Are the cables Braided?

they are plastic into the connections, but the main cables are in a braided sleeve, if that makes any sense.  This power supply looks especially good in a white case, which is the reason I bought it.  Has performed very well also....whisper quiet.

I just bought the RM750X and the CPU connector came with was too short to plug in. Is the CPU in the RM850X longer?

I own at least 5 Corsair PSUS and all of them have relatively identical lengths. Be it a modular/semi-modular/non. Since the RM850X is fully modular you can order a longer CPU cable from a Cable Modder. Although the set that comes with ithe is really nice. Most CPU or MoBo cables are just a little short for the ATX form factor. ~ Gædjət
