WD Black WD10000LSRTL 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Hard Drive

Pros: WD has done it again. Once I installed the hard drive, which was a breeze being a SATA, it was just so easy to transfer my data with the software WD included with the drive. The drive is so quiet you don't know it is running. Buy the retail drive as it is packaged to keep anything from happening to the drive while it is in transit to your home. Newegg is the place I purchase my computer components from and always will. You won't be disappointed with this hard drive.

Pros: I have been a WD fan for many, many years -- since back when a BIG drive was 40 MB! I won't use anything else. This particular drive is working fool! It has run 24/7 for nearly two years, processing video for DVD creation. It inputs 15-20 gigabytes per day, processes it for DVD authoring, deletes it, and gets defragged and optimized nearly every day. It has never had so much as a hiccup in all that time. I have used the same drive in builds for customers at least a dozen times, and every one of their machines runs without issue re: the hard drive. Highly recommended!

Overall Review: Built my whole system with parts ordered from Newegg. Everything arrived very quickly and everything works great. Antec 300, Intel I7 920, ASUS P6T SE, Sapphire Radeon HD 4890, Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit, Corsair XM53 6 GB DDR3 memory.

Pros: Easy install and formatting. Have no problems so far. I am using them in a Raid1 for My Documents.

Cons: None. Price is higher than Seagate, but they have already lasted longer.

Overall Review: Bought these to replace two 1T Seagates that I ran in a raid1. One of the Seagate drives started 'clicking' after a couple of days. Sent them both back to NewEgg for refund.

Pros: shipped really quick, decent price, high capacity, quick write/read speeds. No Fuss, no muss HDD, even more so with Windows 7. These things are almost plug and play anymore. Ready to go right out of the box.

Overall Review: Had some trouble with the install on Windows 7, seems if you have more than one HDD installed, and running, the Windows installer tends to place the boot sector on a different drive than where it installs the OS. Took some troubleshooting to figure this one out. If you only have one HDD atcive durring install you should have no issues. Not an issue with the HDDs, tried a few others to be sure. Pros: Very quiet drive. I hardly know it's operating. Very large amount of storage. I will always stick with Western Digital Drives. I read one review that described this drive as noisy. He should have RMA'd it, because mine is almost silent even when running at full speed. You don't have to be a computer genius to install this drive. Do Not Hesitate to buy this unit.

Overall Review: Always stick with Westyern Digital. Besides this drive has a 56 year warranty. Better than most other drives. Ihave installed WD Dries ibn my Wigfe's computer, her sister's computer, and several of my previous computers, and my current one, and have never had a problem with Western Dighital drives.

Pros: 1TB of storage, 7200rpm, dual processors, et cetera. The packaging is great too, unlike the bare drives this retail version will be able to better withstand UPS' shipping procedures. I ordered it, and it arrived next day in a rather beat-up and measly bubble-wrap envelope thing. The box itself was rather banged up as well. The saving grace was the two plastic holders inside the box that keep it centered, and not bouncing around wildly. After running badblocks on the drive it came back with 0 bad sectors, so all's well that ends well.

Cons: None, working great... Although it should be mentioned that these drives are useless for RAID due to the previously mentioned TDLR issue. If you're planning on building an array opt for the RE versions of these drives.

Overall Review: The retail packaging is a must. If you haven't yet heard of any UPS shipping HDD horror stories check out some of the reviews for bare drive listings.
