Overall Review: This is the best keyboard I have ever owned and I've used many gaming keyboards in the past. The RBG is superb on this one and I leave mine set to "RAINBOW" which looks awesome next to my Corsair Scimitar Pro mouse also set on "RAINBOW" lighting scheme. Corsair's iCUE software is flawless with this keyboard and very easy to use.
It's all business with a flip of an easy access switch on the keyboard to turn the keyboard into tournament mode which is totally awesome. Lighting for tournament modes are able to be customized.
Although I use the 10-Key for my business everyday. I don't miss it because this is by far my favorite gaming keyboard I have ever used and the saved space from not having the 10-Key on this board is welcome when I get the time to play. I would definitely recommend this keyboard for anyone that wants one of the best that's currently out.
This is a nice, fairly compact mechanical keyboard, with many RGB light capabilities.6/8/2022 1:37:50 PM
Pros: This is a nice, fairly compact mechanical keyboard, with many RGB light capabilities.
The volume roller is a nice added feature that I like. There are also a few added buttons for media control, and a mute button. I also like that there is a button to control the brightness of the backlight without having to go into the software.
As this is a smaller compact keyboard, there is no 5-key number pad. It takes some getting used to if you are accustomed to having it.
The quality of the keyboard is great and feels really solid. You can change out some of the keys with textured / curved keys (provided in the box) that can be nice for gaming. There was a handy key removal tool to help.
The RGB backlight works really well, and you can control the brightness, colors, and many settings.
Cons: The "themes" that are available in the software work pretty well, but if you want to customize the lights and settings, I personally do not really like the interface. The settings can be a little confusing as to how to enable/disable certain features and how to save them or not overwrite a different option you thought you enabled etc.. I think there is some room to improve the interface.
As with almost all gaming mechanical keyboards that i've had or tried, they are pretty loud when you type. So if you were going to use this for business or calls, or in a space that would be otherwise quiet (like near a spouse that likes to read etc..) be prepared that each keypress is not very quiet. (and you could get unexpected agro)
Overall Review: Overall, it's a great keyboard if you are looking for a solid, good quality Mechanical Gaming keyboard with a smaller profile that has RGB light options.
Upgrades galore from the original K-series mechanical keyboards5/23/2022 3:57:06 PM
Pros: Coming from the original K-70 RGB series from a few years back, there are so many improvements to Corsair's mechanical keyboards.
First off, the switches: they're AMAZING. Dubbed the MX SPEED Silver switches, these are extremely smooth and just the right amount of springiness to feel great. The volume roller has been smoothed a little bit to a more subtle diamond pattern but still feels great.
Cons: This keyboard is not wireless. For a tournament-ready keyboard that is not at all expected, but is is something to consider if using this keyboard for multiple devices and want improved portability.
The font changed to be more edgy and blocky compared to the previous font. While it is larger and increases legibility, it does look tacky to me. I would consider changing the keycaps at some point to something with more timeless styling.
Overall Review: The tournament switch in front changes the lighting to become red, and has a latch that keeps the switch in place and has an indicator to show to staff that the tournament mode is engaged. Pretty thoughtful feature. Overall, I'm very impressed with this keyboard. It even comes with a keycap puller and a set of their gaming-oriented caps that used to be sold separately in earlier K70 releases.
I think one other possible change change would be to have the top-left media buttons be obvious macro buttons instead. You can still remap it using the iCUE software, at least.
- A note on images and video: Just in case you were concerned seeing a key seemingly have an issue, I have the right-hand function (Fn) key unlit on purpose through iCUE. The lighting works just fine as expected. Cheers!
Pros: I like the construction and ease of use of this keyboard, this is partly due to the hardware and software interface. The keystrokes feel legitimate as well. This is a tournament keyboard by all means. The firmware update took no time. This is a very reliable keyboard that makes life much easier. Corsair is not stupid by all means because they've made a product that fits the company image. The software is very easy to use. This keyboard is very user friendly and it doesn't take too much space.
Cons: RGB lighting uses basic technique.
Overall Review: This is a good keyboard for the tournament, and it belongs to that environment.
Pros: This keyboard has great build quality. It's made of plastic and aluminum with absolutely no flex. The underside has some of the best rubberized anti-slip pads I've seen on a keyboard where even the pull-out legs are rubberized. Add in the surprisingly heavy weight for a 70% keyboard, and this thing isn't budging.
The RGB looks great against the black frame and even has a slight reflective quality against the brushed aluminum. The PBT double-shot keycaps allow the light to shine through while protecting the coating and letter from wear or fading. Meanwhile, the mechanical switch underneath feels smooth to type on, and the short actuation distance and 8,000 Hz polling rate ensures your actions are translated into your games as quickly as possible.
Corsair's iCUE software allows you to change multiple settings from polling rates to macros, or to setup simple RGB effects while allowing you to download more complex RGB profiles or create your own. Don't want to have their software running all the time? You can save multiple profiles to your keyboard and toggle through them on the board itself, or disable all effects instantly with the "tournament" switch.
For those that like to customize your keyboard, Corsair threw in textured WASD keycaps, but you can use compatible 3rd party caps as well. The braided USB C cord is removeable, allowing you to also change your wiring as well.
Volume scroll wheel isn't anything new, but it's superior to old buttons. Once you use a keyboard with one you'll never be able to go back.
Cons: Media keys are at the top left of the keyboard which is awkward for non-lefty's to use. Should've been thrown below the volume wheel or swapped in place of the RGB/profile buttons.
No USB ports on keyboard.
Polling rate over traditional 1,000 Hz gaming boards is honestly unnoticeable.
No palm rest.
Overall Review: Overall a great board where the cons are based more on per-user needs, preference, and budget.
Fantastic gaming keyboard with great RGB!10/2/2021 10:38:33 AM
Pros: - This keyboard feels and looks great! The brushed metal base and matte keys really go well together
- Small, efficient form factor that almost feels too small sometimes, but definitely would fit in a smaller space
- Solid, smooth keys. Maybe not as "clicky" as some other switches, but still leaps better than your standard membrane keyboard
- Love the media and volume controls directly on the keyboard. I love the volume rollers that these keyboard have.
- Extremely responsive and feels great for gaming
- The extra key caps for commonly used gaming keys (WASD, etc.) are awesome! They're raised and angled a bit to give you a better feel for where your fingers are at and help you place yourself on the keyboard
- And the RGB! I love messing around with the different RGB behaviors and colors. The colors are vibrant and the iCue software lets you customize behavior to your heart's content
- The cable is a detachable USB-C, meaning that you won't lose another keyboard to a faulty or split cable and can replace it whenever
Cons: - No ability to control RGB profiles without the iCue software. I realize this would be hard to control with just the keyboard alone, but having the option to toggle through stock colors/patterns would be nice
- No dedicated macro buttons. Maybe this was to keep the form factor small, but I certainly appreciate a row of macro keys on my gaming keyboards
Overall Review: - I *personally* prefer a full keyboard with a number pad, but I love this keyboard so much that I might just get a separate number pad so I don't have to find a different keyboard
- The iCue software can control and monitor other devices in your PC, but I did not spend much time with the software to be honest
Pros: -I love the portable K70 form factor where you still get media and light control keys
-power cord is a detachable USB Type-C
-RGB effects easy to manage in iCUE software
-excellent quality of key caps on top of superb Cherry MX switches
-comes with silver gaming caps and tool to easily remove them
-fast input gaming keyboard geared for tournaments (there is a tournament switch on it)
Cons: None!
Overall Review: Probably the cutest & best performing portable keyboard I have ever used
