Thank you for contacting us in regards to your question. The Crucial BX500 SSD would not come included with a SATA cable and would need to be purchase separately. Normally when purchasing motherboards, they may have some SATA cables included and not the drives themselves.

I have an MotherBoard that has older SATA I and SATA II interface. Are these units backwards compatible?

Yes, SATA 3 drives are backwards compatible with older standards (1 and 2).  The drive will only run at the max speed of your controllers SATA standard.  So if your controller is SATA 2 your BX500 will cap out at 300MB/s read/write instead of the full SATA 3 standard of 600MB/s.

If you want to get the most out of the drive, you can purchase a SATA 3 controller add-on card that plugs into a PCI-E slot on your motherboard.  You would then reach maximum speeds and enable any other features that rely on the 3rd generation SATA standard.

Does this hard drive works in my laptop dell N7010?

From what I am seeing, the Dell N7010 uses a standard SATA 2.5" drive.  Yes, this will work in the laptop.  In order to get full benefits speedwise you will need to enable AHCI mode.  These SATA solid state drives are SATA 3 (6gb/s) and are backwards compatible with older SATA 2 standards.

Will this work for a PS4 as an external drive or does it only work as an internal drive? Thanks

This SSD is an internal drive.  However, it can be used as an external drive if you purchase a 2.5" external enclosure and mount the SSD inside.  In fact, I did this very thing (not for use with a PS4).  I use this drive for backups of my laptop, which I then transfer to a drive on my desktop computer.  Using this external SSD drive, I get a transfer rate of over 200MB/s (USB3.0).

The SATA connector seems to have a extra piece between the data and power connectors, does that piece come off or does this drive not work with normal SATA data and power connectors? I ask this question because I bought a SAS drive once and could not connect it to my PC because the SATA data and power connectors were connected in that middle.

This drive is a standard SATA hard drive.  The standard SATA data and power connectors will fit.  No special connectors needed.

TBW = TeraBytes Written. It is an indicator of the endurance of the drive. 120GB drive: 40TB TotalBytes Written (TBW), equal to 21GB per day for 5 years. 240GB drive: 80TB TotalBytes Written (TBW), equal to 43GB per day for 5 years. 480GB drive: 120TB Total Bytes Written (TBW), equal to 65GB per day for 5 years. 960GB drive: 240TB Total Bytes Written (TBW), equal to 130GB per day for 5 years. It is evident that larger drives have greater life expectancy.  Also the more empty space is maintained on the drive, the longer it lasts.
