Question 1

Height of RAM? I need it to be 32mm or less.

Accepted Answer

specs say height is 34mm

Question 2

Compatible with ASRock B450 Pro4 and 2700X? Hoping to run this 2x16GB pair now, then add another pair later. Their QVL seems quite limited for 4x16GB.

Accepted Answer

I do not have that specific combination, but, i can tell you this..
I purchased this ram to go with an Asus z390-E Gaming MB. I put the ram in the MB in the slots 2 and 4 as the MB manual said to do. It would not work. I called Asus and they said the ram was not on the QVL and i should contact Newegg about a return. Since the ram was not defective and it was my lack of research that was the issue, i could not return the RAM without paying penalties (If i could return at all). I decided to ignore Asus and proceeded to place the ram into slots 1 and 2 (Which Asus said would not work) However, the MB then proceeded to boot. Unfortunately the RAM was only recognized at 2400Mhz in stead of 3200Mhz. At this point i went ahead and installed my OS's and decided to settle for the lower speed instead of paying for new ram. Now, I knew that the architecture of the ram was standard (DDR4) so the lower speed was nagging at me. After verifying that the UEFI/BIOS was fully up to date I proceeded to change the XMP profile in the UEFI, and lo and behold, after saving and rebooting my ram was recognized at 3200Mhz and the full 32GB. (This was an automatic profile, I did not have to manually define parameters) SO, short answer, if you feel lucky, go for it, but remember that your return is not valid on this type of call. Also, even though your particular MB manual may say use only slots 2 and 4 for ram, this only matters if the RAM is QVL for your particular MB.

Short answer, if you already purchased the RAM, try some basic tricks to get it working, if not, safest to stick to QVL, which i consider 88% marketing and not an actual limiting factoring due to commonality in the DDR4 architecture. Good luck and clearly understand your return/exchange policies before purchasing anything.
Note, I only have the 2 DIMMs installed, have not expanded to 64Gigs yet

Question 3

Is this better than upgrading to 32GB DDR5-6000?

Accepted Answer

Choose the CORSAIR Vengeance LPX kit for an existing DDR4 motherboard or a cost-conscious DDR4 upgrade. Choose DDR5-6000 for a new DDR5-compatible platform when higher memory bandwidth and a longer upgrade path matter more. DDR4 and DDR5 are not interchangeable, and benchmark results show that DDR5 can provide larger gains in some CPU-limited or memory-sensitive workloads while making little difference in others. ([techspot.com](https://www.techspot.com/review/3059-ddr5-vs-ddr4-gaming/?utm_source=openai))

Question 4

Should I buy this 3200MHz CL16 kit or 3600MHz CL18 DDR4?

Accepted Answer

Choose this CORSAIR kit when the two kits cost about the same and you want lower nominal CAS latency with broad DDR4 compatibility. DDR4-3600 CL18 has similar nominal CAS latency and higher bandwidth, but professional testing found little difference between DDR4-3200 and DDR4-3600 in some games; the practical gain depends on the CPU, motherboard, and workload. ([techspot.com](https://www.techspot.com/review/3059-ddr5-vs-ddr4-gaming/?utm_source=openai))

Question 5

Is this 32GB kit a worthwhile upgrade from 32GB DDR4-2666 or DDR4-3000?

Accepted Answer

Choose this kit when the upgrade is inexpensive and your system supports DDR4-3200 through its XMP profile. The higher frequency can improve bandwidth and CPU-limited performance, but gains are usually modest in GPU-limited gaming, so replacing a working 32GB kit is most worthwhile when you use bandwidth-sensitive applications or want a straightforward matched kit. Question 6

Should I choose this low-profile RAM or a higher-capacity 64GB DDR4 kit?

Accepted Answer

Choose the CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 32GB kit for gaming, office use, and general productivity where 32GB is sufficient and compact cooler clearance is useful. Choose 64GB when you regularly edit high-resolution video, use virtual machines, work with large creative projects, or run other applications that consistently exceed 32GB. The LPX modules are approximately 33.53mm tall, which helps in systems with large CPU coolers. Question 7

Is 32GB DDR4-3200 CL16 better than 16GB DDR4-3200 for a gaming PC?

Accepted Answer

Choose the CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 32GB kit when you game while multitasking, use mods, stream, or run memory-heavy applications. A 16GB kit can be sufficient for basic gaming, but 32GB provides more capacity for newer games and background applications without changing the platform. Question 8

Will the low-profile design fit in a compact desktop build?

Accepted Answer

The low-profile heatspreader is intended to improve clearance around the memory slots and CPU cooler. However, the modules are still standard desktop 288-pin UDIMMs, so the motherboard must have full-size DDR4 DIMM slots. Check the CPU cooler and case clearance before installation. Question 9

Does it run at 3200MHz automatically?

Accepted Answer

The kit is rated for DDR4-3200 at 1.35V with an Intel XMP 2.0 profile. Reaching the rated speed generally requires enabling XMP, or the motherboard’s equivalent memory profile, in BIOS. Without profile support or manual configuration, the system may run the memory at a lower standard speed. Question 10

Is this a good choice for gaming and demanding desktop use?

Accepted Answer

It is a suitable capacity and configuration for gaming, multitasking, and other demanding desktop workloads that support DDR4. The 32GB capacity uses two 16GB modules, while DDR4-3200 and CL16 timings provide a balanced performance target. Actual results depend on the processor, motherboard, applications, and whether the rated memory profile is enabled.
