AMD Game On: Inside Our Ryzen 7 7700X3D Launch Celebration

Today, we threw open the doors to the Newegg Gamer Zone and kicked off AMD Game On, our celebration of the launch of the AMD Ryzen 7 7700X3D, available exclusively at Newegg. AMD showed up in force to back the launch, joined by sponsors MSI and Sandisk, and the room filled fast with tech and gaming influencers like RobeyTech, PC Werkz, and plenty more familiar faces. You could feel the buzz the second you stepped through the doors. So come on in. Here's how the day went down. 

Taking the Stage 

Our own Ben opened the event as host, setting the tone for a day built around one simple idea: building a great gaming PC shouldn't have to wait on a tough memory market. He kept it brief and handed things to AMD, starting with Senior Marketing Manager Becky Ellzey, who introduced AMD, gave a welcome speech and introduced Client Channel Business Manager Matthew Hurwitz for the keynote. 

Matthew's keynote was a highlight of the day. He opened personally, recounting the first computer he built with Newegg and the passion he'd carried since he was a kid, then spoke to everyone in the room who was once that same kid, excited about the parts, the research, and the payoff of building your own PC. From there he got into the hardware, presenting the Ryzen 7 7700X3D: where it fits in AMD's X3D lineup of CPUs, how its large on-chip cache eases the pressure of a tight memory market, and how it performs against comparable chips. He closed by walking the room through the performance of the Radeon RX 9070 GRE. 

Hands-On With the Hardware 

PC Werkz, one of the most respected names in PC modding, brought a build that stopped people in their tracks. He painted the MSI MPG GUNGNIR 211R case red by hand and cut custom openings and fitted them with acrylic AMD logo work and a built-in Thermaltake screen, turning a standard chassis into a showpiece. Under the glass sits a serious machine, built around an MSI B850 Tomahawk MAX WIFI II motherboard and a 1TB SanDisk Optimus GX Pro 8100 NVMe SSD. Best part? RobeyTech kept the energy going with a RobeyTech livestream, giving his audience a tech-focused take on the launch. He echoed Matthew's pitch for the 7700X3D as the more cost-effective option and walked his viewers through the single-DIMM builds set up around the room. From there he teamed up with PC Werkz on a build segment to reinstall the CPU, cooler, and Radeon RX 9070 GRE back into the demo system, then closed with a tour of the space alongside our Gamer Zone Operations Manager, Eric, for a look at the publicly accessible Gamer Zone where we hosted the whole event. 

Game On, For Real 

After a catered lunch from Ono Hawaiian BBQ, the afternoon belonged to our content creators, who faced off in a Valorant tournament that brought out some genuinely great plays. The players split into two teams: Kjtodo, Hotrodd, Brinx, Trey509, and our own Vampirenin from the Newegg marketing team on one side, with Synthics, Adilswrld, Cher, 7VEN Jeff, and one of Cher's friends on the other. We streamed the whole match on twitch.tv/newegg, and Hotrodd, BrinxHQ, Synthics, and Trey509 ran their own livestreams alongside it. When the dust settled, Synthics' team came out on top and walked away with Newegg gift cards. 

The real story was how it played. Every player called out how smoothly the game ran, and a few of the streamers didn't realize until afterward that every machine in the room was running on a single stick of RAM—proof that the single-DIMM build holds up under pressure and keeps costs down without giving anything up. We closed things out with an award ceremony, a round of raffle giveaways for everyone who came out, and a few closing remarks to send the day off right. 

What's Next 

The Ryzen 7 7700X3D is live now, exclusively at Newegg: 8 cores, 16 threads, and 104MB of total cache, built on AMD's Zen 4 architecture and AM5 platform. If today's demo told you anything, it's that you don't need two sticks of memory to get started. One is enough to build on, with room to add more whenever you're ready.
