Pros: As I previously have stated this is a great case and I would still recommend.
Cons: The 140 mm rear case fan is trash. I have 5 of these cases and 1 fan has seized and after inspection the other 4 are about to. The other fans seem to be doing fine. I ended up replacing with Item #N82E16835242033 which seems to move great air, is quieter, and seems like it will last longer.
Overall Review: Even with the fan issue I would still order this case and just replace the fan up front.
Follow Up on my PAST REVIEW...6/5/2011 12:00:35 AM
Pros: This is a follow up on my PAST REVIEW that has the title: "Great Case - Few Drawbacks..."
In the past review I said I couldn't get the Front Speaker (Head Phones) to work.
I found the problem...
When I switched the connector on the MB from the AC-97 Connector to the HD Audio Connector & Re-Booted and then tried the Head Phone Connector (on the front panel) it worked & sounded GREAT!!!
Cons: Four MINOR things to watch out for.
A. The case is STILL WIDE!!!
B. The lights on the case DON'T remember the settings you choose when you turn it off. It has 6 settings.
1. CONSTANT Blue light.
2. CONSTANT Green light.
3. CONSTANT Red light.
4. FLASHING ALL 3 lights.
5. CYCLING & FLASHING ALL 3 light colors.
6. ALL lights OFF (MY PREFERENCE - which I CANNOT SET.)
(C.) The holder for the SSD Drive is a PITA to install - it uses thumbscrews to install but it also has a GUIDE SLOT IT MUST FIT INTO in order to set the screws.
(D.) The fans (there are 4) are QUIET - which I LOVE, but they DON'T seem to be capable of running at FULL SPEED despite the variable speed control (nice feature) on the top of the case.
Overall Review: This is the 1st case I've owned with the PSU at the bottom and I REALLY can't see a hindrance of any kind. Just be sure your cables are long enough & you should be fine.
ALL TOGETHER THIS IS A NICE CASE & I WOULD NOT HESITATE RECOMMENDING IT TO ANYONE!
Pros: This box is by far the best I've owned. I owned a Thermaltake Matrix case before, bought from Newegg, but this case is superior by far due to the amount of fans, the control options, the tidiness of the case wires, and design all contribute to the overall rating.
If you cycle through the fan lighting options, you'll eventually hit a setting that makes your box flash red, blue, and green lighting. All you really need is a strobe light and fog machine to have a mini rave in your room. A nice feature that can fortunately be turned off, if too distracting.
Cons: As someone mentioned before, the power and reset switch can be somewhat inconvenient if you need to tug out your headphones from the front audio. My finger actually slipped and hit the reset switch since the jack was a little tight for the plug.
Although I love the fans that pump air in and out of the case, I don't like that you can't remove them without damaging the wiring system. I wanted to remove the top case fan since it was in the way of a CPU fan I was going to use, but I found out I couldn't disconnect the wire that fed toward the front control panel. Depending on your motherboard, the CPU fan can be VERY VERY close to the top case fan. My V8 fit, fortunately, but there's about a millimeter of separation between the two.
I'm also noticing a slight resonance in the case fans if cranked to the max setting. It's a very low hum that might not be detectable to the average person in a silent room, but I can hear it.
Overall Review: I knocked off one egg due to the irremovable fans and the easy-to-hit reset button. With the fan setting cranked the top fan is able to keep a single sheet of paper slightly afloat. I'm not sure if that's decent for case fans or not, but I thought at the lowest setting it should be able to do that. Might be a petty reason to knock off an egg, but it isn't perfect in my eyes.
Pros: *Great Airflow
*Clever side panel fan design.
*Ability to turn off LED lights
*Variable fan speed control - Quiet at all levels.
*Relatively easy install
*Excellent cable routing options
*7 Hard drive bays
*Rounded edges keep scratches and injuries away.
*Plenty of space for gigantic zalman CPU heatsink/fans.
Cons: *Slightly confusing HD install.
*Reset button too easy to hit. I unplugged mine.
*PCI slot covers are slightly difficult to remove after the motherboard is in place.
Overall Review: I've only had the case for a day, initial impressions are very high. I didn't run into any problems moving my rig to this case.
Pros: High quality materials.
Very roomy.
Nice cable management.
Colors are a nice option.
Slightly boxy shape but very appealing. This a is personal preferce though.
Cons: Slightly oversized for a mid towers. Not really a con though since this helps with air flow and cable routing.
Some tools required for Hard disks. It uses special shouldered screws that latch in place when installed. Hard disk can then be removed very easilly after these screws are attached.
Overall Review: I have been building computers for 20 years. This is one of the finest cases I have purchased. Everything is quality. Does not have the cheap feel like many of the cases. Great air flow and even some filters.
I rate this as high as the Azza Solano, the highest rated case I have ever purchased.
I abosultely give this case 5 stars.
Pros: I like the design of this case, it made my gaming build easy and simple. Great cable management and being able to turn the removable hard drive bay was a plus for hiding the wires (for a less crowded, cleaner looking compartment which equals better air flow). I like the total black package everything inside and outside of the case and all hardware. The fans make for a lot of wind movement in the case. The quiet, adjustable, color changing led fans are a cool bonus and the ability to turn them off is a nice feature as well.
Cons: Out of the box, the fan on the side of the case did not work at all. I am going to have disassemble my new rig to send the whole case back to Newegg for replacement. The expansion slot covers are the cheap break off kind. The directions are not very detailed and leave out some of the steps that a novice builder might need to know (such as installing the brass standoffs for the motherboard, how to connect the power for the fans, etc.).
Overall Review: Newegg is the best, this is the first time I have had any problems with anything that I have bought from them. I hope the RMA process is simple and fast so I can reassemble and use my new rig as soon as possible.

A solid, well designed case, but with caveats12/5/2010 10:43:53 AM
Pros: This is a really well-made case with lots of ventilation, substantial construction, and all properly rolled edges inside. You won't be making any blood sacrifices to assemble a machine in this case. The interior is spacious and easy to work in, with abundant room for fixed and removable-media drives. Cooling airflow is superb, and the large, slow-turning fans move plenty of air without much noise even on high speed; at low to medium speed, they're completely inaudible.
The LED-illuminated fans can be set to any of three solid colors (red, blue, green), a fast or slow cycling pattern, or off, by pushing the fan speed control.
Some other reviewers have commented that they couldn't figure out how to make the case fans work. Hello? All four case fans feed into a single Molex 4-pin power connector in plain sight on the back side of the motherboard mounting panel. Connect it to your power supply. This is NOT rocket science.
Cons: Break-out expansion slot covers are a slight disappointment. If you have to move cards around, you'll be looking for spare slot covers.
Also be aware that the hard disk cage is designed for snap-in installation of 3.5" hard disks using rubber-isolated bushings that, naturally enough, have standard hard-disk screw threads. This means that if you're installing 2.5" devices (laptop drives or SSDs), any 2.5"-3.5" drive adapter that uses fine-thread CD/DVD/FDD screws — which is MOST OF them — WILL NOT FIT. Be very careful about what disk adapter you buy.
Overall Review: Recipe for a blindingly fast, dead silent, energy-efficient machine in this case:
- Asus M4N98TD Evo motherboard, N82E16813131636
- AMD PhenomII X6 Black Edition 3.2GHz, Thuban core, N82E16819103849
- Corsair CWCH50-1 CPU water cooler, N82E16835181010
- Thermaltake TPG-650M Toughpower Gold high-efficiency power supply, N82E16817153131
- Two or four G-Skill DDR3-1600 CAS8 4GB memory modules (the machine will come up at 1333 on the first boot; reset to 1600 in the BIOS and reboot, and you're good to go)
- Two Mushkin Enhanced Callisto SSDs, mirrored, in your capacity of choice. You won't believe how fast they are. The only thing faster is a PCI-Express SSD.
Finish up with your choice of video card and a good optical drive, and you're all set. Now get out there and melt faces, warlock!
More thoughts, half a year later11/7/2010 10:32:40 AM
Pros: Been living with the case for awhile, had some thoughts on it.
First and foremost, I'd like to clarify things that people are complaining about. There's a 4-pin molex in the back that needs to be plugged in for the three LED fans. There's also a 3 pin fan header for the black 140mm rear fan. I think some of the "fans don't work" reviewers didn't plug them both in.
Secondly, the hard drive rack can be re-oriented in several directions (either parallel to the 5.25" bays, or perpendicular). I like perpendicular with the connectors facing the right side panel because it makes the wiring very clean.
The case is a decent size, and is good for a quiet air-cooled rig.
The fans are quiet, but don't move much air. The big 200mm fans only move as much as a normal medium speed 120mm fan, about 50cfm. However, they do it very quietly. Don't expect it to be a wind tunnel. It has about average cooling for a case, but is very quiet.
Cons: There are some issues with this case that have become very annoying over time.
For one, the LED fan color always resets to blue when the PC is turned off. If you set it to sleep mode to save power, it's a PITA if you want it a color other than blue.
The red trim on the side panels is garish and out-of-place.
Fan control only adjusts from 800rpm to 1000rpm. Not much of a difference.
Fan control doesn't have extra ports for additional fans, so if you want to use a fan controller on your CPU heatsink or the rear 140mm, you can't.
Blue power LED is far too bright. Projects a big blue spot onto my ceiling.
IMO, they should have ditched the fan speed control entirely, and just had a knob to select color that always stayed on the correct color. Maybe even a RGB LED for power and hdd activity, so it matches.
Case ends up looking cheesy with multicolor fans, blue power LED, and red trim. I like having colored lighting, but I'd like if it was all the same co
Overall Review: The 140mm fan doesn't seem very good. The bearings have a lot of resistance (it's the most difficult fan to spin by hand). Somewhat unimpressed with it.
Punch-out PCI slot covers are just unacceptable on cases over $50, IMO. I've moved around different expansion cards, so I don't have any left, and now my backpanel is jumble of mismatched PCI slot covers taken from other cases.
