Pros: I've been running 2 in a raid zero config for a couple of months. So far so good.
Cons: A previous WD drive went bad within weeks.
Pros: The speed of this unit is great and does not take long for writing/reading and the 4TB size is awesome and is a defiantly an upgrade from my 2TB unit this replaced.
Cons: It is loud when writing/reading!!! i did read that others thought it was loud when i was researching and purchased this unit and when i finally heard it after some time it is infidelity noticeable when not wearing headphones or loud noises.
Overall Review: It is a great upgrade from smaller units when you need the space but it is loud so be aware of that when purchasing!
Pros: Fast Quiet Easy install and setup
Cons: None
Overall Review: Was worried about users reviews saying this drive was noisy. Got to tell you, I own a Black 1TB from about 5-7 years ago and that drive makes chatter noises. Still works and never let me down, but ya that one makes noise. This puppy is almost as quiet as an SSD. Seriously, I threw 1TB of backup games at it in one go from my cloud and it went extremely well and fast, kept a good range of 90 -130 Mb\s. Western Digital never let me down and I have been a fanboy of theirs since the 90's. I will never get a Seagate ...ever...
Pros: 30-40 MB faster transfer speed than my old Seagate Barricuda and WD Caviar drives. Quiet operation, only a few clicks heard when starting up after the initial install. Huge drive! I've been walking on eggshells when it comes to managing the free space on my PC. I have 6 drives now, I can start to consolidate my data and will keep the copied data backed up on the old drives in case this one fails.
Cons: None so far.
Overall Review: I'm not sure what others are talking about in regard to the clicking sound every 5 seconds. I am in the middle of a huge data transfer right now, and haven't heard a single sound from this drive. It formatted easily and quickly, and I am 90 MB\Sec sustained transfer.
Pros: Fast writing/reading speed while it lasted.
Cons: - Failed after a few months - Horrible clicking noise (could even feel the vibrations) - Everytime I was accessing a file from this HDD, it straight up froze my computer for 5-10sec
Pros: -Works so far -Its a harddrive
Cons: -Clicking/grinding noise (mostly when idle)
Overall Review: -Afraid it will suddenly crash -Why is it making a clicking/grinding noise?
Pros: I used this as a gaming disk to my diskless server of 33 clients connecting to it. Fast and reliable hdd.
Cons: None so far.
