a year in florida heat
-no GPS
-you have to stop recording to snap a picture

Overall Review: i used to deliver pizza. after about a year my camera wasn't able to hold a charge. i contacted the company and they delivered me a new one, trusting me to send the other back. somehow it never made it to them. fast forward another year. i asked about what battery it used so i can fix mine myself. they told me to send it to them and they'd send me a new one. this time i had to send mine first since it didn't get to them last time. they held their end i still have the camera. the battery died again and i just bought a new pouch battery to replaced it. (battery died again) i am modifying it to let me locate the battery to a cooler part of the car. i don't want to bug them again. i can't blame them for the battery it is more of the nature of the state. they used a good battery that doesn't swell when it dies. the one i used myself did. the battery uses a thermister.

through my deliveries i saved over 500 videos of close calls and dumb drivers. it self locks videos well, it saves the videos well and i have been happy with it for the several years i owned mine. the battery would have lasted longer if i was in a cooler state, parked in shade or just took it down when not in use. eh, but i am lazy.

only things that i don't like is that GPS would be nice for keeping track of speed, and i think they should have made it where you can push a button to take a snapshot rather than push a button to stop recording, push a button to switch to snapshot mode, then button for the picture then a button a few more times to get back to recording mode. i got mine at a ninty-nine and am happy about it. i am thinking of getting it at the sales i am currently seeing, though i do not need another. i just wanted to let everyone know how nice these little cameras are.

Seems fine 5/24/2016 8:12:09 AM

Pros: Everything that I'd want to be automatic (like turning off and on) is automatic

Cons: I needed to turn off the collision detection/motion sensor because even on low sensitivity it would think everything was an accident. Haven't needed to use it yet but it does have a button for "SOMETHING JUST HAPPENED DONT WRITE OVER THE PAST TEN MINUTES" which is really all you need

Overall Review: Couldn't run off of a 1 amp USB car converter, did work with 2.1 amps.

EDIT: LCD no longer works 3/9/2016 1:29:47 PM

Pros: SEE CONS

Cons: Battery doesnt hold a charge for as long as say a cellphone or nintendo or something but this is meant to be in a car with its adapter so its not worth knocking an egg of about.

New Edit: This device appears to be crapping out on me. I didnt do the math or nothing but it seems that it takes 4 out of 5 resets to have the screen functioning. The device will power on but the screen literally stay white. I have no idea if its recording or not because i cant see anything on the display.
This is very inconvenient if you trust the device to record what you see in front of you because youll have to power it down 4 or 5 times before the screen will start functioning.

Changed from 5 eggs to 3 simply because it still functions, but not as advertised.

The lcd screen has officially stopped working. After a dozen power cycles the screen remains white.

Heres what this means:
I am STUCK at the current settings I have because I cannot navigate to the menus and see what I am selecting. I am effectively locked out of the menu. I have to manually connect the device to a computer to clear the storage.
A no screen lcd with no settings access is not worth $100. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE PURCHASE THIS DEVICE IF THEY EXPECT IT TO WORK MORE THAN A COUPLE MONTHS.

Compact yet loaded with features 10/31/2015 8:56:13 PM

Pros: My first impression of the camera was how tiny it actually was, which isn't obvious from the pics online. It's also very lightweight, making it less likely to fall off when mounted to the windshield (just make sure the locking clip is engaged). Along with its small form factor, it has a minimalist design with only 3 physical buttons to keep operation simple (especially while driving). I purchased 4 of these for myself and my family in SF, LA, and NY where it'll come in handy in these in these traffic-congested areas.

Cons: Despite its minimalist design, the camera actually features a high degree of customization in terms of recording. However, many of the options seem really similar, and the manual doesn't explain very clearly how each option differs from one another. The power button also seems to not work as expected sometimes, as the camera can suddenly turn on with the slightest bump when even after being turned off.

Extremely clear video and sound 10/26/2015 7:53:47 PM

Pros: This camera records very clear video and sound with a very wide viewing angle. I used its lock function a few times and was able to download interesting moments while continuing to record the entire trip. Now when I am late it is easy to prove just how bad the traffic really was!

Cons: looks like an expensive camera

Overall Review: I've enjoyed the peace of mind of documenting any craziness that happens on the road and the ability to save clips of interesting moments.

Great Cam for event data recorder 10/21/2015 5:41:30 PM

Pros: This is the best cam (EDR) I had ever used. The size is small. Very easy to set up and auto do the record of everything after charging. The quality of videos are awesome no matter day and night. I love the function of G-sensor & Auto File Lock Backup. I tried to knock the cam lightly and it auto recorded the video immediately and backup the file. This will be very helpful when accidents happen because it will auto record everything for you. I highly recommend this cam to every driver.

Cons: non

Hawk Eye dashboard cam 10/20/2015 1:57:54 PM

Pros: The cam is small size, so it doesn't obstruct of the view on the windshield. The power cable is long enough to go around the contour of the dashboard and be easily hidden. The cam itself is easy to install with intuitive menu navigation. It provides clear video feed in daylight and in night vision.

Cons: none so far.

Overall Review: The manual could provide more info. For example, it would be nice to clearly state in the manual that the video recording is continuous and in case of a hit, the video feed is locked, or the video feed could be manually locked to prevent from being overwritten by the continuous recording. I spent some time to figure and to understand the relationship between the use of the "lock" and "Hit & Record" functions .
