Overall Review: I wanted this to use for my fleet of drones and my DJI Mavic drone. Finally after having some free time I open up my package I received from Newegg. It was packed quite nicely and shipped really quickly so I thank Newegg for that. Unfortunately this drive was dead out of the box. Tried to pair it with wifi then about 20 seconds later all the blue lights start flashing rapidly. So then I thought well maybe I'll just charge it up all the way. Try it again and same thing. I try connecting it with usb 2.0 and thought maybe it needs usb 3.0. So then I pop it into my main computer instead of my laptop. Drive is not detected. I tried to download all of the Western Digital software and updated my windows 10 drivers and no drive is detected wont even pop up on device manager. Tried on my laptop and my main gaming computer. No drive detected. So now I am thinking that I just got a lemon. When I put it into wifi pair mode by holding the button for 2 or 3 seconds I get the single blinking light on wifi LED. Then I checked on my iPhone, PC, and laptop, and I get no wifi broadcast on any of the devices. After doing a hard reset on the WD drive I tried again. Same thing. After the Wifi light turns off then all LED lights flash really fast. I look up with PDF manual online and that is apparently an indication that the drive is dead. I have a vacation I have to leave on in 3 weeks. I was planning on using this as a mobile storage solution for my fleet of cameras and my Mavic drone. Hopefully I can get a working unit in time. Today is thanksgiving day too. Only free day I had to prepare for my trip. So this really puts stress on my plans. I am not sure if I should go through Newegg or Western Digital. I will figure this out tomorrow since everything is closed today. Wish me luck.
Pros: Packed with lots of various, cool little features. But missing some, see cons.
Cons: 1) Installer program for Windows on the drive itself comes infected with a Bitcoin Mining Virus! Was caught by every computer I plugged it into directly. 2) Unlike the non Pro model, you DON'T get your own "cloud" with this. Unless you consider carrying it around a "personal cloud". Get the non-Pro version and you can access your files from anywhere. Or you can open up your ftp port ... but don't expect to be able to set the login credentials, it's open to the world.
Overall Review: What a waste of money
Pros: Downloaded several movies for a trip and the kids each watch there own movies at the same time. has a great range also.
Cons: i have no cons other than the size. But it is small enough to put in glove box and still able to use wirelessly
Overall Review: awesome product for what we need it for. definitely would recommend for on the go Hdd with wireless capabilities.
