Overall Review: My little 2 quart deep fryer was showing its age, and I saw this on sale for about the same price as the little deep fryer I had. I tell you what, this machine is great.
I can cook just about anything, without exploding filled foods like hot pockets, mozzarella sticks, pizza rolls, etc by being able to set the temperature at a finer control. Fries come out perfect, and I can fry things I thought not possible.
This unit is good for 2 people, as you can usually cook 2 meals worth of food at once. For a family, it might take a little longer depending on what you're frying up. But this is for you to decide.
The timer is a nice feature. I can set it for 3 minutes to warm up, then I can set the timer to my desired length. I just wish it was integrated to the fryer and would shut it off when its done, but I digress.
The breakaway power cable is a standard feature, annoying at times, but we know it helps. Just don't touch the prongs when its plugged in.
Cleaning is super easy. You can take EVERYTHING apart. The heating element and back comes off, and the pot comes out of the base. You can run the basket, lid, and basin in the dishwasher, and the other components can be easily washed by hand. Much easier than my old fryer. There is even a nice groove in the pot to direct the oil where it needs to go, instead of guessing into a funnel.
For the money you can't really go wrong with this deep fryer. Its the most amount of power you can pull from the wall, in a size smaller than a 4 quart, so heat up times is quick, cleanup is easy, and cooking is even and controllable. Something I didn't realize I missed until now.
