I bought 3 and 2 failed within 2 years - safe your money 4/29/2019 5:41:20 PM

Pros: - Sturdy feel
- Spartan but all the keys you need
- Used to be my favorite keyboard.

Cons: - I OWN 3 - 2 FAILED WITHIN 2 YEARS.
- Shoddy quality control and manufacturing.

Overall Review: So first off, let me say I am a huge fan of these keyboards. They feel sturdy, have all the keys I need, none of the ones I don't, they have a convenient key to disable the windows key, which is perfect for gaming, and the LED lumination is adjustable which is just right for playing late at night.

That said, don't ever buy one of these. Here's why:

I was such a fan of these keyboards that when I purchased the first one (I own one BlueSwitch and two BrownSwitch ones), a BlueSwitch, and it went bad (after 2 years), where suddenly the SPACE and O key intermittendly didn't work, or inserted mutliples while typing, I assumed this was just a fluke. In fact, I reached out to their customer service at the time in March 2017 and they were willing to RMA the keyboard (5 year warranty), however, the process was involved, and not customer friendly, so I just ordered a new keyboard (the same one but a Brownswitch as I assumed maybe that was the problem). And as you might guessed, loved them so much, that later I bought one more for my work computer.

I also work in games, so I've always highly recommended these keyboards to fellow gamedevs, team mates, and general gamers - I probably have sold more of these than I care to admit. That's how good I thought they were.

So yesterday, my Brownswitch has the same issue (after 2 years), but this time the T key fails, and either doesn't type, or stutters a few more than you typed. Note I am now typing this on my trusted old DELL keyboard because you can imagine a keyboard that doesn't type T's is kind of useless. I called ThermalTake, and they were nice enough to RMA this keyboard, however, when I spoke to the guy on the phone and I mentioned to him how much I liked these keyboards, and what a bummer it was that I had two fail he mentioned I should have RMA'd the last one. I didn't think much of it, but considering this was the 2nd keyboard that failed within 2 years, and I was already RMA'ing the first one, I figured I would ask if I could get the first one replaced. As it turns out the warranty on the intial keyboard is 2 months expired, and they refuse to replace it, even though I have an email exchange with ThermalTake proving that the initial keyboard was defective, but I never submitted it for RMA.

Now, technically they are absolutely right. Keyboard is two months past warranty - no need to replace. That said, I think it's poor customer service, especially since I've been a loyal customer, and I have emails proving that I contacted them about the keyboard not functioning well within the warranty period.

TL:DR So two things. First, 2 out of 3 keyboards failed within the 2 year window. I can point to keyboards I have from 10 years that still work. That's pretty lousy workmanship/manufacturing. Secondly, they could have made this up in excellent customer service, but they didn't.

I will never buy this brand or any other related Thermaltake product ever again. Most importantly, won't recommend it, or work on it at work. There's plenty of choices out there, and no need to put up with basically poor products supported by poor customer service.

OWNER FOR NEARLY 5 YEARS AND... 2/7/2019 12:30:02 AM

Pros: It is solidly constructed on the outside and has a good weight to it. Could be used as a paper weight once the keyboard starts malfunctioning.

Cons: UPDATE:

This keyboard is horrible. I had it replaced because it started mistyping and now the replacement is also mistyping as well. If you check online this is a widespread issue with this keyboard and the company is still getting away with selling this defective item. STAY AWAY FROM THIS KEYBOARD.

Overall Review: I hope online retailers realize their customers are getting hurt by allowing defective items to be sold like this. Newegg, please don't allow this keyboard to be sold here any longer. Don't take my word for it, do you own research.

Nice Keyboard 11/28/2018 3:42:50 PM

Pros: Nice keyboard. Took a few days to get used to because it was my first mechanical keyboard but after a short adjustment I was impressed with the feel of the keys.

Update: Still impressed with the feel of the keys. See the update in the cons for the low rating.

Cons: Backlight on the keyboard only really illuminates the top half of the keys. At night I can see the '9' very clearly and possibly too brightly, but the '(' underneath is dim. Since I am almost a touch typist not a con worth taking an egg off.

After ~1 week of use, the 'c' key started double registering when pressed. I'm not sure if it's something I did, but it's a reasonably clean environment and I haven't done anything exotic to it. -1 egg unless I find out it's my fault somehow.

Update: The double registering has progressed steadily and now affects about half the keyboard. Not terribly impressed.

Overall Review: Good keyboard, I like it.

Works as expected 6/14/2018 7:57:42 AM

Pros: I've owned this keyboard for 4 years now, it still works fine.
Lights are bright but not overly
Keys feel solid
Windows key off/on button

Cons: for about a week one of my keys would double tap occasionally, however that seemed to fix itself quickly, hasnt happened since and that was over a year ago

Overall Review: For the price when i bought it ($59.99) it was absolutely worth it. Not sure I'd spend the $90+ now thought

Great while it lasted 2/16/2018 12:38:01 PM

Pros: -It looks great
-Very satisfying clicking on the mechanical switches (while they worked)
-Brown switches are not too noisy
-Spacebar has rounded edge and feels great for typing
-Illumination looks nice and has varying levels of brightness

Cons: -At around the 1 year mark a few letters started registering 2 key presses, then a month later about half the buttons register 2 key presses, which is great if you have to type Mississippi a lot but for everyone else its really annoying to type a full page and realize half the words are misspelled do to too many letters. I looked at alot of keyboards when I bought this any many of the reviews said these mechanical switches were just as good as Cherry MX switches, obviously not. At least there is a 5 year warranty.

worked great for the year i had it. 9/28/2017 12:13:45 AM

Pros: not the best mech ive owned. was a great buy but not worth how long it lasted.

Cons: spacebar and certain keys, (n and m more often than not) will double "press" (or register two keystrokes when only one is performed) resulting in a typing experience much like this one: This keybboard would be good if all the keys onn this keyboard worked how they should.

Overall Review: my unit isnt defective, others users have this problem. there are better keyboards out there for this price.

Double-ccliccks keys 6/11/2017 9:48:41 AM

Pros: - Worked great for 6 whole months!
- N-key rollover.
- Disable Windows key.
- Adjustable lighting levels.
- Relatively quiet keys for a mechanical keyboard.

Cons: - Started double clicking the 'c' key after about 8 months. - I think the company name was supposed to be just "T eSPORTS", but they wrote their company name using a Poseidon, so it became "Tt eSPORTS".
- Some keys get squeaky.
- The finish on the keys wears off gradually, making the keyboard look dirty.
- Not great for typing (I prefer my old non-mechanical keyboard).
- Very bright back-lit company logo (I covered with black tape).

Overall Review: - I thought the switches were Cherry MX Brown, but I now realize they are knock-offs.
- Switches require a fair amount of force to press, and have some hysteresis.
- Do not buy this keyboard--it is a low-quality pretender.
