Are there a manual and a strap for this USB ?

There is a manual and I believe there is a strap. If those are your biggest concerns you might want to look else where. This is a massive secure drive with a code lock. A lanyard is irrelevant and a manual is always provided on line by every devise seller. I love mine.

Can you create a windows system image on this device and use it to repair/restore the image?

Yes, it's particularly handy for that because of its internal battery. If the battery is charged (meaning it's been used for a least a few hours sometime in the last six month), you can unlock the device before inserting it into a USB port, which makes the timing of booting very easy compared to some other hardware encryption solutions.

I have mine formatted as FAT32 and use it daily to transport files between a Mac environment and a Win7 environment, with no troubles.
