Crucial 240-pin DIMMs are used in DDR3 memory for desktop computers. DDR3 is the latest generation of memory with an improved architecture that allows it to transmit data more quickly.

A dual inline memory module (DIMM) consists of a number of memory components (usually black) that are attached to a printed circuit board (usually green). The gold pins on the bottom of the DIMM provide a connection between the module and a socket on a larger printed circuit board. The pins on the front and back of a DIMM are not connected to each other.

best bang for your buck 1/15/2010 2:05:10 PM

Pros: Cheap stable ram, that runs cool and oc's nicely

Cons: was cheaper but all memmory prices have gone up

Overall Review: -They don't have heatspreaders but they don't need them, they're cool to the touch even when OC'd.
- I've had this kit on my Gigabyte UD3R for almost a year now and I've never had any problems.
- I have them OC'd to 1728 MHz 9-9-9-25 with stock voltage 1.5v. If you can't OC them past 1333 it's not the ram's fault.

Stable ram! 11/30/2009 11:20:23 PM

Pros: Once again Crucial comes in with some very stable ram

Cons: No heatspreader but for the price for 6 gigs of it I suppose it comes with the territory. Either way my machine has been up for a week straight playing numerous instances of Modern Warfare 2 without hiccup!

Not Compatible with GA-EX58-UD4P 5/1/2009 5:03:46 AM

Pros: Newegg's service! I had ordered all the pieces I would need for a new computer and was then called up to assist in the Presidential Inauguration. So the pieces arrived and I had to fly out before trying it out. When I got back and put everything together I was pretty disappointed to find that it was not working. I called GIGABYTE's tech line for help and they suspected that the motherboard was bad, and if it wasn't that then the CPU was bad. So I RMA'd it and Newegg was cool to replace it. Well, that didn't work, so I RMA'd the i7 and Newegg was understanding. That didn't work either and I was getting pretty irritated by that point and well beyond the standard return policy window. I searched around and found that there were a lot of recent posts about how this memory didn't seem to play nicely with my board. So I have to say THANK YOU NEWEGG! They were very understanding and refunded my memory so that I could purchase something that worked.

Cons: My computer would just loop by powering up for 3 seconds and then resetting. No beeps, no contraindicating LEDs. It would not POST. No BIOS screen. The memory itself may be great. I wouldn't know.

Working well 3/3/2009 1:30:18 PM

Pros: Cheap. Stable right now OC'd to 1466 with a DFI x58 JR mobo and core i7 920 OC'd to 3.59ghz.

Cons: Nothing so far.

Overall Review: Many thanks to Oceansider's review below re the core i7 920 automatically downclocking your ram to 1066. This was a very good fit for me.

I'm being Crucially honest 2/24/2009 10:19:09 AM

Pros: Easily overclocked to 1600mhz, Runs stable, cheaper then the competition and does the exact same. No matter what sticks of ram you buy, if you are using it for the I7 its going to default to 1066, so you'll have to over clock regardless. I heard people are having issues with the gigabyte board. tough break I'm using a ASUS P6T deluxe and it working fine. Also something worth noting I'm at 4.0ghz with the stock cooler plus HT enabled, so yea, what. being cheap pays off after all. I didnt need all those fancy heatsinks after all.

Cons: It cannot be converted into an Avatar through USB cables, but sometimes stuff like that cannot only be talked about in real life.

Overall Review: AMtel I7 920
Asus P6t Deluxe
3 DDR3 (this ram right)
