Haven't had any issues

Pros: This has the same 'pros' that all SSDs have. It's low power, no noise, smaller than a standard desktop drive, and is much faster. In a high-write environment it may not last as long as a spinning disk but heck I have had a lot of those die on me as well. For an OS drive it is plenty fast.

Cons: It WILL fail. It may last as long as a spinner, or not. I've only had one SSD drive die, the first one I bought, an MSata on my gaming rig that died after 4.5 years averaging maybe 3 hours a day. It saw a lot of writing so I am not complaining, even the two regular drives I had in there died at the 5 year mark and the rig has been retired at this point. Computer hardware doesn't last forever. Always keep this in mind. That being said, there are a lot of newer models out there to consider.

Overall Review: Got this maybe 3 years ago, installed it in a home lab server as memory cache. It just sat there, hardly any use as the server had more than enough memory and didn't use the cache. Switched its use over (VMWare ESXI host), to running a virtual Windows server that I installed on it. Working great still. Keeping an eye on it as it is 3 years old and of course back it up every other day. Speed is good, no problems yet.
With all the SSD choices out there today, I probably would buy a newer model than this and would look at Crucial again.

Has crashed twice

Pros: faster than a regular hard drive

Cons: crashes. The first time the first sectors on the drive were all zeros. So it would not boot and I had to reformat and reinstall everything. This time it has crashed and will not boot again. I have not looked at the sectors to see if they are zeros. I have not really used it that much.

Overall Review: would not get this brand again

Was good while it lasted

Pros: Was 108$ reached 70% of it's advertised speeds.

Cons: Drive had light use in a laptop for past 2 years recently just stops working then wait a few minutes turn the pc on and it would come back for a hour or two. Then it just died completely, contacted Crucial about this after trying to use the warranty on the website there it will not let you go any further to even check warranty status unless you have the material number from the original box. Normal companies just use the serial number off the actual drive, i mean who keeps the original packaging like i want hundreds of empty freaking boxes cluttering my place up..... So back to how i contacted their email support over a week ago and guess what? No reply big suprize they don't want to reach out to their customers to honor a warranty. This is what you get rolling the dice on a brand now a samsung for a ssd, not that i am a fan boy for samsung only products i own or buy for other people are their ssd's. Honestly they make the best on the market and from this experience with crucial i will not buy their product ever again or recommend it to anyone as well.

Overall Review: Crucial, thought they were a decent brand looks like they make cheap junk with a warranty they have no intention of honoring it.

Don't buy. These drives are only good for about `1 year of use.

Pros: It is fast and works great until it doesn't

Cons: I have had two of these drives. They seem to start freezing after a little over one year. I had one replaced under warranty after a little over a year. It would just stop after 30 min. Cycle power and it would be good for another 30 min. The replaced drive has lasted for a little over a year. Now it starts loosing files and then goes off line. Again a power cycle will restore it for a day or so.. Restarts do nothing. It must be power cycled to restore function and the "lost" files. So far nothing has been lost once power cycled.
Luckily, I only use this drive for my working copy of my files and for Firefox temp files. It is very annoying. Not worth RMAing yet again. I'm just buying some other make drive.....

Overall Review: It may be cheap, but don't waste your time.

Loved SSD, until it started failing and died

Pros: Pretty normal SSD pros. This was my first in my home gaming system and I loved the boot, read/write times. Everything felt just a bit smoother.

Cons: Had my OS installed on this drive, and after 2 years, it started failing. System would freeze and require hard reboot. Did a whole lot of troubleshooting (mostly blamed windows 10) but after a month or so of random system freezes, on reboot the BIOS wouldn't show the SSD in the boot manager. After a few hard power cycles, it would show back up and boot fine, run for a day or so and then freeze again. Happened again and might be dead for real this time.

Overall Review: Crucial is usually a pretty decent brand for a good price. Pretty disappointed it died so (relatively) quickly. I have a 7 year old 400gb samsung disk drive as backup storage that's still going strong.
Cant go back from SSD now, but will likely go with another brand. Probably this was a fluke, or maybe a power surge did something naughty, but who knows. Not thrilled will losing all the data on the drive if I can't get it running again.
