Modular Cabling SystemGet a cleaner-looking build and improved airflow with the modular cabling system. Since the peripheral power cables aren’t hard-wired to the power supply, you can connect only the cables you need for your exact configuration of PCI-E cards and storage devices. The rest of the cables stay in the box, and not in your PC’s case where they can add to the clutter and interfere with airflow.
Reliable and CompatibleDesigned by Corsair’s California engineering team, built to the exact specifications and tested to strict standards, the CX Series Modular power supply is reliable for smooth operation and offers seamless compatibility for trouble-free installation.
Compute quietly80PLUS Bronze certification offers up to 85% energy efficiency for less heat generation. Less heat means less noise from the fan. The thermally controlled fan spins in response to the temperature for quiet computing at low load, and the large diameter reduces noise even at high load. Enjoy quiet computing.
Black Goes with EverythingYou’re building a PC, not a battleship, and appearance counts. The matte black finish, black-sleeved cables and black connectors help give your system a restrained, high-tech look.

Pros: -Low cost
-Reliable brand
-Modular
-80 PLUS Bronze
I am very happy with this PSU. Its great to have a low cost, modular power supply from a reliable brand. Worked perfectly with absolutely no issues. I didn't do extensive testing, but all voltages appeared to be correct when I checked them.
Cons: Nothing really comes to mind.
Overall Review: Very glad to see quality, low-cost, modular power supplies starting to show up. Very happy with this power supply.
Pros: Modular is the way to go. Only use the cables you need. This greatly minimizes the clutter in my system and makes it easier to cable manage. Plus it lets me pick and choose which cables to use. This system came with extra cables, more than you can actually use at once. The details don't make it clear, but it actually comes with 4 SATA connectors (2 cables with 2 connectors on each cable). I haven't had any issues with this PSU so far, but it's been a few days.
Also, it's fairly quiet, I've definitely had louder PSUs.
Cons: Better instructions.
More SATA connectors
Overall Review: I noticed that the connection ports on this PSU are labeled differently, some explanation of which cords go to which port would be nice. They're pretty much assuming that you know enough to be able to identify the different connectors. I'm also wondering if there's really a difference in the connection ports, or if any cord can be plugged into any of the available ports. An answer to that question without risking damage to the unit would be nice, I suppose I should check the manufacturer's website.
I'm also wondering if I can somehow get more SATA connectors on this thing, that seems to be what I need most.
Final thoughts: This is a great PSU because it is affordable and modular. As long as you don't need more than 430W and 4 SATA connectors, you can't really go wrong.
Item as described, meets all expectations of the Corsair name.4/28/2013 10:03:23 PM
Pros: - Modular
- Consistent output
- Beautifully quiet
- Standard Size (5.5 Inches in length, leaving just enough room for a optical drive in an HTPC case.)
Cons: - None as of yet.
Overall Review: I would recommend this for any mid-tier build.
Pros: 80 plus Bronze PSU for less than $50 is always good. Modular design, great quality fit and finish. High quality sleeves, and up to four module connectors.
Cons: None
Overall Review: So far, all of the Corsair PSU I've bought haven't failed on me. This new one is even better and for the price, it's a bargain! The modular design is a plus for small builds on a tight budget. It just makes cable managing even easier. Cables are made of high quality and the sleeves are top notch. Cable lengths are more than enough to reach all of your peripherals, but when it comes down to a full ATX Tower, this won't do. This PSU is designed for small builds using mid to mini ATX cases/towers.
Pros: Powers 16g Ballistix, 840 Pro HD, 3570K CPU, MSI E77-53 board, 2 purple fans, & Xonar sound card without a hiccup. Fairly silent.
Cons: Mine had the side panel tab out of place and slightly damaged, like it was squished BEFORE PACKAGING. The box was not so I had to laugh at the QC decal. Speaking of Decals, I read a review on this PS & it showed a nice Corsair case decal. I didn't get one (boo hoo).
40 Days.. and starting to make laud buzzing2/28/2016 9:55:43 PM
Pros: - Good Price
- Modular
Cons: - 40 days before started to have issues
Overall Review: Now that 40 days have gone by it has started this high pitch buzzing sound and starting to show signs of 'old age' but its too late to return the product and without another replacement would set me behind for a week..

Great piece for my first built.11/13/2015 3:27:02 PM
Pros: I'm guessing everything. I mean I'm not a specialist on this type of equipment, but I decided to buy it specially for the price and the reviews and my new built is working like a charm. I wanna say this a great power unit for novice to expert builders. Easy to mount and plug. Love it.
