Pros: I don't even have to try and it takes great pictures.
I am quite impressed with what this can do. 1080p video is an amazing bouns to the great pictures.
Cons: Canon's paper documentation is kinda weak, but if you do a little leg work you can find it online.
Newegg shipping.
Overall Review: Newegg packing was horrible. Looked like they threw a few peices of paper in the bottom and then chucked the camera on top, could hear it flopping around inside the box when it was deliverd. Thankfully it works, I can only imagine what it would have looked like shipped via UPS ground

Lives up to expectations5/22/2010 5:34:32 PM
Pros: Great image quality and great low light performance for an APS-C sized sensor. The 7D lives up to all of its expectations. The camera is incredibly well built, and has a reassuring, solid feel to it, with textured grip rubber in all the right places. The kit lens is also very nice, with a useful zoom range and crisp optics for a kit lens.
Really, this camera has everything a serious hobbyist or budding professional could want in a DSLR.
Cons: There really aren't many. Even the price is more than reasonable for the features you get. Most of the gripes you could level at the camera are going to be the matter of taste variety.
Overall Review: Make sure you get a high performance CF card to accompany the camera. The files are big, especially if you shoot in raw, and a slow CF card will severely limit the potential of the dual DIG!C 4's to move data. UDMA cards are pretty reasonable these days... an 8GB Sandisk Extreme will give you 1008 full rez JPEGs and is more than fast enough to keep up with the 8FPS bust shooting mode.

An outstanding camera1/17/2010 7:07:14 PM
Pros: This is an outstanding DSLR which delivers quality across the board. The pictures taken by this camera are simply stunning. The body is very well designed and engineered. The handling is easy. All the buttons are located where you would expect them to be. The learning curve is short.
Cons: Once or twice I noticed that the white balance was slightly off under very bright, sunny conditions. With a couple of quick tweaks the camera was set to my liking. The default settings are good to get going, but once you become fully familiar with the camera you would probably want to touch up certain settings such as default contrast level (default too high), etc.
Overall Review: I'd like to mention about Newegg's outstanding customer service in resoving an issue that I experienced during the time I bought this camera. If I could rate Newegg in this review, I would award them an A+ or 10 eggs without hesitation. Great vendor to deal with, it certainly won my loyalty.
Pros: * The Mag-alloy weather-sealed body rocks. I came from a T1i where I was getting fed up with the compact/plasticky body. This one feels very solid and sturdy. It's not really heavy but it grips really well.
* The Autofocus is lightning fast, especially if you USM lenses.
* 8fps burst! I can get about 20 shots until the buffer fills up on my 133x CF on full RAW
* Wireless flash control - I have a 580exII and remote firing works like a champ
* Video - i dont use it very much but quality is fine.
Cons: * Sell the 18-135. This is a semi-pro body and buying this camera means you're serious about photography so therefore you should invest in good glass.
* When shooting in low-light and I crop my photos, I am finding more noise than I would like.
* On-board flash isn't great, but for an emergency it'll work.
Overall Review: I got in on this body+lens kit when it was 1499. I haven't found a better price on this since then. I LOVE this camera and am glad I was able to get it thru Newegg.
Pros: Incredible options avaialble on this camera. Lowlight photos do a very good job as well. The 8x sec burst is great for my athletic photos. Battery life is very good.
Cons: Price but when put into context this too should probably be a pro. None other, I love this camera
Overall Review: I had the original Canon Digital Rebel so this was a huge leap up for me. added two very nice lenses and paired with Adobe lightroom and photoshop. I could not be happier with the results.
Great camera as good as it gets for APS-C sensors12/20/2010 7:43:14 PM
Pros: Great build quality
Great auto focus
Wireless ability for external flashes
Awesome 1080p HD video
Great button layout with the ability to customize their functions
I upgraded from a Rebel XSI and there is no comparsion in any area. The 7D is built like a tank and handles great it doesn't feel lost with bigger "L" lenses. I'm not easy on my gear and this thing can take it. When you need the shot to be good and can't afford the 1 series this is the camera to get. The AF speed and FPS are as good as it gets outside the 1 series. I've shot in 100% humidity and 90+ temps to 0 degrees and snow its never let me down or missed a shot. Weddings, action, portraits, landscapes it can do it all. Impressive ISO range and video ability in dark places.
Cons: Crop sensor (I wish Canon would make a full frame with this AF system and FPS rate in a small body)
The locking mode dial button now being offered on the 60D and as a retrofit for the 7D (you have to pay) should have been standard.
Can't keep up with the 5DmkII in overall resolution and High ISO performance (but its wokring with a smaller sensor)
Relocation of the on/off switch prevents one handed power up when speed is critical, its not a huge deal but requires retraining your brain when coming from the rebel series.
Overall Review: I would reccommend this camera to any one looking for an up-grade from a rebel or older X0d Canon. If you can't or don't want to spend the money on a 1 series, but need speed and AF that you can't get with the 5dmkII this is the one to get.
I can't say enough about the responsiveness and performance of this camera

EOS 7D10/22/2010 10:08:04 AM
Pros: IQ in high ISO situation. 8 FPS, Many custom options, Great value with pro features, Newegg has (had) the best price of anybody...PERIOD...at this price..they were sold out in less than 30 minutes.
Cons: not much...ok..the 18-135 lens is junk...but for the price...who cares.
Step up to EOS 7D from Nikon D407/25/2010 5:22:31 AM
Pros: Built like a rock!!! It's prety heavy and solid to your hands. Very clear 3" display. Comes with editing software.
Cons: The kit lens!!! The wide angle is terrible the barrel effect is too obvious even to untrain eyes like mine. Most shots I took on either extreme end are soft or looks like it's out of focus. i got to get me a good lens. Sigh!
Overall Review: Im still learning this camera. There's a lot about this camera's potential that I may not even touch . I'm afraid I've taken a bite off something I can't chew because I'm just a novice and this camera is for experienced photographer. I guess I need to start learning fast!!!
Pros: I don't even have to try and it takes great pictures. I am quite impressed with what this can do. 1080p video is an amazing bouns to the great pictures.
Cons: Canon's paper documentation is kinda weak, but if you do a little leg work you can find it online. Newegg shipping.
