M55 RGB PRO Gaming Mouse Quick Start Guide Warranty Card
Cons: * Somewhat light feeling
* Opposing thumb button someone easy to accidentally trigger
* iCUE lost RGB settings once
Overall Review: Corsair consistently makes some of my favorite products. So I was very interested to see their latest mouse offering, the M55 RGB PRO. I currently rock the M65 PRO RPG and it has been superb.
First of all, packaging was pretty standard for this price tier, so nothing really to say there. But once unpacked I immediately noticed the weight, it is noticeably lighter than my M65. I personally like a little heft, so for me it is a little light feeling and is not tune-able. But it does feel very nice in the hand, with all the buttons being right where they need to be and provide good feedback. I did notice some accidental pressing of the opposite side thumb buttons, but that lessened as I got used to the design.
The mouse wheel has nice resistance and changing the DPI on the fly was effortless. 12400 DPI offers a lot of range for various types of games and is very welcomed. The iCUE software for tuning the lighting is solid, however there have been some times where it loses my color settings (with both mice). Still that is a notable, but minor gripe. The cord is a solid length and overall the mouse really is a quality product.
Overall, I recommend it for the price point and especially if you are looking for a ambidextrous design. It is comfortable, performs great, looks good and does not do much extra and that is okay!
Pros: Great, super-lightweight mouse. I personally prefer light mice, so I do like the weight of this one.
I'm not left handed, but the mouse is perfectly symmetrical and it is comfortable for me to hold in my right hand, so I can imagine it will make a lot of left-handed people happy.
Cons: There is only a single button to change DPI, so it cycles through all DPI options. If you want to return to your previous DPI setting, you must press the button a few more times to cycle all the way back around. I suppose you could record some macro actions for the forward/back buttons that could work similar to the way some mice have an up/down button for changing DPI to workaround it if needed.
For the way I grip my mouse, I accidentally click the opposite forward and back buttons all the time. It's not that big of a deal since I can just disable them, but it still has me worried when I hear the click that I accidentally did something I didn't want to do.
Overall Review: I have large hands and typically use a claw-grip on mice. My preferred mouse is actually a Corsair Sabre, but this one isn't too bad. My cons are relatively minor. To be honest, I barely change DPI anyway (unless it's by accident) and the claw-grip is to blame for hitting the opposing side buttons. Aside from that, the mouse still feels great to me.
Although I still want to plug my Sabre back in and go back to using it, I wouldn't mind continuing to use this mouse indefinitely. I recently had an issue that I had to have my Sabre RMA'd for, and with no backup mouse, life was miserable for the duration of the RMA. I would have loved to have a backup mouse like this, so I'll definitely be holding on to this one for any future issues like that.
For any left-handers out there looking for a decent, inexpensive gaming mouse, this is a great choice. Or , you know, right-handers too. I guess it doesn't matter.
Pros: -Great brand name company with proven support
-Very fast blazing DPI mouse
-Reasonable price
-Good build quality
-Compatible with other corsair accessories
-Very light and fits big hand well
Cons: -Somewhat stiff cord
-Scroll ring does not seem very durable
Overall Review: For some reason my original review did not go through so had to re-do it. Would recommend but expect scroll roller and bottom pads to wear.
Overall Review: This is my first foray into the "RGB" for a computer mouse; everything but my graphics card (and technically my primary mouse) is RGB capable. The mouse is very much lighter than my primary G500s. I don't find the cable to be too stiff - pretty lax in terms of flexibility. Any and all customizations and configurations must happen within the iCue software. I like having configurable RGB lighting for my computer system, but I haven't had much luck with longevity; 2 Corsair RGB keyboards I own both have ~6 LED lights that no longer work after 1-2 years of use. Quality-wise, this mouse is comparable to my G500s; build, buttons and all. I'll admit, I wouldn't have bought a gaming mouse at $40 prior to receiving this one due to the price-point. My opinion has changed.
Pros: This mouse has a lot of versatility. The extra buttons for handedness can be activated and programmed for additional functionality. It takes some practice to use without accidentally pressing the extra buttons, but this feature also makes it a great productivity mouse for working professionals, especially if you frequently use CAD programs.
It has several settings for DPI, and allows you to activate as many of them as you wish. One of the biggest annoyances my last mouse had was the requirement to click the DPI button and had to cycle through 4 different speeds before I got back to the one I wanted. I prefer only having two activated: “normal” and “fast”.
The iCUE software is simple to use and has a lot of customization options. As mentioned, you can increase/decrease the number of DPI speeds, and you can also adjust the DPI of each speed. Options are also available for the mouse color schemes of the DPI settings and logo, including brightness, allowing you to dim or brighten the lights.
The chord has a woven fabric sheath, and it comes with a velcro strip to bundle up the excess length for good cable management.
Warranties - Newegg’s 1 year warranty, and Corsair is 2 years. My experience with filing warranties with Corsair has been pretty smooth in the past, so it’s nice to have that additional year just in case.
Cons: The requirement of the iCUE software to make use of its features. The software is developed to control several different Corsair peripherals, hence the large file size. But given the amount of customization available for the mouse, I really don’t see this as much of a con.
Other Thoughts: The EULA for the iCUE software is pretty standard, and didn’t appear to have any clauses which were intrusive.
Pros: Feels like a high end mouse.
Tracks with no discernible input lag, feels linear on 144Hz display.
Good design for office use, not too attention stealing with the lights on.
Nice cord.
Long enough to be comfortable with larger hands.
Cons: Software still seems to be a challenge for Corsair.
Overall Review: Software can be glitchy and lose your settings otherwise mouse is excellent at low price point.
I'm not taking an egg away for the software since it's common to many Corsair products.
Overall Review: The mouse is great, the sides (pinky and thumb areas) and main body have different textures, both suit their respective needs well. It took me a bit to learn how to change the light color by the scroll wheel (it's under "DPI", not "lighting" like the logo) but I eventually got it figured out. I didn't choose the mouse because of its ambidextrous but I can see how the symmetrical design can be be beneficial. I have a sort of claw grip when I use a mouse and this one's great for that.
I've been using the mouse for over a week, the lighting was left alone after I got it set the first time but I've went in to change the actions & pointer speed a few times. I'm pretty sure it's set where it'll stay but making changes is easy in Corsair's iCUE software if I decide it's still not right.
Pros: - Nonslip grip
- Comfortable
- Minimal RGB but still RGB
- Perfect hand size
- Fits left or right handed
- Easy to modify controls with CUE software
Cons: - Conflict within CUE software removed the forward and backward premapped buttons and it is a pain to get fixed.
Overall Review: This is a great little mouse and I like this mouse better than my Scimitar pro (which I have since taken to work as my daily iMac and Macbook Pro driver). It is very comfortable for long use, excellent in games, and has a nonslip grip that is comfortable and not over bearing. It has every control imaginable for every day use as well as gaming and it really works well. Corsair just gets it.
Pros: * Ambidextrous design * Comfortable Grip * RGB lighting * Excellent Performance * 12400 DPI
Cons: * Somewhat light feeling * Opposing thumb button someone easy to accidentally trigger * iCUE lost RGB settings once
