Great product, great performance! 1/21/2020 8:22:30 AM

Overall Review: I really liked this version without graphic card, Intel took too long to put this "F" series on the market. I almost bought an AMD CPU but I still feel better with Intel products.

You probably don't need more 1/20/2020 7:27:24 PM

Pros: Hit an easy 5.1 ghz overclock
Good price for the umph

Cons: No hyper threading so 8 cores, 8 threads

Overall Review: Very pleased with this CPU

Fast! 12/12/2019 9:59:19 AM

Pros: OC'd this chip to 4.5Ghz with stock voltage. Idles at 27 and max temp is only 55c. I use a Noctua heat sink. I plan on pushing it to 5ghz in the future.

Cons: None

Overall Review: Fastest chip I've ever used so far. Low temps, Hi speed... what more do you need.

Great midrange CPU, overclocked to 5.2GHz! 12/11/2019 6:41:49 PM

Pros: Overclocked so easily.
Stays cool with just a 120mm AIO cooler @ 5.2GHz.

Cons: Not 8 cores or hyperthreading

Overall Review: Very good price vs performance if you're gonna overclock. At stock speeds, better off with a Ryzen 5 3600 (same price now).

Team Blue is absolute best! 12/1/2019 12:35:52 AM

Pros: -Runs cooler (when compared to my i7-7700K), probably because of no integrated graphics
-Really not that much of a difference from my previous build performance-wise
-My favorite game runs buttery smooth
-Bought at a great discount price
-More PCI-e, nevertheless it disables the 2 SATA ports I need if I use a 2nd M.2 drive. Not a pro but something to know and consider.

Specs, whole new system:
-ASUS MAXIMUS XI Z390
-Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR4 3200MHz
-The Star of the Show
-ASUS ROG GeForce GTX 16600 Ti OC
-Creative Sound Blaster Z
-Corsair MP510 960GB M.2 NVMe
-Corsair RM1000i
-Phanteks Evolv X Grey Case
-$$$$$ Corsair Hydro X Cooling

Cons: None

Overall Review: First and foremost, settings, the Z97 and Z170 chipset (Nevermind the Z270, basically a Z170 with two extra PCIe lanes and same BIOS) are very similar in settings and BIOS, but this Z390 and BIOS is a whole new thing, to me, it seems like basically, the pre-settings are set in a manner that you won't go over a certain temperature range unless you fiddle with the BIOS and change them yourself. Otherwise, the system will reboot when it hits a certain pre-set temperature. In my case, it was 95C which I didn't understand why? Maybe because this time around it's 8 cores and a pretty expensive chip to replace Intel doesn't want you to break it prematurely, thus influencing the board manufacturers (ASUS in my case) to not allow the CPU to pass 100c. My Z170 would throttle, this Z390 doesn't, it just reboots. Now it won't and temps are great......but!!!!

So, after concluding that I couldn't use an HSF, like the Dark Rock Pro 4 in my case, mainly because I can't use the two sets of Corsair Platinum RGB, I opted to consider an AIO but those are not 100% reliable IMO, though I had a 280 RAD in my 7700K and the DRP4 is doing a better job at cooling it than the RAD AIO.

I paired my CPU with the best cooling solution possible I could find, the Corsair Hydro X series, which not only does an exceptional job at cooling my CPU but also the aesthetics were my main goal, and performance also and ultimately seeing the 4 Corsair Platinum modules. The pump is relatively quiet, even at full speed and the fans are so quiet as well (Fractal Static pressure non RGB).
It is worth the price paid? It all depends on your budget and the length of time you're planning on keeping the system and how serious you're about overclocking or getting the best possible cooling solution.

This processor is a great performer, just a matter of getting good cooling and BIOS settings you're good to get the 5.0GHz the CPU is meant to run at, otherwise, you'll see only 4.6GHz but it'll keep going.
For air cooling, I believe and from my experience the be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 is the best, you'll pay the same price for the other option but less appealing IMO. And skimping on the cooler? Big mistake. This is an Intel with 8 cores, not a well-known brand for running cool with less than stellar heat-sink/fans.

A great gaming CPU 11/18/2019 8:12:13 AM

Pros: - Was easily overclocked to 5Ghz
- No problems out of the box

Cons: - Runs warm to hot and requires a good amount of cooling. Especially if overclocking at all

Overall Review: - If you are looking for the current best gaming cpu this is the one
