Pros: This ram performs very well and very good deal but YES the prices have shoot up in the recent months on ddr because ddr2 is becoming more mainstream each day.

Cons: No cons but read my "other thoughts" section.

Overall Review: Those of you who are having problems mixing these with older revision I have a simple solution to your problem. I too thought I would have to return this stick because my system would just beep when I installed it together with my other stick that is one year old and it appears these are new revision of the same model so what i did was , I moved this "NEW" stick to bank 1 , in another words, first or closest to the cpu and the older revision in the 2nd bank and wholla, it works perfectly... It appears that 1st dimm works as a "master" and 2nd dimm works as a slave so to speak.... I hope this helped....

Overall Review: I have 2 of these in my girlfriend's ASUS/Athlon system and it runs beautifully. I went ahead and added one to my box that had only 512mb beforehand, and wow what a difference. My system is Albatron mobo, Athlon XP 2500+, 126mb GeForce FX5500, and I went from lagging like hell in towns in WoW at mediocre graphics to running through Ironforge with the settings maxed. I think RAM is one of the most important performance factors, and this is a good way to increase yours.

Pros: To the guy who gave it 4 stars because Windows only detected 448MB of his RAM: Dude! This is because Windows is using 64MB for your video since you have onboard video.

Cons: None.

Pros: Works fine as long as you DON'T USE IT WITH DOUBLE SIDED STICKS!

Cons: Corsair used the exact same model number for their double sided version of this configuration. I have 2 sticks from Corsair with the same model number. They don't work together with processors because one is double sided and the other is single sided (memory chips only on one side).

Pros: Seemed to be reasonable price for upgrading an older computer and most other Newegg reviews were favorable. Newegg provided prompt delivery.

Cons: It immediately crashed my Dell Dimension 4550 (533hz) PC and corrupted the BIOS. Reinstalling OEM memory did not fix it and Dell tech support did diagnostics and referred me to Corsair for help on this 3rd party upgrade. Although I selected this memory using the Newegg memory configurator, Corsair said it was NOT compatible and could not/would not assist in fixing my computer. After pleading with Dell, they helped me reinstall Windows for the OEM memory configuration but at the expense of losing critical files. I am still struggling to reload applications and drivers. Dell recommended against trying to reprogram the BIOS to avoid inducing failure of the over 5 year old motherboard.

Overall Review: I am not a computer whiz, just a retiree trying to keep an older computer going on my fixed income. I do not know why this PC3200 memory does not work in my computer or why Corsair only recommends 266 Mhz PC 2100. The Dell configurator recommends 512Mb 400 Hz PC 3200 memory for this computer. Since I relied on the Newegg configurator, I asked Newegg to waive the restocking fee and to give a full refund including s/h plus what I paid to ship it back. I hope they will at least do that for all the grief this has been from an incorrect configurator.

Pros: I am sure the memory works fine, if....

Cons: ...you have single sided pairs. I have a double sided version with the exact same model number from Corsair. Won't work in Dual Channel. Not identified in the specs.

Overall Review: In between the time I put this on my wish list, and my ordering it, someone identified this problem in a review here. Wish I had checked it. Wish Newegg had mentioned the different versions.....

Pros: Don't make the same mistake I did

Cons: I've owned my computer since '05 and not once has it frozen on me until I installed this RAM. Happened to me 3 times in a row after approx 5 minutes of use after startup. Removed the RAM and no more freezes for the last two days of heavy use.

Overall Review: Don't waste your time and money!!!!

Pros: Computer boots, but that's about it.

Cons: When this RAM was first placed into my system, it immediately showed signs of instability by not compiling Linux. Thinking it was memory timings, I switched them around in the bios. After fumbling with that for a while, and after weeks of trying to install an OS and GUI, finally my computer would start. Now programs crash with 'Segmentation Fault' errors. First run of memtest86 showed no failures, but now, after a month of use, this RAM won't even get through the second test without enormous amounts of errors.

Overall Review: Others may have had luck with Corsair, but I think I will stick to others.
