1 out of 5 eggs TERRIBLE router!! 04/25/2016

This review is from: Cisco Small Business RV320-K9-NA Dual Gigabit WAN VPN Routers

Pros: I can't say anything good at all about this router. Cisco needs to stop selling it!

Cons: I had issues from the first day. Internet would run great for a few days then I would have to reboot. Then VPN is broken in so many ways. The IPsec doesn't work and I was told by support not to use The VPN client on the CD. I was told Cisco no longer supports using their own VPN client with this router and to download ShrewSoft client instead. Even it wouldn't work! PPTP was my fall back which did work ok but then when I had to setup VPN to connect site to site it started killing that! I started a support ticket with them and a month later I get an RMA. This has been by far the worst router I've ever installed. This pretty much killed the Cisco name for me. Maybe if you're buying a $2,500 router but for small businesses stay away from these.

HP 280 G1 (P0C87UT#ABA) Desktop PC - Intel Core i3 4170 (3.70 GHz), 4GB DDR3 500GB HDD, Intel HD Graphics 4400, Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit

Pros: - Standard 24 pin power supply! (Thank you HP)

- Intel Core i3 + 4GB RAM is actually a little faster than I expected. It's perfect for your basic office environment where people just need access to documents, email, and internet. I installed Quickbooks 2016 and it ran just fine.

- 6 USB 2.0 slots (4 rear, 2 front) and 2 USB 3.0 slots (rear)

- Nice case. The outside is your typical black pc which is good as it will look nice in any office. The inside of the case is open with room for another 3.5" drive, The cables are nicely tied out of the way and it is not cramped or laid out weird like some other cases. Here is a case that while somewhat minimalist is perfect in it's simplicity.

- Very quite. Like, "is this thing on?" kinda quite. It has a PSU, CPU, and case fan so for a 3 fan case, yeah it's good.

- Another big plus is very little extra software installed. It has Skype, MS Security Essentials, CyberLink PowerDVD, Foxit PDF, and a trial of MS Office. Not too bad compared to the bloatware that I've seen on some new computers.

- I've had some new computers that after I turned them on still had 20 minutes of unpacking drivers and software and that alone made me never want to recommend or buy another one for any of my customers! This PC was perfect, I plugged it in and then 2-3 minutes later I was at a desktop! That's how it should be!

I wrote this review because I've been very frustrated the last few years with pc manufacturers selling a "business" class budget pc that was junk! I wanted to give HP some well deserved appreciation for not following that trend and giving buyers in the SMB market a great workstation at a good price!

Cons: I'm not a fan of the extra HP setup after the usual Windows questions (time zone, user, etc) but it's no biggie.

Other Thoughts: I'll definitely be buying more of these. Unless HP messes up and stops making them.

1 out of 5 eggs Did not pass the test of time 11/14/2015

This review is from: Changhong 50" 1080p LED HDTV - LED50YC2000UA

Pros: For the last year and a half it has been a great TV. However, read my cons...

Cons: I bought this a year and a half ago. Today I turned it on and the bottom half is jittery. The warranty is of course only 1 year so it would seem that Changhong knows how to make a good TV that will last just past the warranty period.

Other Thoughts: This will be the last time I buy anything made by Changhong. No matter how good the price is if it only lasts 18 months it will cost you way more than a good one like Samsung or LG.

This is a classic example of "You get what you pay for"!
